[ Review ] By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule

By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule Review

Product Description
By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule is a hydrating ampoule that contains Aloe Vera Leaf Polysaccharide to keep skin moisturized for a long period of time. Refreshing moisture when applied once, replenished when applied twice, and fills the moisture barrier when applied three times. The watery and light texture does not leave any sticky feeling and is absorbed into the skin to layer in any step.

Hydrating products are a staple in my skincare routine as hydrating helps nourish the skin and fight off wrinkles, dry, itchy, aging skin and give the outer layer a healthy glow. Well-hydrated skin protect you from foreign substances that can accelerate the aging process, and skin with high water content prevents skin from becoming brittle, thin and appearing 'crepey'. Hydrated skin yields plumper cells, more space between layers, and less cracking and creasing, hence making lines and wrinkles less visible.

I haven't tried many By Wishtrend products and this is only my 3rd product from the brand, after By Wishtrend Active Boosting Essence and By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule which I received as part of a collaboration event from Wishtrend.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

By Wishtrend Hydra Enriched Ampoule comes in a pretty blue box and in the blue box, is this frosted 30ml dropper bottle with blue hued watery contents. This blue hue comes from Malachite Extract, a mineral that helps improve signs of aging skin.

[ Review ] Axis-y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, Boosting Ampoule, Calming Cream

Axis-y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, Boosting Ampoule, Calming Cream Review

Axis-y reached out to me recently and offered to send over their latest range of products - Water Your Skin with ultra hydrating skincare as well as Complete No Stress Physical Sunscreen, Mugwort Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet and New Skin Resolution Gel Mask as part of a paid partnership.

All of Axis-y's products are 100% made in Korea and are free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colors and fragrances as well as being alcohol-free, vegan and cruelty-free.

In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts on their hydrating skincare range.

Stress, hormones, diets, and climates can cause our skin to be dehydrated, which leads to sensitivity and other problems. For this reason, Axis-y set out to create new products that can hydrate and moisturize our skin according to our unique needs.

Hydrating skincare is the core of my skincare routine due to my skin type - combination skin with surface dehydration. Skin that is not hydrated enough will become dry, tight and flaky where lines, uneven skin, wrinkles, dark spots and texture are prone to look deeper and more pronounced.

Our skin is made up of three layers : the outer layer (epidermis), the underlying skin (dermis), and the subcutaneous tissue. When the outermost layer of your skin does not contain enough moisture, the skin will lose its elasticity and feel rough.

Dehydrated skin appears weak, dull, and uneven and, when combined with signs of ageing, it can make everything look worse, so make sure to keep your skin hydration levels up as a hydrated complexion will look plumped, healthy and youthful looking and feel soft and smooth.

This is due to the fact that the outermost layer of the skin has the moisture it needs to flush away toxins and carry nutrients to the skin’s cells. Having an adequately hydrated face will help to improve skin elasticity which will reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

With my past positive experiences on Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum and Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream, I am definitely excited to embark on this hydrating skincare journey with Axis-y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, Axis-y Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule and Axis-y Heartleaf My-Type Calming Cream.

These 3 products are also part of their 6 + 1 + 1 series which refer to a formulation with a combination of 6 nutrient-rich base ingredients, 1 core goal-oriented ingredient, and 1 quality-producing effective technology.

Lets delve down to see how AXIS-Y “Water Your Skin” products fare.... You won't want to miss them out!

[ Quick Review ] Cica-go Cica Double Effect Ampoule + Finish Cream

Review for Cica-go Cica Double Effect Ampoule
CICAGO’s Cica Double Effect Ampoule helps balance the moisture level of the skin while helping the skin to repair itself from daily aggressors. Helps reduce irritation and redness while deeply hydrating the skin. Naturally driven Arbutin helps brighten dark spots and overall skin tone to reveal skin’s innate healthy glow.

I received 2 tiny vial samples with my purchases in Seoul late last year. Each vial lasted me for about 3 times of usages which I use it together with the finish cream. Lightweight and watery, it applies effortlessly into skin with a slight oily finishing. With most products, it takes a longer time for one to see improvement, if any, so at this point, I can't attest to its efficacy yet.

Where To Purchase :
Cica-go Cica Double Effect Ampoule

Ingredients : Full Breakdown
Water, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Squalane, Arbutin, Sodium Chloride, Sericin, Cnidium Monnieri Fruit Extract, Viscum Album (Mistletoe) Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Panthenol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Castanea Crenata (Chestnut) Shell Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract

Review for Cica-go Cica Double Effect Ampoule
CICAGO’s Cica Finish Cream is a gentle moisturizer for hyper- sensitive skin that restores hydration for a soft, healthy and glowing skin. Feels light- weight and can be used both night and day time in order to moisturize and prime the face before makeup. This soothing cream brings out the natural suppleness of the skin and provides an ideal base for makeup and or skincare routine.

