Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum Review

Product Description
Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum is a vitamin C derivative serum that helps to achieve radiant, healthy-looking skin. Can be used on sensitive skin and absorbs into the skin without leaving any sticky or oily residue.

I didn't have a good experience with the ever-popular Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop so I was glad to have a chance to try out Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum which was gifted to me by @klairs.sg on Instagram.

Launched on 8th May 2023, Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum contains 10% Vitamin C derivative serum that brightens and tightens for radiant, bouncy skin.

Vitamin C is the gold standard of antioxidant and is highly recommended to be included in a daily skincare routine for a solid well-aging care. It is closely associated with L-ascorbic acid which is also known as the pure vitamin C with scientific evidence and benefits for the skin, however it can be unstable (oxidize quickly) and can only be formulated at a specific low pH.

Hence, vitamin C derivatives come and fill in the gap and one of the most commonly found vitamin C derivatives in skincare is the 3-O-Ethyl ascorbic acid, found in Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum.

According to Wishtrend, it has water- and oil-soluble properties and once absorbed into skin, it metabolizes it as pure vitamin C, providing one with pure vitamin c benefits with it.

Benefits :
- Brightening superstar: It brightens, fades hyperpigmentation, evens skin tone
- Well-aging care: reduces wrinkle, visibly firms the skin
- Protection: helps the skin fight free radicals

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum Texture

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum is a 30ml product housed in a slim white opaque bottle with a spritz dispenser. The gel texture is so much less oilier than Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop which I am thankful for.

Clear in colour, the serum has a subtle metallic scent which is hardly discernable unless you brought your nose close to it.

How To Use :
After applying toner, apply an adequate amount to the skin and let it absorb.

Performance and Ingredients

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Serum

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum is said to boost hydration and improves uneven skin for a clear, smooth complexion.

The inclusion of 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C derivative) and Niacinamide help improve overall skin tone and pigmentation (melasma, blemish, freckles) and brighten and boost radiance. It also contains a mix of vitamins (C, E, B3, B5) and madecassoside (Centella Asiatica) to target early signs of aging such as dull, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness, and fine lines.

Klairs has tested the “Triple skin tone (brightness, yellowness, uniformity) Test” and it resulted in a highly beneficial effect for the skin tone.
-9.7% improvement in skin tone uniformity
-12.4% improvement in pigmentation (melasma, blemish, freckle)
-1.2% improvement in skin tone brightness.

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum has a lightweight gel texture that absorbed fast, leaving a subtle layer of tackiness. It paired better with a more emollient moisturiser such as 100% Pure Hydra Drench Cream, rather than Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream for well-hydrated skin.

After 2 weeks of daily use, I noticed the pigmentation spots on my cheeks appeared lighter and overall skin looked healthier. That said, my skin became sensitive ( and stung easily ) if I used it continuously for twice a day for 3 weeks so I have toned down the usage thereafter.

Note that the PAO (period after opening) is 6 months so please use it up within 6 months once opened. I am on the 6th month mark now and glad to see that the serum has not oxidised.

The key ingredients are....

3-O- Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Niacinamide : Fine line improvement, skin tightness improvement, skin smoothness improvement

Aqua (Water), 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Panthenol, Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tromethamine, Adenosine, Madecassoside, Sodium Phytate, Beta-Glucan, Tocopherol, Linolenic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer

Conclusion

To conclude, Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum left my skin looking healthier and pigmentation spots lighter. It has a lightweight gel texture with a layer of subtle tackiness which isn't a major issue for me as I will be using a moisturiser thereafter.

I enjoyed using this much more than its famed counterpart -Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. That said, it does left my finicky skin type alittle sensitive if I used this twice a day for 3 weeks, hence I prefer to tone down the usage to 5x a week.
