Bag of Beautiful has offered to send over Cellxv Peel-Off Modelling Mask for my honest review. It comes in a 500g aluminium foil bag as shown above, with a spatula, a 2-way mixer / spread and a white silicone mixing bowl kept in another white drawstring bag.
The packaging looked presentable as a gift for yourself or for friends and colleagues and can definitely last for several months.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
The Peel-Off Modelling Mask is a 500g of powder contained in a resealable aluminium foil-like bag. Milky white in contents, the subtle scent reminds me of the mask used as the last step in the facial salon I frequented.
How To Use :
1. Mix 30g of the powder with 25ml-30ml of lukewarm water.
2. Apply the mixture evenly over the face with the spatula included.
3. Leave on for 15-20 minutes until the mask is dried.
4. Gently remove mask.
Tips
1. Use your favourite toner in replacement of water for better results.
2. Before applying the mask, slab on your favourite serum! The mask will help penetrate the serum deeper into the skin for better effectiveness.
Performance and Ingredients
Peel-Off Modelling Mask is such a fun to do mask for self care days! Suitable for all skin types, it is recommended to use the mask twice a week to maximize the benefits.
Said to provide the skin with the hydration it needs while clearing out the impurities, it is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid for necessary moisture and nutrient the skin craves.
The modelling mask may seem a little bothersome to be used initially but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty interesting and you get the WOW effect from it. It makes one feel like you just come out of a spa session, at the comfort of your own home.
That said, the application does get alittle messy so I usually prefer to apply it when I am at the bathroom sink as the mask contents splatter around the sink, depending on how runny the mask is.
Once the powder is mixed with the water ( use the spatula provided ) using the mixing bowl, do stir it quickly as it dries up pretty fast and you have to apply on the face then. Once applied, it has a cooling cold sensation that feels very relaxing, thereafter, it would harden to a rubbery texture. After 15 to 20 minutes, you can remove the rubbery mask and rinse your skin. Depending on the ratio of water to powder, the mask can either be removed in bits and pieces or in 1 piece. depending on the thickness of the rubbery-textured mask.

Mix 30g of the powder with 25ml-30ml of lukewarm water
If I followed the recommended instruction of adding 30g powder with 25ml water, it is almost impossible to apply with the spatula as the mixture was too runny and kept dripping all over my face and down to the sink. I ended up using my fingers to scoop up the contents for application. Pretty messy. It was also difficult to scoop up the measured quantity using the funnel end of the 2-way mixer.
The dried-up mask peels off in bits and pieces, instead of 1 piece which was understandable due to the thin material. Hands felt slightly drying and after rinsing off, there was a slight taut sensation on the upper lips area. Skin looked slightly brighter and pores looked more refined.
Mix powder to water in ratio of 2 : 1
Because of significantly lesser water, the mixing was alittle tough as its difficult to mix and one have to be pretty quick before it dries up to clumps and would be difficult to apply on the skin. However, I like the thick consistency which I can apply to the skin easily with the spatula.
The cooling sensation using the spatula was such a treat and there was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes on the face. I managed to remove the mask in 1 large piece after 15 minutes. Skin is slightly brighter.

Mix 2 scoops of powder with 40ml water
Bag of Beautiful recommended 2 scoops of powder with 60ml water for instances when you want the mask to cover the face abundantly. However, as a personal preference, I tweaked it to 40ml of water as I wanted the mixture to be less runny. While the final mixture was definitely less runny than the 30g : 25ml ratio, it can still drip down from the neck so its always better to apply the mask at the sink.
There was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes and I removed the mask after 10 minutes which peeled off in 2 large pieces. Skin looked slightly brighter and more even-toned.
Use your favourite toner in replacement of water
This is one of the recommended tips for better results so I replaced water with Skylake Herb Relax Toner ( which I am currently using in my skincare routine ) at 50ml powder with 25ml water using the funnel end of the 2-way mixer. The mixture was thick like the 2 : 1 ratio method and it was easy to apply with the spatula without any drippy messiness.
There was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes and I removed the mask after 10 minutes. Skin looked brighter and glowy.
Before applying the mask, slab on your favourite serum
This is one of the recommended tips to help penetrate the serum deeper into the skin for better effectiveness hence for this method, I apply 5erenity Renew Serum ( which I am currently using in my skincare routine ) before applying the mask.
For the mask ratio, I applied 2 : 1 for powder to water and add in just slightly more water for easier mixing and application. There was a tightening sensation after 5 minutes and I removed the mask after 10 minutes which peeled off in 2 large pieces.
Skin looked slightly brighter and pores looked more refined.

After trying all the different ratios of powder to water, I actually prefer a thicker consistency for application as I really enjoyed the cooling sensation from using the spatula and then peeling it off in 1 large piece hence the ratio of powder to water at 2 : 1 ( with slightly more water than the ratio 1 ) is my preferred application.
Formulated solely with EWG certified ingredients, Cell BN Cellxv Peel-Off Modelling Mask is said to leave your skin brightened as well as moisturised. Amethyst powder enhances skin firmness while helping cleanses above impurities within pores. Marine collagen infused refines epidermis texture, giving it bouncy and supple.
Unfortunately, while I do not have the full list of ingredients in English, I found something similar online but accuracy not guaranteed.
I have also attached a picture of the ingredient list in Korean from my packaging so you can do a comparison.
To conclude, I really enjoyed my first Peel-Off Modelling Mask at the comfort in my own home. If you use more powder, there would be a tightening sensation which may help in face lifting. My preferred mixture would be one with a ratio of powder to water at 2 :1 ( sometimes I may use lesser powder or slightly more water ) in order to get a thicker consistency for easier application and removal.
You can play around with the ratio of powder to water to get your desired consistency and this is the fun of it. Replacing it with your favourite toner or applying a serum prior to mask application are some of the great tips by Bag of Beautiful!
I enjoyed the cold sensation and love how soothing, cooling and refreshing the mask is, as though I just had a spa session. If you have dull skin, do consider trying out Cell BN Cellxv Peel-Off Modelling Mask for brighter glowing skin and more refined pores.
