Licorice in skincare is like a gentle hug for your skin as it is calming, comforting, and subtly brightening. Known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties, licorice extract helps restore balance to irritated skin while enhancing luminosity. It’s often found in calming creams and serums designed to ease sensitivity and leave the complexion looking fresh, even, and naturally radiant.
I received this product from Wishtrend last year and posted an impression after 2 weeks of usage (as required) on Instagram. However, I didn't reach out as often as I should, because it fell short of expectations. It is now time to share my thoughts after emptying it.
My last 2 products from I'm From were I'm From Mushroom Collagen Ampoule and I'm From Rice Toner.

How To Use :
1) Apply a moderate amount of the calming cream and gently pat unto skin.
2) The calming cream is to be used as the last step of skincare routine.
Performance and Ingredients
I’m From Licorice Calming Cream is formulated as a skin-calming moisturizer designed to soothe irritation and reduce the appearance of post-breakout scars. It contains 58% Licorice Exosome extracted through the EXO-TRACTION method, a process that delivers nano-sized vesicles rich in anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties to help calm stressed and sensitive skin. The addition of oil-soluble Licorice Extracts also helps brighten dull skin and fade hyperpigmentation scars, promoting a clearer and more even complexion.
After using it overnight, my skin felt softer, smoother, and visibly clearer the next morning. However, the formula is not hydrating enough on its own, especially for dry or dehydrated skin types. I found that pairing it with the Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Dark Spot Care Serum helps boost brightening effects, while layering it with the Hyaah Licorice First Essence provides a soothing, gentle routine though still lacking in deep hydration. When used with Dr. Althea’s Vitamin C Boosting Serum, it left my skin looking slightly greasy, so I prefer lighter pairings with hydration for best results.
The key ingredients are....
Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract : This is the hero ingredient that gives the cream its calming and brightening effects. Rich in glabridin and liquiritin, it helps reduce redness, even out skin tone, and soothe irritation — making it especially effective for sensitive or post-acne skin
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (1,000 ppm) : Derived from licorice root, this compound supports the skin barrier while minimizing inflammation. It’s known for reducing the appearance of redness and providing hydration without heaviness, contributing to the cream’s smooth, calming finish.
Panthenol : Also known as provitamin B5, panthenol acts as a humectant that attracts and retains moisture in the skin. It enhances softness and elasticity while helping soothe dryness or sensitivity, making the overall formula more comfortable and skin-friendly.
Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract, Water(58%), Propanediol, Glycerin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract(0.05%), Cynanchum Atratum Extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Panthenol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Vinyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Glucose, Tromethamine, Butylene Glycol, Dimethiconol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate(1,000ppm), Fructooligosaccharides, Fructose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Phytate, Cellulose Gum, Silica, Cetearyl Olivate, Ceramide NP, Sorbitan Olivate, Tocopherol, Kanzou Furabonoido(JPN)(1ppb), Xanthan Gum
Conclusion
To conclude, I'm From Licorice Calming Cream is a gentle and soothing moisturizer that works well for sensitive, irritated, or post-acne skin. Enriched with Licorice Exosome and Licorice Extracts, it helps calm inflammation, reduce redness, and brighten dark spots for a clearer, more even complexion. While it may not be deeply hydrating on its own, it performs best when paired with hydrating essences or serums.
