My team colleague gifted L'Occitane Rose Multipurpose Fresh Mist, together with a hand cream as a birthday gift to me, which was such a sweet gesture that I appreciate. 

Currently using their Cherry Blossom Hand Cream in office, my last 2 experiences were on L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream, L'Occitane Immortelle Reset Serum and L'Occitane Precious Overnight Mask.

If you are interested in L'Occitane products, one way to try out more of their products is to participate in their recycling program where you get to try some of their travel-sized products after sending in some empties for recycling. It is a win-win situation for both sides and I hope more brands will do that. 

After experiencing their Relaxing Pillow Mist via the recycling program, I started buying it for myself and others as Christmas gifts.

For the last 2 years, I relied mostly on weekly deep conditioning masks, rarely reaching for a regular conditioner. But ever since monthly hair coloring became a must (hello, stubborn greys), a moisturizing conditioner has become non-negotiable in my routine.

On normal days, I didn’t notice a dramatic change when using this conditioner. But after a fresh hair coloring session? The difference was night and day. My usually dry, straw-like post-color hair felt soft, smooth, and pudding-like—yes, that silky. Even better, it didn’t trigger any scalp flakiness, which is something I’ve often struggled with after coloring.

I purchased OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash sometime back, after falling in love with their body washes. Their body washes worked very well for me, but not the shampoos. 

This is formulated for children and can be used as a body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I purchased it, thinking it will be gentle for my sensitive skin and scalp.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash is a 400ml sized bottle with a flick top cap. The cap does not function well and cannot be closed fully, causing leakage at times. It has an artificial berry fragrance that may delight children but probably not discerning adults. 

How To Use :

Apply to wet hair, form a gentle lather then rinse. Apply to a moist puff or wash cloth & gently lather all over body then rinse.

Performance and Ingredients

I used OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash as a shampoo initially, but it was drying, causing my hair to be straw-like with horrible hair fall that I had to stop after 3 uses. 

As a body wash, the gel-like contents felt slightly sticky although it lathers and cleanses well. Not an ideal body wash, shampoo or conditioner and definitely not a repurchase. 

I realized it costs 3 times more in Singapore, as compared to buying in Australia, while researching for this post. What a disappointing and expensive purchase!

OC Naturals Berry Bliss Kids 3-in-1 Conditioning Shampoo & Body Wash may come in a fun, fruity scent that appeals to children, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. As a shampoo, it left my hair dry and brittle with noticeable hair fall after just a few uses. While it performs decently as a body wash in terms of lather, the slightly sticky texture and poor packaging—especially the faulty cap that leaks—add to the overall disappointment.

To make matters worse, I later discovered it’s priced nearly three times higher in Singapore compared to Australia, making it a costly and underwhelming purchase. Between the drying formula, ineffective 3-in-1 functionality, and inconvenient packaging, this is one I won’t be repurchasing.

I first tried the PHS Hairscience Adv Detangling Hair Spray back in 2018, followed by PHS HAIRSCIENCE FEM Daily Regime Starter Kit in 2022. The detangling spray was decent while the starter kit wasn't a good fit for me. 

PHS Pro Shampoo Stem C+ Calming Shampoo was recommended to me, after a hair scalp trial and treatment session, together with my sister and mother. Based on my hair condition, PHS Daily Essence, Tonic and weekly elixir, together with this shampoo were recommended for my hair routine but I purchased the shampoo and daily essence only. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

PHS Pro Shampoo Stem C+ Calming Shampoo is housed in a 500ml bottle with a pump dispenser. It has a calming scent and a slightly cooling sensation. The grey contents lather well. 

This product is made in Korea and does not contain parabens, mineral oil, artificial colorant and benzophenone.

This pre-shampoo product comes in a 155ml nozzle spray dispenser and does not have any scent. It is very watery and doesn't last long. I only managed to squeeze in 6 times of uses, with my long thick tresses.  

How To Use :

1) Apply slowly to dry hair, distributing evenly from root to tip.

2) Work No. 0 into small sections by squeezing the liquid into the hair to be fully absorbed as you go.

