I have been enjoying Dr. Althea products of late, thanks to a Stylekorean campaign. You may check out my reviews on Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream and Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum which I emptied this year.
My latest product, Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm has quickly become a favorite of mine for lighter makeup days so lets delve down to the review!
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm comes in this grinder container which I absolutely adore, for its convenient and hygienic application, although its really difficult to ascertain when its ending, which can be a bummer.
It has a sorbet texture with a smooth consistency that is hassle-free and non-greasy on the skin. I did not detect any fragrance.
How to use:
1) Turn the product in a clockwise direction to take an appropriate amount.
2) Massage gently in a rolling motion on the skin to dissolve makeup, then gradually add a bit of water to emulsify.
3) Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water
Performance and Ingredients
The Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm has a cruelty-free and vegan formula that is made without artificial fragrances and colorants and is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
It has this hygienic grinding mechanism which I really like, on a makeup remover as it allows precise portion control and fuss-free application. Also great for travels as it doesn't spill.
Gently massage the balm onto your skin, then add a bit of water to emulsify before rinsing thoroughly. It’s effective and cleanses well, leaving the skin feeling fresh, soft, and smooth most days—though it may struggle with heavier eye makeup.
There is a suggested amount for removing sunscreen, light makeup or heavy makeup but please follow what you think suits your skin best.
On my regular work days with sunscreen and light makeup, Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm worked pretty well to remove all gunk effortlessly and I use the same amount for exercise days where I just had 3 layers of sunscreen.
However, it doesn't work too well on heavier eye makeup as it took much effort to remove my 3 coats of mascara and it can be pretty annoying and frustrating.
Adding on, the size looked larger than its actual amount of contents which is a mere 50ml and I emptied it pretty quickly, so it would be great if they could make it to a 100ml size.
The key ingredients are....

Conclusion
To conclude, Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm is housed in a tub with a grinding mechanism which I absolutely adored for its fuss-free and hygienic application.
