Goodbye 2019 Hello 2020!

This is a scheduled post as I would be away during the New Year hence I would keep it short and sweet.

Today is the last day of 2019 and as usual, I would end my written journal with reflections, achievements, experiences, things to be grateful for and what I have learnt for the year. However, since I would be away, I will do that when I am back in early January.

For this blog, I am grateful for readers who read my reviews and hope that I have helped them in making better decisions in choosing the right products for their skin type.

For instagram, I am thankful to be able to collaborate with several brands and shops, happy to forge new friendships with like-minded skincare fanatics and also get to learn more about new products.

Goodbye 2019 and Welcome 2020! Here's wishing all of us a great 2020 and may it always be better than the previous year!

[ Review ] O'care Love Repair Hair Shampoo + Hair Treatment

Hair Shampoo Product Description
O'Care Love Repair Hair Shampoo contains the purest extraction of plants essence to give you the ultimate hair care. Pure Rose Essential oils and Ecocert Certified organic foaming ingredients cleanse frizzy damaged hair, rosemary extract effectively converges hair, herbal essences provide deep moisturizing of hair and scalp.

Hair Treatment Product Description
O'Care Love Repair Hair Treatment contains the purest extraction of plants essence to give you the ultimate hair care. Pure Rose Oil and other plant softening ingredients rapidly penetrate into hair and provide deep moisturizing making hair soft, silky shine and easy to manage.

I purchased O'care Love Repair Hair Shampoo and O'care Love Repair Hair Treatment when there was a sale in one of the hair salons in Orchard Gateway.

Made in Taiwan, O'care is manufactured using Eco-cert certified organic ingredients and both the Love Repair Shampoo and Treatment use 94% Organic and Natural Ingredients. They are also SLS and SLES free.

The Love Repair Hair Series are said to contain Pure Rose Essential Oils and Ecocert Certified Organic foaming ingredients which cleanse frizzy, damaged hair while rosemary extract effectively converges hair and herbal essences provide deep moisturizing of hair and scalp.

At 500ml, both the shampoo and hair treatment plastic bottles are large and sturdy which do not make them travel friendly but great on the bathroom top with easy access. The rose essential oil fragrance would be a great hit for those who are rose-scented fans!

The pump dispensers for both bottles worked pretty well in dispensing the contents. The shampoo does not lather much and was slightly drying initially, giving rise to clumpy hair but after using more conditioner, there was no more of such issue.

Unfortunately, after depleting the shampoo till the last 25%, I noticed that my hair started to get dandruff and turned oilier easily - it can't even last for a day. It could be that my hair has grown used to the shampoo and its no longer effective on mine.

The hair treatment contents are pink in colour, creamy and moderately nourishing to soften the hair. However, ever since I cut short my hair, I can even skip the conditioner, without feeling that my hair is dry. So it just points out that longer hair requires more nourishing conditioning.

To conclude, O'care Love Repair Hair Shampoo and Hair Treatment are great as daily hair maintenance products but not for those with severely damaged hair ends. And it seems that the shampoo may not be suitable for my hair type after awhile - giving rise to dandruff and oilier hair.

[ Review ] : EssentiQ Fruity Melissa Shower Gel

Review for EssentiQ Fruity Melissa Shower Gel
Product Description
A refreshing shower gel with natural extracts of fennel, hops, lemon balm, thousand-leaf, and camomile flower that has a calming effect on the skin and prevents its irritation. Lavender and rosemary oils clean the skin while petitgrain oil leaves a feeling of freshness. Organic aloe vera prevents skin inflammation and nourishes the skin with various nutrients, such as minerals, vitamins, proteins and enzymes.

Key Benefits
More than 95% of the total ingredients are of natural origin; At least 10% of the total ingredients comes from organic farming.
Free from formaldehydes, paraffins, propylene glycol, silicon or chlorine derivates, parabens, PEG, synthetic colouring agents, GMOs.

I purchased the 300ml sized EssentiQ Fruity Melissa Shower Gel from Naturelova when there was promotion and coupled with free shipping, it was a breeze ordering from them.

I have previously reviewed EssentiQ Calendula Grapefruit Shower Gel and EssentiQ Aloe Vera Berries 2 in 1 Shower Gel and Shampoo where they worked great on my skin, however, a repeat purchase of the Calendula Grapefruit Shower Gel was no longer a great fit, probably due to my drying aging skin.

