[ Review ] Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream

 

Product Description

Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream harnesses the repairing power of the sea to radically hydrate and lessen the look of wrinkles and fine lines, which often first appear around the eyes. This rich, emollient cream is formulated with fermented seaweed extract and mineral-rich seawater to rejuvenate the delicate eye area. It's also enriched with peptide and plant stem cell extracts to lock in moisture and protect the skin’s natural barrier.

I received a set of eye creams as part of a Stylekorean Try Me Review Me campaign mid last year and Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream was one of my favourites during the testing period. Unfortunately, I realized it didn't suit me with longer term use. Let delve down why. 

[ Review ] 3M Nexcare Acne Patch

 

I had a big angry zit on my chin during Chinese New Year. It developed after my regular facial at the salon which made me pretty upset. Turned out that there were "3 heads" in the inflammed zit and it took almost a month with another visit to the facial salon, before the inflammed zit subsided. 

My brother recommended acne patches which I was aware but never took heed in the past as I thought they were gimmicky but it turned out to be a game-changer. I purchased 3M Nexcare which was what he had tried before. 

Pimple patches are made of hydrocolloid, a squishy, plasticky material used in wound healing bandages in hospitals. The material absorbs fluid from a wound, forming a gel that gets trapped in the bandage, turning the area of the bandage white.

Hydrocolloid can help speed healing by keeping the underlying area moist, a key tenet in wound-healing. 

Product Description

Nexcare™ Acne Patch (Thinner) is a drug-free, non-drying way to absorb oil from clogged pores. They work on a variety of skin types, and act as a protective cover, reducing the urge to squeeze or pick at a blemish. Nexcare™ Acne Patch is also breathable and comfortable to wear.

How To Use : 

1) Cleanse your face and hands well. 

2) Gently pat dry with a clean towel 

3) Peel open the plastic pouch. 

4) Select a patch which is able to cover the acne and place it centered on the acne opening. 

5) Gently press the edges of the patch with clean and dry fingers for better adhesion. 

6) Once the colour changes from skin colour to white, it means that the oily secretion has been absorbed. The acne patch should be replaced with a new one. 

[ Review ] 100% Pure Tomato Lycopene SPF 20 Moisturizer

 

Product Description

100% Pure Tomato Lycopene SPF 20 Moisturizer is perfect for protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays as it is packed with the natural power of tomatoes and lycopene. While it doesn't blend well for the face for everyone, it is perfect for keeping your body moisturized and protected.

This product has been discontinued and I am one of those silly ones who purchased it and hated it. I am not even sure why it was formulated in the first place, as this was a terrible product. Perhaps just for me. 

Even the description sounds like "okay I know my mistake but I will position it in another way so that I can sell the remaining stock" with its statement "While it doesn't blend well for the face for everyone, it is perfect for keeping your body moisturized and protected"

I purchased 100% Pure Tomato Lycopene SPF 20 Moisturizer at a 100% Pure Singapore bazaar and it was my biggest regret ever. I always love 100% Pure products so this came as a major disappointment. 

Manufactured in USA, 100% Pure source pigments from fruit, vegetables, tea, cocoa, and minerals to avoid commonly used heavy metal dyes and lakes. They avoid animal-sourced ingredients and opt for vegan, cruelty-free alternatives and their products will always be certified cruelty-free

100% Pure Tomato Lycopene SPF 20 Moisturizer is a 50ml product in a squeeze tube. It has a musty-like scent while the contents are white with a lightweight texture.

I have been eyeing Colorscience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Classic for awhile and finally purchased a bottle during a Black Friday sale on Amazon. Tinted products are my jam and some of my favourites were Naruko Tea Tree Anti-Acne Sunscreen SPF50 and VMV Hypoallergenics Skintangible "Faint''ation BBBB Cream where I would repurchase without any hesitation. 

Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Classic is fast becoming my favourite now and goes onto the ranks of Naruko Tea Tree Anti-Acne Sunscreen SPF50 and VMV Hypoallergenics Skintangible "Faint''ation BBBB Cream. 

Unfortunately, this is one of the rare products that I cannot finish in time, as you only need a small amount for each use. According to the website, if applied once daily, it will last you for about 90 days.