3) Lightly saturate from root to tip.

4) Hair should be damp, not drenched.

5) Let process for 10 minutes.

6) Rinse, shampoo and condition.

I came across this brand on Iherb ( Use OKI787 for 5% off your order ) while on the search for strengthening hair products where the reviews seem promising. My current favourite regular shampoos are Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo and Innersense Hydrating Cream Hairbath but I needed something to target hair loss.

As I Am Pomegranate & Passion Fruit Strengthening Shampoo has a sweet fruity pomegranate and passionfruit scent. It comes in a 355ml bottle with a flick top cap

Performance and Ingredients

While I really like the fruit zesty scent, foams slightly and how well it cleanses my hair, however there was hair fall which was heartbreaking as I could not afford to lose more hair than I already do. It was drying, left my hair straw-like during rinsing and tangled my hair after air-dried.

On Iherb, there was no indication that the shampoo was made for tightly coiled and curly hair which made me purchase it, but on the Our Story website, it seemed to imply that their products are specially formulated for tightly coiled and curly hair so you might have better luck if your hair falls into that category. 

The key ingredients are....

Pomegranate : Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals which nourish the scalp and strengthen hair.

Passion Fruit : High in vitamin C, which aids in collagen production essential for maintaining hair strength and elasticity.

Aloe Vera : Has natural moisturizing properties, which help to nourish the scalp and promote healthy hair.

To conclude, As I Am Pomegranate & Passion Fruit Strengthening Shampoo was a major disappointment. My hair was straw-like during rinsing and tangled after air-dried and along the way, there was hair fall. Not a repurcahse!

[ Review ] Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony

I purchased Klorane Soothing Shampoo (Peony) together with Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo (Oat Milk) some time back. While Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk worked relatively well on me, I can't say the same for Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony.

Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony is a 400ml product housed in a clear bottle with a flick top cap that dispenses the pink gel shampoo for use. It has a subtle floral fragrance and looks so pretty in pink.

How To Use :

1) Apply to wet Hair, lather and rinse thoroughly. 

2) No need to repeat application. 

note : Suitable for frequent use. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly.

Performance and Ingredients

Klorane Soothing Shampoo with Peony offers a calming sensation that helps soothe the scalp. It lathers lightly with gentle suds and cleanses effectively. However, I noticed an increase in hair fall after using it, which was disappointing and not ideal for my needs.

While I generally avoid shampoos with Sodium Laureth Sulfate, I decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately, it didn’t work well for me, so I won’t be repurchasing it. It’s not the best fit for my hair care routine.

Andalou Naturals Argan Stem Cell Shampoo is housed in a 340ml bottle with a flick top cap. It has a soothing and calming scent. The gel texture lathers easily too. 

How To Use :

Apply to wet hair, massage to clean and exfoliate scalp. Rinse thoroughly.

Optimum benefits with regular use. Gentle and color safe.

PhytoCellTec® Argan Stem Cells is said to support vitality for stronger strands with less breakage as argan oil nourishes and conditions for flexible strength and smooth manageability with noticeably fuller looking hair with amplified body, volume, and shine.

Andalou Naturals Argan Stem Cell Shampoo lathers and foams well but it was drying on my hair since Day 1, leaving my hair straw-like and causing hair fall. 

While it left my hair clean, soft and manageable, however, it was straw-like and caused more hair fall when wet. Not the perfect match for my hair.

To conclude, Andalou Naturals Argan Stem Cell Shampoo has been a disappointing purchase. While I like most of their products which I have used, this shampoo just isn't for me, causing my hair straw-like and increase hair fall. I do enjoyed the soothing and calming Ylang Ylang scent.

Despite being touted as a hair shadow to make your hair appear fuller, I actually purchased it to make the greys less obvious in-between scheduled hair colouring jobs. 