I was hoping that EssentiQ Fruity Melissa Shower Gel would work great as the price point is friendly on the pocket but unfortunately, the shower gel was drying since Day 1.

It comes in a chirpy and cheerful opaque plastic bottle with a flick top cap. The light orange gel has a light fruity scent and provides just enough suds for lathering. However, it was pretty drying - the squeaky clean type of drying feel.

I would not repurchase it after depleting the bottle.

[ Review ] : Klavuu Blue Pearlsation Marine Collagen Aqua Mist

Review of Klavuu Blue Pearlsation Marine Collagen Aqua Mist
Product Description
A facial mist provides instant moisture replenishment, its light and minute moisture particle that can be used anytime during the day to refresh fatigue skin. No Methylparaben, No Benzyl alcohol, No Chlorphenesin.

I have previously reviewed Klavuu Divine Pearl Serum Mist and after depleting that, I have moved on to using Klavuu Blue Pearlsation Marine Collagen Aqua Mist. Klavuu is a very popular brand and I got sucked into all these hype and purchased these products but turned out that, they were pretty mediocre.

Klavuu Blue Pearlsation Marine Collagen Aqua Mist comes in a 120ml opaque aerosol spray that lasted me for almost 2 months, with twice a day usage. However, with such bottles, its difficult to grasp the contents as the weight always feel the same, no matter how much is used.

When I first started using the Aqua Mist, the alcohol scent was so strong that it almost turned me off. Now, I am used to it, but I wouldn't have purchase it, if I have known about the inclusion of alcohol.

Klavuu Blue Pearlsation Marine Collagen Aqua Mist Usage

The mist is fine and goes on well on skin without feeling like one is being drenched. The nozzle is a breeze to use, with just holding on to it, after a slight depression. It feels cooling and refreshing and is a great way to damp the skin before serum or facial oil application.

However, despite using it for close to 2 months, I failed to see any spectacular difference to skin. Yes, it provides instant moisture replenishment but there is no long term effect. Note that there is no ingredient list available on the packaging or online.

In conclusion, I would not recommend or repurchase this product as it does nothing for the skin despite the price tag. Have you tried this product? Let me know if you enjoy it.

[ Review ] Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Sensual Sugar Body Scrub

Product Description
For a moment of pure pleasure, our chain of experts, unique since 1959, has selected and combined Shea butter with organic Sugar Cane and Bourbon Vanilla extract. Its ultra-sensorial sugar texture effectively and gently eliminates dead skin cells and impurities. When it comes in contact with skin, it becomes a silky oil and leaves a nourishing and protective film on skin. Your skin is smooth, radiant and delicately scented with luminous and suave notes.

I am always on the lookout for body scrubs as I like keeping my skin soft, clean and smooth. Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Sensual Sugar Body Scrub seems like an interesting product so I pop one into my basket. Thank goodness, it was on sale for $5 during Luxasia sale because I really dislike it and would have hated it if I paid the full price.

It was quite a badly formulated product, in my opinion. Yes it smells alright, with a sweet sugary vanilla scent. However, it works differently as compared to how a usual body scrub is - the nitty gritty beads provides a light exfoliating action as you scrub your body before disappearing and changing into a sticky gummy-like texture, coating the skin with a layer of film, making your skin instantly smooth.

Perhaps this is considered as an innovative creation by Yves Rocher but to me, its like deceiving me, coating my skin with a film and trying to act like it has smoothened out your skin and if your fingers accidentally scratch your skin, the film got stuck underneath your nails - yucks!

I really really dislike the product. During the initial usages, I practically use my dry brushing brush to scrub away the film on my skin which then ended up as a chunk on my brush and I ended up having to scrub them off the brush instead.

So instead of doing a body exfoliation for my body only, it becomes scrubbing it off my body and my brush! That said, Yves Rocher Bourbon Vanilla Sensual Sugar Body Scrub has a sweet vanilla scent which may be a hit with vanilla fans.

In conclusion, I would not repurchase the body scrub or recommend it!

[ Review ] Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ( oat extract )

Product Description
The Supergoop! original, Everyday Sunscreen with Natural Oat Extract is a water-resistant formula that’s perfect for everyday use on both face and body. Lightweight and fast-absorbing, Everyday Sunscreen bears ultra-moisturizing results and is formulated with natural extracts of basil and bois de rose so that typical sunscreen smell is a thing of the past.