If only they would come up with a smaller bottle at a cheaper price so that the likelihood of repurchasing is higher. For the record, I usually empty most of my skincare products. You can check out my empties post on Instagram.

Grow Gorgeous Hair Growth Serum Intense has a lush scent which reminded of an indulgent spa session at the hair salon. It lingered for several hours before disappearing. 

The hair serum is light yellow in colour and comes with an additional pipette to switch out from its original screw-on cap, so that it can be used more conveniently on the scalp. It has a cooling sensation and absorb well. Mine is the 30 ml travel-sized glass bottle. 

How To Use : 

1) Start by applying 20 drops directly onto the scalp and hair line and massage in well. 

2) Smooth any excess of products through the length of your hair and do not rinse. 

Tip : Use this magic product once per day on towel-dried or dry hair to begin to see results of your thicker and healthier hair.

Performance and Ingredients

Vegan friendly, gluten free and formulated without Parabens, Sulphates, Silicones, Phthalates or Mineral Oil, Grow Gorgeous travel size Hair Growth Serum Intense is said to be supercharged with caffeine, organic pea sprout and a biomimetic peptide to boost the density of thinning hair.

With just 30ml in a bottle, I didn't follow through the usage of using 20 drops directly as it seems excessive and might be too heavy and damp on my mid-length hair. I either use it in the morning ( when I work from home ) or the night before ( after my washed hair has towel-dried ), so that the strong lush scent doesn't linger for others to smell, as it may be overpowering to some. 

It can also get pretty damp in the hair so I prefer to let it dry naturally after using the hair serum instead of tying my hair straight away. 

My hair crown has been getting flat and I mainly concentrate on those areas when I use the hair serum. After almost emptying the 30ml product, I do notice the crown was more lifted when I tied up my hair, instead of being too flat, so yes, it does help in making my hair looked slightly fuller-looking so I may repurchase a full sized bottle to see if it generates better results with continuous use. Hair is smoother and softer too.

Conclusion

To conclude, Grow Gorgeous Hair Growth Serum Intense had a lush scent and helped to provide a slightly fuller-looking hair crown when I tied up my hair. I may repurchase another bottle to see if it provides better results since mine was just a travel-sized product. My hair was smoother and softer too.

It was a chance for me to try my first Bakuchiol Eye Cream and I am beyond excited.

I love the soothing scents of essential oils and has been a big fan of EO ( which stands for Essential Oils ) on Iherb. So far, I have tried out several of their products namely, EO French Lavender Body Polish, EO French Lavender Shower Gel, EO Eucalyptus and Arnica soothing Bubble Bath and EO Time Out Shower Gel.

EO is a family-owned certified B-corp. Products are cruelty-free, vegan and contain no synthetic fragrances or harmful chemicals.

EO Orange Blossom Vanilla Shower Gel combines the joyful appeal of clementine and orange pure essential oils, alongside floral neroli and creamy vanilla essence. You’ll feel like you’re reliving a favorite summer memory with one deep breath.

At 473ml, the shower gel dispenses easily via the pump dispenser. It has a gel texture and lathers beautifully. 

How To Use :

Generously apply to hands, lather up, and breathe in. Rinse and smile.

Give your skin something to believe in. The soothing touch of our organic herbal blend of aloe vera, calendula, chamomile, and white tea extracts works to calm the skin with the gentle touch of coconut cleansers. Fig and hop extracts serve as a comforting complex to deeply moisturize the body.

While I enjoyed most EO Shower Gels, but unfortunately, EO Orange Blossom & Vanilla Shower Gel was slightly drying for me since first use so I probably will not repurchase it. It smells great, lathers beautifully and I looked forward to using it in the morning for its uplifting Orange Blossom Vanilla scent.

As a fan of cleansing milks, Placentor Vegetal Cleansing Milk is my latest addition with last few cleansers being Clinelle PureSwiss Hydracalm Caring Milk Cleanser, SVR Physiopure Cleansing Milk and Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk. 

All Placentor Végétal products are derived from Applied Phytodermatology based on 50 years of expertise in dermocosmetics which allow them to offer the most suitable solution for each type of skin problem.

