There were some credits that came with my facial package purchase and one of the products which were recommended to me, was Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum. Of course, I am happy to try more products from Dermalogica as my recent favourites were Dermalogica Precleanse and Dermalogica Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse.

Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum comes in a 30ml dropper bottle. Clear in colour, it has a slightly oily texture which I am not a fan of. Looking at the list of ingredients, there are several oils in it, which explains the oily texture. It has a calming citrus scent.

Their products use mild ingredients that can work comfortably with any skin type, starting from the Heartleaf line and increasing the concentration of heartleaf extract has demonstrated remarkable soothing effects, making it beneficial for those who have sensitive skin. The brand is vegan and cruelty-free.

This is the last product gifted by Anua after emptying Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil and Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner in return for honest reviews. 

Toner pads offer convenience and targeted benefits (hydration, soothing, exfoliation, pore care and oil control). They can be easy to use with mess-free application and may also double up as quick masking. Unfortunately, most toner pads do not have a place in my skincare routine, as I can easily replace them with my skincare products. However, I appreciate having exfoliating toner pads like Anua Heartleaf 77 Clear Pad in my weekly routine.

Anua Heartleaf 77 Clear Pad contains 160ml contents with 70 pieces of toner pads fully soaked in 

Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner in a tub with a flick lid and an enclosed tweezer. All the 70 pads are stacked upon each other and each pad has 2 different sides - the embossed side for exfoliation and the smooth side for soothing. It has a subtle naturally occurring scent. 

How To Use :

1) After cleansing, gently wipe the entire face, excluding the eye and mouth areas, with the embossed side in the direction of the skin's grain in the first step of basic skincare routine.

2) Wipe again with the opposite soft side of the pad to refine skin texture.

3) Close the lid after use to prevent the pads from drying out.

Tip: Alternatively, use the pad as a soothing mask by placing it on the irritated areas of the skin.

This potent combination helps control sebum secretion and tightens pores, leaving your skin looking smoother and more refined. 

Having combination skin in humid weather makes oil-controlling exfoliating pads a welcome addition to my routine. The clear pad’s embossed side, with thin cross-strip patterns, provides a quick and convenient way to exfoliate with just a few swipes. And then follow up with the other side to soothe the skin after exfoliating. 

I love the light exfoliation and how the pads help soothe newly formed zits (random zits on chin), preventing them from worsening. With regular use, I’ve noticed a slight reduction in T-zone oiliness.

Since over-exfoliation can be damaging—especially for mature skin, which has a thinner barrier and slower cell turnover—I limit use to 1-2 times a week.

Bonus tip: These pads work great for exfoliating the neck, chest, elbows, and knees too

Note that it is best to avoid using this clear pad with other AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin C and Retinol to avoid irritation. 

The key ingredients are...

Houttuynia Cordata : Soothes and calms skin issues. Heartleaf’s active ingredient, quercitrin, is good for skin regeneration and detoxification, accelerating cell turnover and soothing acne-prone skin.

Gluconolactone : A type of polyhydroxy acid or PHA that is as effective as AHAs but less sensitising. An effective low-irritation exfoliating ingredient suitable for sensitive skin, which also helps retain moisture. By gently exfoliating dead skin cells, it smooths out the skin's texture without causing irritation.

Anti sebum-p : A patented ingredient that consists of four plant-based ingredients namely, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract and Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract to regulate sebum production, tighten pores ad balance the skin's moisture-oil ration for a smoother and more even complexion.

Torriden Ceramide Cream is a 70ml tube product with a beautiful light yellow vibe that is minimalistic yet classic. I did not detect much fragrance and the soft buttery creamy texture with a medium consistency is emollient on the skin.

100% Pure is one of my favourite brands although not every product works for me so I was excited to chance upon 100% Pure Cocoa Butter Moisture Mask on Naturisimo.

100% Pure Cocoa Butter Moisture Mask is housed in a 50ml tube but the tube is stiff and you need some effort to squeeze out the cocoa butter mask. There was a hint of delicious cocoa scent. 

How To Use :

Apply generously onto clean, wet skin – avoid the eye area. 

Leave on for 15-30 minutes before rinsing away with warm water. 

Note: can be mixed with warm water to create a creamier consistency.

I came across this brand on Iherb ( Use OKI787 for 5% off your order ) while on the search for strengthening hair products where the reviews seem promising. My current favourite regular shampoos are Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo and Innersense Hydrating Cream Hairbath but I needed something to target hair loss.

As I Am Pomegranate & Passion Fruit Strengthening Shampoo has a sweet fruity pomegranate and passionfruit scent. It comes in a 355ml bottle with a flick top cap

Performance and Ingredients

While I really like the fruit zesty scent, foams slightly and how well it cleanses my hair, however there was hair fall which was heartbreaking as I could not afford to lose more hair than I already do. It was drying, left my hair straw-like during rinsing and tangled my hair after air-dried.

On Iherb, there was no indication that the shampoo was made for tightly coiled and curly hair which made me purchase it, but on the Our Story website, it seemed to imply that their products are specially formulated for tightly coiled and curly hair so you might have better luck if your hair falls into that category. 

The key ingredients are....

Pomegranate : Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals which nourish the scalp and strengthen hair.

Passion Fruit : High in vitamin C, which aids in collagen production essential for maintaining hair strength and elasticity.

Aloe Vera : Has natural moisturizing properties, which help to nourish the scalp and promote healthy hair.

To conclude, As I Am Pomegranate & Passion Fruit Strengthening Shampoo was a major disappointment. My hair was straw-like during rinsing and tangled after air-dried and along the way, there was hair fall. Not a repurcahse!

Dr. Althea Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser is a 100ml tube product with a gel texture and I did not detect any fragrance. Unfortunately, it is very drying on hands and face and cause a mild irritation on my cheeks.