Benefits :
• Natural Oat Fraction provides immediate comfort and helps protect against free radical damage
• Candle Bush Extract helps shield against environmental damage
• Marine Micro-Organism From Deep-Sea Hydrothermal Vents reinforces skin integrity

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, sunscreen is the key to helping prevent skin cancer, and everyone should be using it regardless of age, race or gender. They can help protect your skin against premature aging and wrinkles, dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Supergoop! was started in 2007 with a mission to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen so that everyone will use it Every. Single. Day. To make wearing SPF easier than ever, the brand infuses it into your favorite skincare and beauty essentials with superpowered formulas that shield your skin from the full spectrum of light and other aggressors (like pollution and more).

And since the brand believes all of this should be fun, too, they’re named Supergoop!...because you can’t help but smile when you say it!

Packaging, Scent and Texture

After depleting the Supergoop Soothing Mineral Sunscreen SPF40, I moved on to using Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 which also comes in a similar 30ml size as they were part of a value set I purchased some time back.

I adored the slim tube packaging where its portable and convenient for travels without taking up too much space as well as being suitable for both face and body. It has a subtle typical sunscreen scent mixed with natural extracts of lemon, orange, basic and bois de rose.

After absorption

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen has a creamy lightweight lotion texture that feels cooling on skin but has a slight sheen with a subtle greasy after-feel.

Performance and Ingredients

Said to be oil-free, Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum is waterproof and protects the skin against UVA and UVB where the formula also combats dryness and dehydration due to the inclusion of a unique oat beta-glucan that's proven to deliver long-term and deep moisturization.

It applies well on skin with a slight tackiness that goes away after awhile. There was a slight sheen and a subtle greasy after-feel which became minor issues after makeup ( with my all-time favourite VMV Hypoallergenics Skintangible "Faint''ation BBBB Cream and RMS "Un" Powder ). But why is it touted as oil-free when it clearly isn't?

In terms of ingredients, Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ( oat extract ) uses the following ingredients :

Avobenzone 3% : One of the only two effective UVA blockers, one chemical and one mineral (Avobenzone and Zinc Oxide). Avobenzone was approved by the FDA in 1988 for its ability to absorb UVA rays, which cause premature aging and skin cancer.

According to this source, tests have revealed Avobenzone’s tendency to significantly degrade in light over time, lessening its sun protection capabilities. UV absorbers such as octocrylene and non-UV filters (e.g., diethylhexyl 2, 6-napththalate) often accompany avobenzone in a cosmetic formula. Antioxidants (such as vitamin E and ubiquinone) also show promise for enhancing avobenzone’s photostability.

Avobenzone appears to be relatively non-toxic and non-irritating to the skin. However, because it is often used in conjunction with photo-stabilizers, there is a greater risk for skin irritation and low-level toxicity. Furthermore, some studies have demonstrated it to be absorbed by the body and secreted into urine, and is therefore not recommended to use on children or pregnant women

Octisalate 5% : An organic compound used as an ingredient in sunscreens and cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. Although the Cosmetics Ingredient Review notes that reproductive and developmental toxicity can occur in relation to Salicylic Acid, one of the two primary components of Octisalate, it has determined that the levels used in cosmetic and beauty products would not cause any adverse reaction. Importantly, the FDA has approved Octisalate for use in sunscreen with up to 5% concentration. Octisalate receives an EWG hazard rating of 4.

Octinoxate 7.5% : An efficient UVB filter. It is an excellent, globally-recognized UVB filter and is suitable for water-resistant sun care cosmetics. This product is a good solvent for powder sunscreens and achieves high SPF when used with other UVB filters. It provides partial UVA protection and full UVB protection. Octinoxate also protects cosmetics and personal care products from deterioration caused by UV rays.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted an OTC drug review of Octinoxate and did approve it for use in OTC sunscreens up to a concentration of 7.5%. However, according to EWG, Octinoxate is an endocrine disruptor that mimics estrogen and can disrupt thyroid function, with a moderate hazard level of 6.

Homosalate 10% : An effective oil soluble liquid UV-B absorber. It is an excellent solubilizer for crystalline UV absorbers such as Avobenzone or Ethylhexyl Triazone.
It is an organic compound that belongs to a class of chemicals called salicylates. Salicylates prevent direct skin exposure to the sun’s harmful rays by absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light. Homosalate specifically absorbs short-wave UVB rays, which are associated with DNA damage and increased risk of skin cancer. There have been controversial articles that state that Homosalate is a potential endocrine disruptor and studies in cells suggest it may impact hormones. In addition to direct health concerns following homosalate exposure, the chemical may also enhance the absorption of pesticides in the body ( source ).

