The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum Review

Product Description
Formulated with 30% pure L-ascorbic Acid, The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum helps your skin appear brighter and targets signs of aging. It also helps to protect against free radicals and pollution. Best used in the AM, the rich texture gives an instant smoothing effect, making it a great base for makeup.

Vitamin C is a powerful, multi-functional antioxidant and skin brightening ingredient. It helps to tackle the appearance of hyperpigmentation, dullness, and fine lines.

A good friend gifted The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer, Vitamin C Serum and Niacinamide Serum as Christmas gifts last year and I was thankful for the chance to be able to try this brand. While I enjoyed using the Peptide Moisturizer, but unfortunately, the Vitamin C serum was too strong for my sensitive skin.

Performance and Ingredients

The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum

The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum stung very badly upon first use and I had to quickly use Iunik Black Snail Restore Cream to calm down my skin. On my second usage, I applied it very sparingly and it still stung, albeit slightly on the cheeks.

On the 3rd use, it stung all over the face but my face has a powdery smooth finishing after absorption. I took a break from the product for a month and revert to using it with sparingly and thankfully, there wasn't much stinging sensation. The following day, there was a subtle sting again when I use the serum and the stinging sensation was gone after applying Kiehls Ultra Cream.

I concluded that this 30% pure stable l-ascorbic acid (vitamin c) was just too strong for my sensitive face and switch up my usage methodology where I added a thin dollop to Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream or Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream or Kiehls Ultra Cream and apply it on the face. Viola! It was just perfect for me and with continued usage, I noticed lightened pigmentation spots.

Unfortunately, this Vitamin C Serum always trigger a big angry zit on the chin and I only found it out after a long while. It was also slightly drying if used daily.

The key ingredient is 30% pure stable l-ascorbic acid (vitamin c). It has a PAO of 6 months.

This hero ingredient offers a host of benefits to both correct and prevent signs of damage to your skin. Adding Vitamin C to your skincare routine can help reduce the impact of daily stressors such as pollution and sun exposure, which can lead to pigmentation and a dull complexion. Vitamin C also works to actively brighten your skin tone and boost collagen production to restore plumpness and elasticity and reduce fine lines.

It has only 4 ingredients in the product.

Dimethicone, Ascorbic Acid, Polysilicone-11, PEG-10 Dimethicone

Conclusion

To conclude, The Inkey List Vitamin C Serum isn't the perfect fit for my sensitive skin type, as it stung badly but less so, if you use it sparingly. It worked far better when added as a thin dollop to a moisturiser such as Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream or Dear Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream or Kiehls Ultra Cream and I noticed lightened pigmentation spots with continued use.

Unfortunately, it brought big angry zit onto the chin and was slightly drying when used daily so this serum won't be a repurchase.
