I like to focus on using one pack consistently before opening another, as I find this gives me a better idea of how a product performs without having too many similar products in rotation. This also helps ensure that my review isn’t skewed by switching between different sheet masks.

Lululun is the number 1 face mask brand with over 1 billion sheets sold in Japan so it was natural that I would pick up some of the sheet masks while holidaying in Hokkaido, Japan last month. 

I purchased a box of 5 sheets and gifted some away, leaving just 2 sheets for myself. I regretted not buying more because I ended up loving this sheet mask! In fact, I found it worked much better for my skin than the Hokkaido Milk Mask.

I purchased 2 packs of Lululun Pure Pink Toner Mask during a sale in Watsons. and as expected from a made-in-Japan daily sheet mask, the packaging is simple, functional, and designed for convenience. 

Each resealable pouch contains 7 toner-infused sheets stacked together, making it ideal for everyday use without the fuss of opening individual sachets. The closure seals well, helping to keep the masks moist and preventing the essence from drying out too quickly.

The masks themselves are thin, well-soaked and lightweight, offering that refreshing slip you’d want from a toner-style mask. However, the cutting can be a little inconsistent: some sheets have larger eye openings, while others come with a narrower philtrum area, which may affect the fit for different face shapes.

I received a resealable pack of 7 piece Lululun Face Mask ( Pink ) sheet masks from a good friend who just came back from her Japan trip. This is one of the bestselling sheet mask in Japan so I was really happy to be gifted with them.


Packaging, Scent and Texture

Lululun Face Mask ( Pink ) comes in 2 sizes - 7 sheets pack and 32 sheets pack and I received mine in the 7 piece pack, kept in a resealable packaging which is pretty convenient for travels. It is also more eco-friendly since there is no individual packaging involved.

Each sheet mask is folded and stacked upon each other. Just pull one out, unfold and layer on skin. Slightly moist with a subtle scent, Lululun Face Mask ( Pink ) has a small face cutting that does not stretch to the edges of my face while the lip cutout is small and cut closely around the lips.

The material is thin and soft which adheres well to skin.


Performance and Ingredients

After using all 7 sheets for 7 consecutive days, I can see that my skin is slightly smoother and softer with smaller pores and brighter skin.

In terms of ingredients, the key ingredients are

Sodium PCA : a naturally occuring humectant that functions as a hydrating agent and a skin-replenishing ingredient. Sodium PCA is the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid (also known as PCA). PCA is a naturally occurring component of human skin and a part of the "natural moisturizing factors" (NMF) that maintain a healthy epidermis. Dipotassium glycyrrhizate : an ingredient derived from licorice root extract that functions as a skin-conditioning agent with anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties with the ability to improve the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. It has a soothing effect and also calms inflammation. Clinical studies have determined that dipotassium glycyrrhizate is an effective treatment for atopic dermatitis (eczema) because of its ability to reduce redness and irritation. ( source )

Conclusion

In conclusion, Lululun Face Mask ( Pink ) is an affordable and travel-friendly mask pack that delivers softer and brighter skin. However, the cutting is poor and is only meant for smaller faces.
