I had good experiences with most of Jumiso products namely Jumiso Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Serum, Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Toner and Jumiso All Day Vitamin Serums so I am glad to try their popular Snail Mucin 88 Peptide Facial Cream although I am not a fan of snail creams due to its stretchy texture based on my previous experience with The Skin House Vita Snail Cream
This facial cream was provided to me, as part of a Stylekorean beauty box collaboration with no obligations to review it.
Snail mucin, also known as snail secretion filtrate, has become one of the most popular ingredients in Korean skincare. Rich in hyaluronic acid, glycoproteins, peptides, zinc, and glycolic acid, snail mucin is prized for its ability to deeply hydrate, repair, and rejuvenate the skin.
When used in moisturizers, snail mucin helps to lock in moisture, improve skin elasticity, and promote cell regeneration, making it a favorite for those looking to achieve a smooth, radiant complexion. It’s especially beneficial for dull, dehydrated, or acne-prone skin, as it helps soothe irritation, fade scars, and restore a healthy glow.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
The JUMISO Snail Mucin 88 + Peptide Facial Cream comes in a 100ml tub packaging, making it easy to scoop out just the right amount of product. It comes with a tiny spatula which I don't think its useful due to its texture.
The cream has a subtle, naturally derived scent that feels clean and pleasant without being overpowering suitable even for those sensitive to fragrance.
In terms of texture, it features a lightweight, stretchy gel-cream consistency that glides effortlessly onto the skin. It’s noticeably less stringy than most snail mucin products, which makes application smoother and more comfortable. The white-colored cream has a hint of tackiness and may appear slightly greasy on oily skin, and adding to it, due to the stringy consistency, it may occasionally transfer slightly to the lips during use.
How To Use:
At the last stage of your skincare routine, apply a moderate amount on skin and gently pat to aid absorption.
Performance and Ingredients
JUMISO Snail Mucin 88 + Peptide Facial Cream is powered by 88% snail secretion filtrate, known for its anti-inflammatory and skin-repairing properties. It is said to help to soothe damaged skin, boost moisture levels, and keep the complexion plump and hydrated.
Infused with a 5-Peptide Complex and Sodium Hyaluronate, the formula works to stimulate collagen production, enhance skin elasticity, and lock in long-lasting hydration. Meanwhile, Panthenol and Allantoin help strengthen the skin barrier and smooth fine lines, leaving the skin softer and more resilient over time.
I first received this cream as part of a StyleKorean beauty box collaboration, but initially didn’t reach for it mainly because of my past experience with snail creams that had a sticky, stringy texture.
However, after deciding to give it a try on post-facial days, I was pleasantly surprised. The lightweight facial cream glides on smoothly, absorbs moderately well, and leaves behind a soft, supple finish that feels comforting on sensitive skin.
It calms redness at times and is effective in nourishing the skin barrier, especially after facials or on days when my skin feels dry and irritated. It provides a soothing, protective layer that helps my skin recover faster and look healthier. I also noticed visible improvement on a red, scaly patch on my philtrum where after using the cream 4 times, the irritation completely disappeared, leaving the area calm and smooth.
While it excels at repairing and nourishing, I find the cream to be more moisturizing than hydrating. When used alone, it sometimes leaves minor flakiness around my nose and nostrils, suggesting that my skin still needs an extra layer of hydration. Pairing it with a hydrating serum underneath helps balance the moisture level perfectly and prevents any dry patches. Do note that it may leave a shiny finishing on oily skin so apply sparingly.
In terms of ingredients, it contains humectants like sodium hyaluronate, betaine, panthenol, and snail secretion filtrate to help attract water but its also packed with emollients and occlusives such as cetearyl olivate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, dimethicone, and cetearyl alcohol to lock in moisture and reinforce the skin barrier.
On oily skin, this can sometimes leave a hint of tackiness or a slightly shiny finish, so pairing it with a hydrating, non-greasy serum can help balance the feel. It’s ideal for dry, irritated, or post-facial skin, but those with dehydrated skin or oily skin types may need to layer carefully.
I also experienced mild itchiness on my forehead and left cheek when pairing it with Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner and the Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Dark Spot Care Serum. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend avoiding strong actives or doing a patch test before layering it with other products.

Conclusion
To conclude, JUMISO Snail Mucin 88 + Peptide Facial Cream is a nourishing and barrier-repairing moisturizer that effectively soothes redness, hydrates, and revitalizes the skin. It’s particularly ideal for dry, irritated, or post-facial skin, leaving the complexion soft, plump, and healthier-looking.
That said, the formula is more moisturizing than hydrating, and on oily skin, it can sometimes leave a slightly tacky or shiny finish. To prevent this, it’s best to pair it with a lightweight, non-greasy serum or use it selectively on drier areas. Sensitive skin users should also patch test or avoid layering with strong actives to prevent irritation.