You can read about all the different sunscreen chemicals here, done up in a comparison table by EWG.

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ( sunflower extract ) - upgraded formula
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
Supergoop Everyday Play Lotion

Conclusion

To conclude, Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ( oat extract ) would not be a product I repurchase due to the slight sheen and light greasy film as there are many sunscreens in the market with more elegant textures. We are simply spoilt for choices!
Adding on, this is a chemical sunscreen with controversial ingredients, depending on what you believe in. However, do note that at the point of writing, this sunscreen has been upgraded to one with sunflower extract.

[ Quick Review ] Curel Whitening Lotion II, Whitening Moisture Essence & Whitening Moisture Face Milk

Review of Curel Whitening Lotion II, Whitening Moisture Essence & Whitening Moisture Face Milk

Curél's new whitening skincare range for dry and sensitive skin was launched in September this year which is said to help in
1) gentle brightening of dark spots and freckles
2) suppressing melanin production
3) improving skin moisture level for clear and radiant skin.

I redeemed a complimentary Curel Whitening Moisture Series Trial Kit from their Facebook sampling ad which consists of Curel Whitening Lotion II 8ml, Whitening Moisture Essence 3ml and Whitening Moisture Face Milk 8ml, enabling me to use for about 5 days for the lotion, 6 days for the essence and slightly more than a week for the face milk, twice a day.

I really enjoyed such sampling kits for me to try out the texture of the products before investing in the full sizes. It helps one to make a more informed choice and reduce waste.

Made in Japan, Curel Whitening Moisture Series help to inhibit melanin production to prevent dark spots and freckles and replenishes function of ceramide in skin to improve skin moisture and radiance.

[ Review ] : Sabon Delicate Jasmine Hand Cream

Product Description
SABON's hand cream is enriched with Shea Butter and Aloe-Vera to protect, relax and calm the skin. SLS and Paraben Free.

This is my first foray into Sabon, a UK brand with products made in Israel, using high quality natural ingredients such as salt, mud, algae (weeds) from the Dead Sea, and carefully select botanicals elements from the Mediterranean and beyond, such as Olive oil, Shea butter and essential oils from various plants and fruits. You can read more about the history here.

Sabon's hand creams come in many type of fragrances - Patchouli Lavender Vanilla, Musk, Green Rose, Almonds, Dead Sea, Lavender Apple, Ginger Orange, Citrus Blossom, Delicate Jasmine and in different variants - Hand Cream, Butter Hand Cream and Mineral Hand Cream.

I purchased Sabon Delicate Jasmine Hand Cream 30ml when there was a sale and there was no tester but was told that this was one of the popular ones. Unfortunately, I did not quite like the scent.

The fragrance hits me the moment I opened the cap and reminds me vaguely of  Caudalie. The tube is beautifully illustrated with pretty prints and would make a great gift for friends or just sits prettily at the office desk.

However, I just couldn't get past the scent when it lingers on your hands. Its overpowering and choking as well as being unpleasant. I never know Jasmine to be that awful. Then again, scent can be pretty subjective so you could be liking it more than me.

The white coloured lightweight buttery formula applies easily, leaving a very slight shine behind but as with most hand creams I owned, they were never moisturising enough for my perpetually dry hands.

If you just need one for daily maintenance, they might do the trick or perhaps get their butter hand creams which are said to be more heavy duty.

[ Review ] So'Senz Eclat Lumiere

Product Description
A fresh and gentle facial scrub that deeply exfoliates and cleanses. Thanks to is jojoba microbeads, your skin will feel soft, clean, and moisturized.

So'Senz Eclat Lumiere is another popular product sent over by So'Senz Singapore. You can check out my previous reviews on their versatile toner and award-winning serum. So'Senz Singapore carries a range of certified organic products from France which include products for both genders on So' Senz Singapore.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Made in France, Eclat Lumiere, a facial scrub, comes in a 75ml tube that dispenses the gel-like scrub effortlessly, with some light depressions.

Texture of So'Senz Eclat Lumiere
So'Senz Eclat Lumiere Texture

Texture of So'Senz Facial Scrub
So'Senz Eclat Lumiere After Massaging

The floral scent was alittle strong for my likes but bearable. The texture is like a gel with some pink beads enveloped within it. Gentle and mild, Eclat Lumiere should suit even the most sensitive skin.