I received 2 sample sachets and each sachet allows 2 times of usages. White in colour, the cream is gentle and feel soothing to skin but because I used it directly after the Cica-go Cica Double Effect Ampoule, the overall sensation felt slightly greasy to the touch which I do not quite fancy.

Where To Purchase :

Review : Yves Rocher Wrinkles & Radiance Express Beauty Vials

Yves Rocher Wrinkles & Radiance Express Beauty Vials Review
Product Description
From age 30, skin becomes dull. The powerful anti-wrinkle action of the Ice Plant is combined with Oryza extract, which recreates skin’s cohesion and boosts its radiance. The Express Beauty Vials revive skin's radiance, it immediately appears tightened.
Apply its fresh and moisturizing texture when your skin is creased and your complexion is dull to revive its beauty immediately.

Yves Rocher Wrinkles and Radiance Express Beauty Vials, also known as Serum Vegetal is a pack of 4 x 1.5ml vials, recommended to be used across 4 days as an intensive anti-aging or brightening serum treatment. My interest was piqued when I came across the product receiving an award in a SimplyHer magazine. It was the readers' choice as the best serum for early signs of aging. Read here.

And since my skin was in need of some brightening and anti-aging treatment and 4 days isn't too long, I picked them up from one of the stores during our Great Singapore Sale. It costs $16, down from the usual $20.

All about Ampoules

What are Ampoules

Ampoules, are more intense, potent versions of serums or essences. They typically contain high concentration of active ingredients which can help revive and boost the skin in lesser time.

It is considered a skincare secret which every Korean woman swears by, in making a huge impact on how your skin looks and feels. In fact, it is not uncommon to see 50% or more concentration of the star ingredient in ampoules.

Due to the high concentration, ampoules usually come in smaller packages as a little goes a long way and sometimes, a drop of two is all it takes to see results. The texture is usually light and slippery which makes them easily absorbed by the skin.

They can be found in airtight glass containers, filled with a concentration of highly active ingredients which usually contain botanical extracts, vitamins and enzymes in various combinations and do not have any preservatives or chemicals due to the airtight packaging.

Ampoules can have remarkable effects on various skin conditions, like whitening, hydrating, irritations, hyper - pigmentation as well as aging. Some ladies who used it reported visible results within a short time after application, making them great fans of ampoules.

Commonly used in beauty salons during facials or before make up application in the past, they are now more easily available, to be incorporated as part of your skincare regime. Makeup lasts longer as it is helpful in controlling sebum and makes our face looks less oily. Skin feels very soft and hydrated after application.

Check out my review of Skin Expert Whitening and Hydrating Ampoules

Review : Skin Expert Whitening and Hydrating Ampoules

Review for Skin Expert Whitening and Hydrating Ampoules

Ampoules, an in-thing in Korea for a long while, are potent, viscous fluids packed in vials or dropper-type bottles and said to produce almost instant results on the skin.

They are different from serums, even though both contain highly concentrated amounts of active ingredients and are small enough to penetrate deeply into skin.

However, ampoules contain more condensed active ingredients and sizes are smaller than that of a serum, hence they are said to be more potent than serums.

Review for Whitening and Hydrating Ampoules

With that in mind, I purchased some ampoules from a colleague who is a beauty fanatic. Even though whitening and hydration are my top most concerns but I still can't resist getting Caviar, Oxygen Booster and Beauty Lifting ampoules as well.

Note that Skin Expert has a wide range of ampoules for different concerns - AHA Peeling, Anti-Acne, Beauty Lifting, Caviar, Couperose, Oxygen Booster, PhytoFlavon, Regenerating, Sensitive, Hydrating and Whitening.

Among the 5 variations, I felt that Whitening and Hydrating ampoules work best on my skin. I saw results, unlike when I used Caviar, Oxygen Booster and Beauty Lifting ampoules. It could also be because of my age when I don't need anti-aging products for now - hopefully its because my skin is still young!

Each glass vial contains 2ml contents. Break the vial, as indicated by the red line, near the neck of the vial. Depending on your preference, you can finish the whole vial at one time ( like in the salon ) or choose to use it over a few days.

In some facial salons, the beauticians tend to apply the ampoules during the skin massaging, after exfoliation. I tried using the same way, but my skin experienced some breakouts, so I stopped the massaging and used the ampoules like a serum instead.

I tend to use the whitening vial after exfoliation and masking, if I feel that my skin is in need of radiance or hydration vial if my skin is dehydrated. I tend to use the ampoule for 3 consecutive days because the quantity is too much for a 1 time usage.

In order to maintain the "freshness" of the contents, I will stuff a tissue paper in the opening and keep
in the fridge. You can find small containers to slot the vial if you are worried about spillage and breakage.

In facial salons, ampoules are highly marked up and if you are getting married, some make-up artists will sell the beauty-lifting ampoules for $25 or more. I managed to get it at a discount because my colleague know someone from the beauty industry.

My skin appeared more radiant after consecutive use of the whitening ampoule for 3 days. And with the hydrating ampoule, my skin was sufficiently hydrated. Loving the affordable price and the results of the ampoules.
