Earlier in March this year, I had purchased Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask from
Evening Island, a local beauty e-tailer which has since ceased operations. It was such a shame as I really like the curated Kbeauty brands from the founders.
Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask has often been known as a dupe to
Fresh Rose Face Mask which I used 5 years ago, but unfortunately, I don't think its fair for me to make a comparison as its been years since I last used Fresh Rose Face Mask - other than the formulation may have changed, my skin's condition, needs and concerns were vastly different 5 years ago. I think its only reasonable if the person who does such a comparison has both products on hand so that the testing is done on the same skin condition. Reasonable?
Interestingly, there were some other dupes as analyzed by
Skin Skool in comparison with Fresh Rose Face Mask.
How To Use ( box ) :
After cleansing, spread out suitable amount on irritated skin avoiding eyes and mouth area.
Rinse off 10 - 15 minutes later with lukewarm water.
note : Store mask in refrigerator for fresh and cool use to soothe skin fast
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask comes in a 100ml tube with a flick top cap where the size of the box packaging bellies the actual quantity - 3/4 filled in the tube ( it looked nothing like the picture at all ). My initial impression was that, it must have spilled but you and I know, its not possible, especially when the cap is secured ever so tightly.

The other reason I could think of, is that all the gel texture sink down so it made the tube looked 3/4 full. Another reason would be, marketing gimmick, as everyone love to see big sized item so the next time you go shopping for skincare products, remember to check the quantity of product as that would be the most accurate.
If you are a fan of roses, you may find the whole branding so on-point, with red box to red tube to light brown gel mask with a rose-scented mask fragrance.
The texture is a beautiful light brown gel texture filled with tiny red petals that felt calming and soothing on skin.
Performance
Made in Korea, Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask is said to rejuvenate dull skin, repair cell damage and fight off free radicals. Containing over 60% of Damask Rose Floral Water, it works together with French Rose Petal and Rosehip Oil to soothe irritated skin and nourish skin with rich nutrition.
Sodium Hyaluronate and Trelahose provide lasting hydration and result in smooth, plump skin. The inclusion of 8 Amino Acids provide the building blocks to help maintain the moisture barrier, while reducing transepidermal water loss.
Recommended for skin sensitive to irritation from environmental factors such as fine dust, dry skin in need of moisture, sensitivity-prone skin and unbalanced skin with weakened skin barrier and hydration, Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask has a gel texture which is slightly cooling and calming on skin. After 15 minutes of masking, the gel mask dries down to a sticky finishing and its time to cleanse off. Do note that, it takes slightly more effort to rinse the sticky finishing off the face, so do use a toner to check for any remnants, if any.
Initially I didn't think it did much as it only helped to minimize the redness on my skin very slightly but effects were more pronounced on dehydrated skin, where I truly appreciate its calming and soothing sensation. Skin was much hydrated and comforted and rough areas were much minimized. Skin was also brighter occasionally.
Ingredients
The key ingredient in Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask is Damask Rose Floral Water which has excellent soothing effects. Damask Rose originates in Turkey. The rose water is rich in Vitamin C and Anthocyanin, more so than any other fruits and has been used and loved by European women since ancient times as toner.
It also contains real rose which is packed with vibrant French Rose Pollen to calm irritated skin with natural freshness. Another ingredient, Trehalose helps to prevent moisture evaporation with a powerful moisture barrier while Sorbitol and Sodium PCA helps in moisture retention.

To conclude, Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask is gentle enough for sensitive skin and great for all skin types, but particular stressed, irritable and dry skin as it provides that calming and soothing sensation with hydrated and comforted skin. It can be stored in the fridge for extra soothing and cooling of inflamed skin.
If you are on the fence about choosing between Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask and Fresh Rose Face Mask, then I would highly recommend you to try out Isntree first, since its only 1/3 of the price!