Made in France, the formulas are developed by pharmacists in line with a strict protocol with preference given to natural active ingredients recognised in dermatology. The skin care products undergo clinical assessment to ensure their tolerance and their effectiveness which are assessed by instrumental methods and/or use tests on a target population (age, skin type, etc.).

Apply Cleansing Milk morning and/or night to the face and eyes using cotton wool.

Performance and Ingredients

Placentor Vegetal Cleansing Milk has a lightweight lotion consistency which glides effortlessly onto the skin, effectively removing impurities and excess oil without causing dryness or irritation. I don't use it to remove makeup as I delegate it to Dermalogica PreCleanse Cleansing Oil in my current routine. 

This gentle formula makes it suitable for daily use, even for those with sensitive skin prone to redness and inflammation and I have been using it daily for the past 2 months without any issues.

To conclude, Placentor Vegetal Cleansing Milk is a gentle formula, suitable for daily use even for those with sensitive skin prone to redness and inflammation. It kept my skin clean and soft. If I have to nitpick, it would be the parfum as I prefer my products to do without fragrances.

Aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, Lannue Sun Cream has a premium vibe with its beige exterior and its textured box packaging. At 50ml, the actual tube looked to be only 50% full, so the tube is larger than it should be, which could be a marketing gimmick. The packaging has since been changed to a slimmer tube at the point of writing. 

This sun cream has a floral fragrance with a lovely creamy consistency that applies with a subtle cooling sensation. 

[ Review ] Allies of Skin PSA Light Up Vitamin C & E Flash Brightening Mask

 

Product Description

Allies of Skin PSA Light Up Vitamin C & E Flash Brightening Mask is a brightening face mask that works to reduce dullness, replenish moisture, and leave you with all-around radiant skin.

This is my only PSA product while I have emptied Allies of Skin Multi Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum, Allies of Skin Peptides & Omegas Firming Eye Cream, Allies of Skin Retinal & Peptides Repair Night Cream and Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidant Firming Daily Treatment previously.

PSA which stands for Purposeful Skincare by Allies is the sister brand of Allies of Skin, one of the better-known local skincare brand from Singapore. This brightening mask is made in USA.

I have been appreciating rinse-off masks of late, and added Allies of Skin PSA Light Up Vitamin C & E Flash Brightening Mask into my cart. I wouldn't mind some brightening benefits on my skin so this brightening mask speaks to me.

Allies of Skin PSA Light Up Vitamin C & E Flash Brightening Mask is a 50ml product, housed in an orange tube with a spritz dispenser. The orange gel formula is thick but easy to spread for use as a mask with an oily finishing. It has a subtle metallic orange scent and a warming sensation upon application.

My reviews were selected as one of the Top 10 reviewers on Wishtrend so I had the option to choose 3 products of my choice and Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop came to my mind. Strangely, the usage instructions were different on the box packaging, Wishtrend website and Klairs website.

The box packaging states that the product can be used day and night, while Klairs website states that the product have to be used before toner without mentioning if its a day or night use, and the Wishtrend website states that this is a night serum that is to be used before toner. 

I usually follow the instructions stated on box packaging as I presume that is the most accurate to the production of the product and its ingredients.

Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop comes in a 20ml dropper bottle without any fragrance. The consistency is runny and unbelievably lightweight with a cooling sensation and a subtle tackiness. Meant to be blue in colour, my serum has turned grey when I opened up the bottle for use, after storing it for more than 6 months.

I purchased Sand & Sky Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask to add on to my collection of rinse-off masks as they were more environmental-friendly than single-use sheet masks.

Sand & Sky Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask is is a 100g product contained in a bright pink tub with a spatula as shown in the above picture. The bounce mask has a fruity fragrance and pink pudding-like texture with a cooling sensation. 

How To Use :

Spread a thick layer on clean skin, avoiding the eye area. 

Let the face mask sink into thirsty skin for 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. 

Tip : Use 2 - 3 times a week for best results.

I purchased Yours Sunny Side Up Sunscreen Mist and Yours Eye Love You Eye Serum sometime back, when it was still located in Singapore, however the brand has since closed their Singapore headquarters to focus on international expansion and they only ship products to United States and Australia now. 

