L:a Bruket 270 Gentle Lip Scrub is a lip scrub that gently buffs away dull surface skin cells thanks to a unique blend of three gentle, botanical exfoliators (cranberry seed, rosehip seed and crystal sugar from betaine). Enriched with carrot oil and vitamin E, it reveals a new, soft and smooth skin. An essential step to prepare the lips for deep and effective hydration. COSMOS natural certified. 

How To Use :

1) Apply evenly on lips 2 or 3 times a week. 

2) Massage gently with the fingertips in circular movements, the excess can be removed with a damp, warm cloth.

Dry, flaky lips can make lipstick apply unevenly and reduce the effectiveness of your lip balm. Mary Kay Satin Lips® Shea Sugar Scrub gently exfoliates to soften and smooth, polishing lips to perfection. It exfoliates with natural sugar crystals and is blended with luscious shea butter to leave lips feeling soft, smooth and conditioned.

How To Use :

Gently massage this confection onto lips for one minute and whisk away dryness.

Lip scrubs are not essential to me and this is probably my second one to date. My first lip scrub was from Sara Happ and wasn't cheap for the performance rendered. A DIY concoction of honey and sugar might be a good affordable alternative at home so I never see the need to purchase one, after my first lip scrub. 

Mary Kay Satin Lips® Shea Sugar Scrub is housed in a 8g tube with green and white colours. It is tiny and is convenient to bring around. The sweet scent is lovely and the granules are gentle and non-abrasive. 

As with most sugar scrubs, it is sticky but does its job. The exfoliation from natural sugar crystals is gentle and never drying or harsh. My lips are left soft and smooth after each lip scrub and prepped for the lip balm application.

I haven't been using much lip care products since I am wearing masks all the time, making stickiness from lip balms pretty annoying, however, prior to the pandemic, lip balms are essential to me and I always had one in my bag. 

Mary Kay Shea Butter Balm comes in a pretty green and white 8g tube with a slanted applicator tip for easy application. It is balmy with a minty sensation and a sweet scent but the sweet scent felt slightly artificial to me. 

The shea butter balms coats and moisturises my lips throughout the night, making my lips smooth and moisturized while looking glossy, healthy and kissable!

It is recommended to use the lip balm after the White Tea & Citrus Satin Lips® Shea Sugar Scrub

Conclusion

To conclude, Mary Kay Shea Sugar Scrub and Mary Kay Shea Butter Balm were not lovely finds though not necessary in my routine during the pandemic.  

The gentle lip scrub left my lips soft and smooth while the butter balm left my lips moisturised and healthy-looking. Both work well to give one healthy lips.

Review : Sara Happ The Lip Scrub ( Brown Sugar )

The go-to for those who are finicky about fragrance. Simple, straightforward. A classic. Eliminates dry, flaking skin, leaving lips ridiculously soft and supple. Wonder how you ever lived without it.


I need a lip product. Badly. Dry flaking lips every day in the freezing cold office is no joke. I am self-conscious when I talk to colleagues. So what better way, than to invest in a more expensive brand - Sara Happ, who is touted as a purveyor of luxury lips. 

I purchased Sara Happ The Lip Scrub ( Brown Sugar ) and Sara Happ The Lip Slip, keeping my fingers crossed that they will work. No, make it, that they must work. You can tell how desperate I am.

Sara Happ The Lip Scrub ( Brown Sugar ) comes in this really pretty and feminine chic brown box with a ribbon, as illustrated in the picture above. For the price, the lip scrub was a disappointment, to be stored in a clear plastic tub.

I love the scent though. A very yummy edible and delicious scent, except its not food. It was easy to get the grainy dark brown paste onto the lips and buff gently which made me wonder if using sugar from my kitchen works just as well without the hefty price tag. 

However, it was difficult to wash the stickiness off my fingers.

My lips becomes really soft. Adding the Sara Happ The Lip Slip overnight on my scrubbed lips made my lips so soft and kissable. But for the price, no, I will not re-purchase it. There are better products with a more reasonable price.
