Reverie Touch, a Malaysian brand carrying skincare products operating since 2017 ( Instagram: reverietouchhq ) reached out to me back in November and offered a collaboration with their newly formulated rubber mask with better texture and better quality that was to be launched soon.
There were some delays thereafter but finally, their 2 types of rubber masks were successfully launched in March this year. Their products are formulated in Korea and made in Malaysia. Vegan and cruelty-free.
According to the brand, Rosy Glow and Green Tea Fresh are suitable for all skin types where Rosy Glow focuses on brightening and moisturizing and Green Tea Fresh focuses on refreshing and cleansing.
My previous experience with Cell Bn Cellxv Peel-Off Modelling Mask was a fun and effective masking session so I was looking forward to trying out Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask and Reverie Touch Green Tea Rubber Mask.
Rubber masks, also known as modelling masks, are a great way to drive skin active ingredients into the skin after cleansing or exfoliating the face. After the skin is properly prepared, a rubber mask increases absorption and efficiacy of any skin actives.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first received the box of goodies. Both boxes of masks were neatly packed in a pink box, together with a personalized card message, a spatula and a R cookie with my name on it. It was so beautifully presented but unfortunately, the cookie was broken upon arrival. *sob* That said, the PR box definitely made the recipient feel valued and special.
Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask is enriched with natural goodness of Rose and Licorice Extract, as it aims to nourish and brighten dull skin to achieve a lit from within glow. Coupled with moisture-loving Allantoin and Hyaluronic Acid, softer and smoother skin is guaranteed from the first use.
Suitable for all skin types, this mask is best for brightening, soothing and moisturising purposes. Each box comes with 4 individually packed sachets like those instant coffee types. Simple and pretty.
How To Use :
1) Pour 1 full sachet ( 15g ) of Rosy Glow into a bowl.
2) Add 1 tablespoon ( 15ml ) of filtered water into the bowl to get a 1 : 1 ratio.
3) Mix to a toothpaste consistency then apply mixture onto face.
4) Leave mask for 10 - 15 minutes and gently peel off once dry.
Tip : You can mix Rosy Glow with hydrating toner/essence but they must be the watery kind.
Thankfully, I already own a white silicone bowl and a 2-way mixer/spread that came together with my last modelling mask so it was easy to get into the groove with the exact amount of water required.
The powder is pink in colour but I could not really detect any rose scent. Pour the powder into a bowl and add the required amount of water before applying the mask with the spatula.
Rosy Glow with 15ml Water |
The recommended 15ml water to the 15ml powdery mask was insufficient as the mixture was too dry for usage as shown in the picture above, so I added another 5ml of water as shown below.
Rosy Glow with 20ml Water |
The 20ml water was more suitable as its easier to stir, mix and apply on skin. You have to be quick as it dries up fast to become a lumpy mixture. Once applied, it has a cooling, calming and cold sensation that feels very refreshing, thereafter, it would harden to a rubbery texture.
There was a tightening feel, barely 5 minutes after layering. I waited for another 5 minutes, before removing the rubbery mask and rinsing the skin. The rubbery mask can be easily peeled off in several pieces.
There was a subtle taut sensation on the upper lips area. My face looked clear, fresh and slightly brighter. Skin felt smooth, soft with refined pores.
Rosy Glow with 20ml Isntree HA Toner |
I also tried using the Rosy Glow powder with 20ml of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner as a morning mask, without face cleansing. The mixture was smoother and less lumpy.
I avoided using it on my forehead as I had some sensitive issues on that area that day, hence the end mixture on the face was thicker and was able to be peeled off in large chunks.
However, there was a whitish outline all over the mask on my face ( check the above picture ) although it did not affect the application or performance. Using the toner was more hydrating as I did not experience any taut sensation on the upper lips after removing the mask.
Skin was clear and fresh-looking, smooth and soft with some deep cleansing on the sides of nose, leaving some yellow sebum behind which I need to clean off with a cotton bud.
Rosy Glow with 25ml Isntree HA Toner |
On another day, I mixed the powdery Rose Glow with 25ml of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner after cleansing. The mixture was so much better and I like the thick creamy ( slightly runny than 20ml ) consistency which I can apply to the skin easily with the spatula.
The cooling sensation using the spatula was such a treat and there was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes on the face. I managed to remove the mask in several large pieces after 10 minutes. My face looked clear and fresh. Skin felt smooth, soft with refined pores.
In terms of ingredients, Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask contains the following...
Rose : Anti-inflammatory and nourishes dull and tired skin.
Licorice Root : A potent antioxidant which safely brightens uneven skin tone.
Allantoin : Gently moisturizes and promotes wound healing.
Hyaluronic Acid : A powerful humectant that attracts and retains moisture for dewy skin.