Performance and Ingredients

Similar to So'Senz Serum Lumiere, So'Senz Eclat Lumiere has a short life span once its opened, largely due to its natural ingredients, so you have to deplete it within 3 months.

With twice/thrice a week usage, it can be difficult to use it all up on your own within the time frame, so its best to share with your partner or extend the scrub, as recommended, all the way to neck and decollete. I don't like to waste products so I have been sharing it with my hubby and we are on track to finishing it soon!

I like how mild and gentle the facial scrub it is, without much worries of aggravating the broken capillaries on the sides of my nose. It left my skin feeling softer and smoother. It also helps to remove dirt, oil and dead skin hence the pores look smaller and cleaner, which are more obvious on my nose.

In terms of ingredients, So'Sen Eclat Lumiere uses jojoba beads for the exfoliation which is a great choice because it is naturally sourced, relatively gentle and the edges of the bead are smooth . This smooth shape avoids microscopic tears on the skin surface.

So'Senz Eclat Lumiere Full Ingredients

Conclusion

To conclude, So'Senz Eclat Lumiere is a gentle scrub for all types of skin, including sensitive skin, making your skin softer and slightly smoother. However, if you are used to more abrasive facial scrubs, then this would not be the one for you.

[ Review ] So'Senz Serum Lumiere

Review of So'Senz Serum Lumiere

Serum Lumiere Product  Description
Award-winning serum with a high concentration of essential oils of Chamomile, Neroli and Rosewood to nourish, moisturize and protect your skin.

How To Use :
Warm up serum in the palm of your hands, before directly applying to your face and neck. Always be sure to avoid the sensitive eye area. For best results, use Serum Lumiere as a base, before applying Lumière du jour and/or Lumière de nuit.

Thanks to So'Senz Singapore for sending me their bestselling products which are of organic and natural origins, made in France. Their range consists of facial scrub, cleansing water, serum, day cream and night cream. On top of that, they also carry products formulated for men!

So'Senz Serum Lumiere was recently touted as the best facial serum ( pore refining ) in Beauty Insider Reader's Choice Awards 2019 so of course, I was elated to be able to incorporate the serum in my skincare routine for the past 3 months.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Serum Lumiere is a lovely serum and I simply adore the soothing and calming scent which is much welcomed after a busy work day.

Texture of So'Senz Serum Lumiere

The clear lightweight gel-like serum has a hint of greasiness so its best to apply sparingly. Less is more and 1 pump is enough for me.

Housed in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser, So'Senz Serum Lumiere, a regenerating youth serum, dispenses the serum through a small hole but unfortunately, it spurts occasionally instead of flowing naturally into my palms so some of the contents tend to end up on my face.

On first glance, the bottle looks elegant with its reflective silver finishing but after a month of daily usage, I noticed that the silver finishing on the rims near to the dispenser flakes, leaving the "debris" onto my serum contents and eventually ended up on my face and finger pads ( from using the dispenser ).

I tried decanting the contents into a smaller tub, to avoid the messiness of the silver debris but I ended up using more than my usual amount of serum as I am used to using 1 pump directly from the dispenser hence I have to "re-learn" on the ratio of contents required for my face.

Hopefully, the packaging issues are just a one-off and only pertaining to my bottle. However, I have to add on that, the dispenser worked pretty well where it can easily reach and pump out the remaining contents, right to the last drop. Kudos for that!

Performance and Ingredients

Initially, I was over-zealous and applied too much, making my skin looked greasy and shiny but after getting the ratio correct with just 1 pump of the serum, my skin becomes very smooth, soft and supple. I even love touching my skin! Skin is nourished and looked dewy.

However, do note that due to the natural ingredients, the lifespan is pretty short - at 3 months ( counting from the day when its opened ). I actually thought I wouldn't be able to deplete it, but surprisingly, after 3 months of twice daily usage, I actually manage to use it up!

In terms of ingredients, So'Senz Serum Lumiere contains a high concentration of essential oils and Chamomile, Neroli, Petitgrain and Rosewood to nourish, moisturize and protect your skin. These oils are 100% natural and not tested on animals, free from parabens, chemical and petroleum derivatives and synthetic fragrances.

Sesame oil: rich in vitamin E, it helps maintain cell membrane integrity and prevents skin dryness. Also protects against external aggressions.
Essential oil of wild Chamomile: soothing action.
Essential oil of Neroli: radiance and tonicity.
Essential oil of Rosewood: with a delicious flowery fragrance.
Essential oil of Petitgrain: purifies, also delivers a relaxing effect.
Vitamin E: antioxidant, protects the skin against the harmful effects of free radicals.
Carrot oil: provides a healthy glow effect.

