Product Description
This rice toner includes 77.78% of rice extract, having clear benefits in elasticity care. Its formation of a protective barrier is not only effective in preventing water loss but also eliminates dead skin cells, making the skin moisturized and luster through rebalancing dry and tired skin. This rice toner is not limited to specific skin types as it fits well with all, including oily, sensitive, dry, and combination skin types.
I'm From Rice Toner is one of the products I chose for my 2nd Wishtrend collaboration. You can read my review on I'm From Mugwort Essence.
This toner is highly raved by most who have used it but it wasn't my favorite when I first started using it. Lets delve down to understand why.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Similarly to I'm From Mugwort Essence, I'm From Rice Toner is housed in a slim tall clear plastic bottle with a screw-on cap. It has a lightweight milky texture ( with 2 phases ) and doesn't have any fragrance.
How To Use :
1) Before use, shake well to mix the water and emulsion layers.
2) After cleansing, dispense on a cotton pad and wipe off or press onto dry areas.
Tips
- This is a dual layer toner consisting of a water layer and emulsion layer. Shake well before use.
- Soak the toner with a cotton pad and use as a local mask on areas that need soothing.
Performance and Ingredients
With a pH of 6.9±1.0, vegan and cruelty free and formulated without artificial fragrances and colors, parabens, sulfates, animal products, alcohol, mineral oils, essential oils, and silicone, I'm From Rice Toner is packed with 77.78% goami rice extracts, provides anti-wrinkle and brightening care while delivering moisturizing benefits. It revitalizes dull-looking skin and delivers intense moisture, while brightening the complexion.
Other key ingredients include rice bran extract, amaranthus caudatus seed extract and portulaca oleracea extract, which provide nourishing and soothing effects. Also contains niacinamide to further boost skin's radiance. Formula treats skin concerns such as dry or fatigued skin as well as aging skin with fine lines.
As age creeps up, I have been loving milky toners of late, such as XOUL Calming Cell Toner and Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner so when I chanced upon the highly raved I'm From Rice Toner, I was sold!
Unfortunately, I did not like it upon first use or subsequent uses. It always left my skin looking shiny, regardless if I use it as a regular toner or as lotion mask.
Thereafter I have one zit every 2 days so I stopped using it for 3 days but yet another new zit formed. Getting increasingly frustrated, I did not reach out for the product for 2 whole months till my skin healed and is in a stable condition.
I brought it along for my Carribean Cruise and that was when everything changed for the better. My skin was dehydrated from the constant air-conditioning and also from the heat of the sun. I needed nourishment and more masking, and I'm From Rice Toner did the job well.
It was nourishing and left my skin plumped and supple. I used it as a lotion mask ( poured on several thin cotton pads and layered on my face ) and as a spot treatment for dehydrated patches and my skin never looked better. It was too heavy for my regular use in humid Singapore, but worked great when my skin craves for nourishment.
The key ingredients are...
Oryza Sativa Extract : A skin softening & conditioning ingredient that's also a rich source of antioxidants including ferulic acid
Niacinamide : Also known as Vitamin B3, it blocks melanin and helps keep skin tone clear, clean and reduce skin trouble by balancing sebum activity.
Oryza Sativa (Rice) extract, Methylpropanediol, Triethylhexanoin, Hydrogenated poly (C6-14 olefin), Niacinamide, Pentylene glycol, Common Purslane extract, Rice bran extract, Japanese elm bark extract, Amaranthus caudatus seed extract, Hydrogenated lecithin, Distilled water, Polyglyceryl-10-myristate, Butylene glycol, Adenosine, Cellulose gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol
Conclusion
To conclude, I'm From Rice Toner may be a highly popular toner for most but it isn't the perfect fit for my combination with surface dehydration skin type, in humid weather as it made my skin looked shiny.
However, it worked great when my skin craves for nourishment during the Carribean Cruise where I was either in air-conditioned area or under the hot sun. My skin was soft, supple, balanced and well-nourished.