Conclusion
After trying all the various methodologies ( water, toner before cleanse and toner after cleanse ) with Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask, my sweet spot is applying 20ml - 25ml of a hydrating toner ( and in this case, is the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner as its more hydrating than using water alone. Its best to use after cleansing and then follow up with the usual skincare routine.
My face looked clear and fresh. Skin felt smooth, soft with refined pores.

4) Leave mask for 10 - 15 minutes and gently peel off once dry.
Tip : You can mix Green Tea with hydrating toner/essence but they must be the watery kind.
Green Tea with 15ml Water |
Green in colour, the powder has a subtle green tea scent and 20ml water is more suitable for a good application, rather than the 15ml water as per recommendation.
Green Tea with 20ml Water |
There was a cooling and calming sensation during application and throughout the masking session. Apply quickly before it dries up.
Similarly to the Rosy Glow, the mixture has a tightening sensation on skin, barely 5 minutes after application. Peel off after 10 minutes and viola!
Skin looked clear and fresh and is much brighter than with Rosy Glow. Pores looked much refined. The redness on forehead ( sensitivity issue after a facial ) was moderately calmed and hydrated as the flakiness was reduced after masking.
I also tried using the Green Tea powder with 20ml of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner as a morning mask, without face cleansing. I avoided applying the forehead due to some sensitivity issues ( not because of this product ).
Sadly, the mixture was quite lumpy, unlike with Rosy Glow, hence it was slightly more difficult to apply so you need to apply quickly.
There was a cooling, calming and refreshing sensation from application to layering with a tightening feel barely 5 minutes into the session.
After a 10 minute masking session, peel off the mask in large chunks ( due to a thicker layer as I did not apply the mask on the forehead ) and looked into the mirror! Skin looked clear and fresh, and was soft and smooth to the touch. There was some deep cleansing at work with yellow sebum found on both sides of nose and a cotton bud easily clean them up.
On another day, I mixed Green Tea Rubber Mask with 20ml of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner and applied on face after cleansing. I didn't apply the mask on the forehead due to some sensitivity issues after a facial.
The mixture was lumpy so as usual, I need to apply the mixture quickly to avoid drying up. There was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes. After 10 minutes, peel off the rubber mask and skin looked clear, fresh, brighter looking with refined pores.

Conclusion
After trying out Reverie Touch Green Tea Rubber Mask with water, with toner ( before and after cleanse ), my preferred method would be with 20ml - 25ml of of Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner. Skin looked clear, fresh and brighter looking and was soft and smooth to the touch.
Overall Summary
To conclude, Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask and Reverie Touch Green Tea Rubber Mask had been fun. If you have not tried a rubber mask before, you might find it slightly bothersome as you need to get a bowl and a water measuring "spatula", mix the powdery mask with the water/toner/essence and then apply on skin.
That said, any clean bowl will do, although I prefer it to be a bowl not reserved for food as this mask is not edible after all. Thereafter, just add in your desired water/toner/essence and judge by eye to get your desired texture if you do not have a measuring "spatula" on hand.
To be honest, the difference in the effects from using both masks was not drastic. Unlike what the recommendation and description says, 20ml to 25ml water/toner was much preferred and I seemed to get brighter looking skin from using the Green Tea Rubber Mask, instead of the Rosy Glow mask.
Both masks gave me clear, fresh, smooth and soft skin with refined pores.
If I really have to choose between both variants, then Reverie Touch Green Tea Rubber Mask would be a better one, for my skin type.
Once again, thanks to Reverie Touch for sending Reverie Touch Rosy Glow Rubber Mask + Green Tea Rubber Mask in return for my honest reviews as part of a paid collaboration.