Conclusion

To conclude, So'Senz Serum Lumiere is a great serum for nourishment and protection, making my skin very soft, smooth, supple and dewy, but only if you get the ratio of the contents correct, in the first place.

Check out my reviews on So'Senz Eau Nettoyante and So'Senz Eclat Lumiere.

Review of So'Senz Eau Nettoyante
Eau Nettoyante Product Description

Gently apply on the face and neck with a facial cotton pad. Repeat until the pad is completely clean. Can also be used to remove traces of makeup.

So'Senz Singapore reached out to me some time back, to see if I would be keen to try out some of their products without any obligation to post the reviews. Its not very often that I come across organic products made in France that are available in Singapore, so I was thankful for the opportunity to try them.

Based in Singapore, So’Senz is an organic and natural cosmetics range manufactured in France. It is a symphony of simple products made from extracts of trees, plants and flowers.

All their products are certified Ecocert, to bring full transparency regarding the manufacturing channel and the use of ingredients. Their products do not contain any unauthorised synthetic preservatives ( parabens, phenoxyethanol, EDTA, DMDM ), glycol ether, silicone, synthetic perfume and dye and are not tested on animals.

Being a new brand for me, I chose these popular products - So'Senz Eau Nettoyante, Serum Lumiere and Eclat Lumiere to incorporate into my skincare routine for the past 1.5 - 3 months. My routine consists of daily usage with So'Senz Eau Nettoyante ( cleansing water/toner ) and Serum Lumiere ( serum ) coupled with Eclat Lumiere ( facial scrub ) twice a week.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Made in France, So' Senz Eau Nettoyante is housed in a 200ml clear bottle with a flick top cap that dispenses the contents easily without spillage. It lasted me for about 1.5 months with twice daily usage.

The texture has a watery-light consistency and sinks into my combination-dehydrated skin fast, leaving a slight tacky finishing which disappeared after a short while. It is colourless and has a soothing and calming fragrance.

Performance and Ingredients

Eau Nettoyante, in French, meant cleansing water, but So' Senz Eau Nettoyante is more than that, it is a Cleaning, Moisturizing and Toning Organic Rose Water. It can also helps to remove excess oil and make your pores look smaller (good news for oily skin) as well as help to restore the pH of your skin and control acne.

This is how I usually use So' Senz Eau Nettoyante :

As A Cleansing Water :
Works effectively in removing light makeup which includes sunscreen, BB Cream, loose powder and eye makeup. I have not tried it on mascara or heavy makeup to be able to attest to its efficacy.

As A Toner ( Hands ) :
Pour toner in my palms and pat it all over my face. Skin feels much nourished.

As A Toner ( Cotton Pads ) :
I poured the toner onto my usual cotton pads and swipe it all over my face gently, like what I usually did for other branded toners. There is no difference in using cotton pads or hands, however, it is more convenient in using cotton pads but more wastage in contents.

I would suggest if you had make-up prior to cleansing, its best to use cotton pads, to ensure all remnants are removed cleanly, but if you did not apply any makeup, just use your hands to pat the toner all over your skin.

As A Lotion Mask :
Pour toner over 5 cotton pads and layer it on skin ( forehead, both cheeks, nose and chin ) like a lotion mask, made famous by Chizu Saeki many years ago. Skin is left feeling soft and hydrated.

In terms of ingredients, the key ingredient, Rosa Damascena Flower Water has been shown to exhibit anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant qualities according to research which thus can help to improve and relieve signs of inflammation such as redness, acne or dermatitis.

However, do note that the list contains orange peel oil and lavender oil so if you have very sensitive skin, then you may need to be cautious and do a patch test first.

Conclusion

To conclude, I enjoyed using Eau Nettoyante and like that it is a versatile product. You can use it to remove make-up like a cleansing water, use it as a toner after cleansing and because it is Organic Rose Water, I also use it like a lotion mask to keep my skin moisturised. A 3 in 1 product that is great for travels and save space to buy more overseas!

I purchased a box of Shangpree Marine Energy Eye Mask when I was in Korea late last year, after reading much rave reviews on them. Other than taking Beauty Food For Softer Skin and Brighter Eyes, eye patches can be a quick way to making your eyes look less tired instantly.