I am always looking for ways to "stretch" the days/weeks to my next hair colouring job to reduce the frequency of travelling to the hair salon (save time), to reduce the number of chemicals in my hair (less damaging) and to save money. Mamonde Pang Pang Hair Shadow comes in a cute pot of 3.5grams of contents. It has no fragrance and is housed like a pressed powder for the hair, with a puff enclosed. Open the lid and a mirror is revealed. Pull out the bottom lid and the puff application can be used to go "pang pang" on your hair.

Ever since I started working, my grey hairs have been increasing, and now I need to color my hair every 4-6 weeks. My peers are experiencing the same thing. Rishiri Color Shampoo is housed in a 200ml green opaque bottle with a flick top cap. Even though I chose dark brown, the colour appeared to be almost black so it was the right choice to choose dark brown since black colour can be too dark on mine.

There is not much of a scent and the consistency felt more like a thick concentrated kind of shampoo contents.

While the tube itself is pink and emits a subtle fragrance, the contents inside are surprisingly green, creating a striking contrast to the packaging. The texture is more akin to a lotion than a cream, providing a unique experience.

How To Use :

1) Apply to clean, towel-dried hair, massaging into scalp.

2) Leave on for 5-10 minutes then rinse.

 

Tip : Use it 1-2 times per week for the best results

This hair mask is recommended to be used on clean towel-dried hair for 10 minutes which I did. The experience was refreshing and calming, leaving a cool sensation on both my scalp and hair. Upon rinsing, my hair felt incredibly soft, smooth, nourished, and full of bounce.

Experimenting further, I tried using it as a pre-shampoo treatment, but the results weren't as impressive compared to applying it after shampooing. Regrettably, regardless of the application method, I still experienced some hair fall hence it won't be a repurchase.

To conclude, Hair Gain Nourishing Miracle Treatment Hair Mask has a lightweight lotion consistency leaving a cool sensation on both my scalp and hair during the 10 minutes treatment. Upon rinsing, my hair felt incredibly soft, smooth, nourished, and full of bounce. Unfortunately, hair fall ensued hence it won't be a repurchase.

[ Review ] Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask

Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask utilises Japan's salon technology, "Acid Heat Treatment", to treat highly damaged hair that is often exposed to heat and chemical treatment. This treatment uses acidic ingredients to repair and smoothen rough, frizzy and severely damaged hair.

It has been awhile since I used Lucido-L products so when I chanced upon Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask at Malaysia, I quickly purchased it. It was a relatively new product as I didn't see it in Singapore then.

In today's fast-paced world, finding time for regular salon visits can be a challenge. Factor in the costs involved, and it's no wonder many of us struggle to give our hair the care it truly deserves.

Recognizing the time and cost constraints that often accompany salon visits, Lucido-L has developed an innovative at-home solution that promises to revitalize your hair without the hassle.

Powered by Acid-Heat Treatment, a salon-grade technology widely used in Japan, known for its efficacy in improving damaged hair texture, it utilises Levulinic Acid, an acidic ingredient that penetrates deep into the hair cuticle, resulting in improved hair texture. When combined with heat from styling tools like hair dryers, it triggers a longer-lasting repairing effect.

This is a 29ml travel hair mask product which allows 3 uses, but I actually managed to use it over 5-6 times. The travel tube size is great for travelling and staycations while the sweet and refreshing osmanthus and grapefruit fragrance lingered. It has a creamy consistency and coats well on the hair. 

How To Use :

1) After shampooing, lightly drain the hair, apply it to the damaged part of the hair (amount of use: 2 medium-sized muscat pieces).

2) After leaving for 3 minutes, rinse thoroughly.

3) After drying with a towel, blow dry with a hair dryer while running your hands through it.

Tip : Recommend using once or twice a week.

Performance and Ingredients

Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask is said to promote a longer lasting repairing effect with the use of heat emitted from hair styling tools. With the heat, the acidic ingredients are penetrated further into the hair cuticle to improve the texture of the hair. (Repairing effect can also be achieved even without the use of hair styling equipment).

Naturally derived Astragalus flower extract and grapefruit rind oil are used to remove the particular smell of acid heat treatment formulas and give a refreshing citrus floral scent.

With every hair colouring job, my hair tends to be dry and tangled, hence I prefer to use hair mask continuously for that week, to improve hair softness, smoothness and hydration. 

Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask contains silicones to provide the "silky-ness" and softness. After each masking session ( which I tend to leave longer than required ), my hair is much more manageable, softer, straighter and looked less frizzy.

In conclusion, if you have dry, damaged and tangled hair, you may consider adding in Lucido-L High Damage Repair Hair Mask if you are not sensitive to silicones. I don't use silicones on my hair on a regular basis but only when its required. 

It left my long hair much more manageable, softer, straighter and looked less frizzy. 

For those with severely damaged hair, apply hair mask evenly across the hair surface and use once every 3 days. 

For those with damaged ends, apply hair mask on damaged area and use once a week.

The hair serum is light yellow in colour and comes with an additional pipette to switch out from its original screw-on cap, so that it can be used more conveniently on the scalp. It has a cooling sensation and absorb well. Mine is the 30 ml travel-sized glass bottle. 

How To Use : 

1) Start by applying 20 drops directly onto the scalp and hair line and massage in well. 

2) Smooth any excess of products through the length of your hair and do not rinse. 

Tip : Use this magic product once per day on towel-dried or dry hair to begin to see results of your thicker and healthier hair.

Vegan friendly, gluten free and formulated without Parabens, Sulphates, Silicones, Phthalates or Mineral Oil, Grow Gorgeous travel size Hair Growth Serum Intense is said to be supercharged with caffeine, organic pea sprout and a biomimetic peptide to boost the density of thinning hair.

With just 30ml in a bottle, I didn't follow through the usage of using 20 drops directly as it seems excessive and might be too heavy and damp on my mid-length hair. I either use it in the morning ( when I work from home ) or the night before ( after my washed hair has towel-dried ), so that the strong lush scent doesn't linger for others to smell, as it may be overpowering to some. 

It can also get pretty damp in the hair so I prefer to let it dry naturally after using the hair serum instead of tying my hair straight away. 

My hair crown has been getting flat and I mainly concentrate on those areas when I use the hair serum. After almost emptying the 30ml product, I do notice the crown was more lifted when I tied up my hair, instead of being too flat, so yes, it does help in making my hair looked slightly fuller-looking so I may repurchase a full sized bottle to see if it generates better results with continuous use. Hair is smoother and softer too.

Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk is a 400ml product. It is a housed in a clear bottle with a flick top cap that dispenses the white creamy shampoo for use. It has a subtle floral fragrance.

How To Use :

1) Apply to damp hair and scalp.

2) Work the shampoo into a lather and gently massage.

3) Rinse the hair and scalp. Rinse in case of contact with eyes.

Performance and Ingredients

Free of Sulfates, Silicone, Parabens, Mineral Oil, Essential Oil, Artificial Dye, Phthalates and DEA, Klorane Ultra-Gentle Shampoo with Oat Milk has a thick creamy texture which is gentle enough without causing irritation.

It lathers and cleanses well with minimal hair fall. Dandruff were reduced although they didn't disappear totally. Hair is soft, silky and nourished. 

Powered by Oat Milk, which is known for its soothing properties, clinically shown to soothe and protect hair and the natural balance of the scalp.

Shake well. Towel dry after shampooing. Spray Energizer™ Hair Follicle Stimulator on hair and scalp with special attention to the scalp in thinning areas.

When I first started using Hobe Labs Energizer Hair Follicle Stimulator, I didn't really like the fragrance. It smells weird but I got used to it after a while and its no longer an issue for me now. 

The Energizer Hair Follicle Stimulator isn't greasy so with some simple scalp/hair massaging after spraying on thinning areas like the crown and the sides in the morning, I can just leave for work immediately. Note that I tend to wash my hair the night before as I prefer sleeping with clean hair. 

I see an improvement after a month of regular usage - there was lesser hair fall and hair felt less oily even if I didn't wash it for a day. For the record, my hair usually turned greasy if I didn't wash it for a day. 

I stopped using it for a month and resumed back - similarly, it took me a month of regular usage before I see results - lesser hair fall, less oily and more volume during styling.