Sunscreen is designed to protect your skin from the sun’s most damaging UV rays––Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB). These rays are so harmful to your skin, exposure to them can lead to sunburn, pigmentation, wrinkles, early signs of ageing and even skin cancer. A sunscreen with a high SPF (30+) is effective at either absorbing, filtering out, or reflecting these UV rays away from your skin, so you can stay fresh, youthful and glowing.

For me, sunscreen mists are the easiest for re-application, although it might not be the best as one cannot really determine the coverage, however they are more hygienic than a sun stick or a sunscreen powder. 

My last sunscreen mist was Somethinc HOLYSHIELD! UV Watery Sunscreen Shake Mist SPF46 PA++++ but it wasn't the best fit for me as the milky texture tends to leave whitish streaks on the face at times while Supergoop Antioxidant Infused Sunscreen Mist has a pretty strong alcohol scent and it has been discontinued.

After using up The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer and reserving L/Chemy Ocean for days when my skin requires more intensive moisture, I have been reaching out for Iunik Black Snail Restore Cream on most days. 

I love Iunik products as they never fail me and are always reliable and hydrating without being occlusive. Added this into my Yesstyle cart as this is the only Iunik moisturizer which I have yet to try.

Make P:rem products aren't widely reviewed unlike other brands but since I have tried Make P:rem Poncirus Trifoliata C Dark Spot Serum and Make P:rem Comfort Me Air Mask before, it wasn't foreign to me and I went ahead to purchase Make P:rem UV Defense Me Daily Sun Essence after reading a positive review of it on Instagram.

Eco Love Carrot, Pumpkin & Sweet Potato Shower Gel is made with organic orange vegetable extracts from carrots, pumpkins & sweet potatoes and enriched with Dead Sea water.

Always on the search for new shower gels, I was intrigued enough by the interesting ingredients in Eco Love Carrot, Pumpkin & Sweet Potato Shower Gel to purchase it on Iherb. I didn't quite like my previous shower gel - Jowae Revitalizing Moisturizing Shower Gel so I was hoping that this will fare better, unfortunately, it isn't. 

Hailing from USA, Eco Love worked on a minimum of 95% ingredients from natural sources, with a minimum of 30% certified organic ingredients, and is fully vegan. 

Their products are made of organic vegetable extracts which are free of harmful chemicals, as well as 

Dead Sea Salt and Dead Sea Water which are rich in 26 minerals. The organic aloe vera has a soothing effect while organic olive oil worked great as an antioxidant lubricant and cleanser. Shea Butter has  moisturizing and softening properties.

The 500ml bottle size was a good body wash size and the illustrations on the bottle were uplifting and joyful. I enjoyed the light scent as well as the light suds however, it was drying since Day 1 so it wasn't the perfect fit for me.

Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk is a plant-based shampoo that softens, hydrates and adds shine to hair while respecting the natural balance of the scalp. The dermatologist tested formula for all hair types is gentle enough for sensitive scalps.

A good friend recommended Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk, upon realizing that I have been battling with psoriasis on the scalp. It was recommended to her by her hair stylist for her dandruff. I took her advice and promptly purchased a bottle to try it out, before seeing a doctor. 

The shampoo centres around oat milk for its richness in sugar, lipids and vitamins that work to soften, protect and detangle hair.

Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk is a 400ml product. It is a housed in a clear bottle with a flick top cap that dispenses the white creamy shampoo for use. It has a subtle floral fragrance.

How To Use :

1) Apply to damp hair and scalp.

2) Work the shampoo into a lather and gently massage.

3) Rinse the hair and scalp. Rinse in case of contact with eyes.

Performance and Ingredients

Free of Sulfates, Silicone, Parabens, Mineral Oil, Essential Oil, Artificial Dye, Phthalates and DEA, Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk has a thick creamy texture which is gentle enough without causing irritation.

It lathers and cleanses well with minimal hair fall. Dandruff were reduced although they didn't disappear totally. Hair is soft, silky and nourished. 

Powered by Oat Milk, which is known for its soothing properties, clinically shown to soothe and protect hair and the natural balance of the scalp.

To conclude, Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk is a gentle shampoo recommended for sensitive scalp which worked to reduce my dandruff, lathers, cleanses well and left my hair soft and nourished.
