I am elated to be selected as one of the reviewers for Jumiso's latest sunscreens - Jumiso Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen and Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Sunscreen! Both sunscreens are Fragrance, Alcohol and EO free!
Made in Korea, Jumiso stands for "Ju" to give and "Miso" for smile and their mission is to make people smile. Can you see the smiley face on their brand name?
Sunscreen is a daily staple in my skincare routine, especially, since I reside in Singapore where its summer all year round.
Daily use of sunscreen delivers anti-ageing and skin health benefits above and beyond any other skincare product, and the reason for that is simple: the sun’s UVA and UVB rays are the number one cause of wrinkles, sagging, discolourations, as well as many other skin issues.
By protecting yourself from the cascade of free radical damage and inflammation sun exposure triggers, you can save your skin and keep it looking healthy. The key is to be consistent and diligent - use sunscreen loaded with antioxidants for better protection and enhanced anti-ageing benefits.

Jumiso Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ is a mineral sunscreen that can block both UVA/UVB rays. Being a physical sunscreen, it is less irritating to the skin and is a mild sunscreen for all skin types, where it is absorbed softly and moistly.
Reef safe and cruelty-free, Jumiso Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen is made with Centella Asiatica (Cica) and Aloe extract to provide calming, anti-inflammatory and repairing skin effects for sensitive and acne-prone skin. It is essential oil-free, fragrance-free, and suitable for use all day!
Housed in a 50ml slim tube, I adored the slim tube shape and how portable and handy it is, as you bring it along on plane trips, staycation or to the beach.
On the back of the tube, there is a space for you to write the opened date - what a thoughtful gesture! I always made it a point to write the open dates for all my skincare products in order to keep track of their PAO ( period after opening ) dates so this thoughtful gesture is definitely appreciated.
White in colour, the sunscreen has a soft creamy texture with no fragrance and applies with a subtle cooling sensation.
It uses reef safe ingredients ( only physical active ingredients ) and is Oxybenzone-free and Octinoxate-free.
For the uninitiated, sunscreens that contain active ingredients like Oxybenzone and Octinoxate contribute to mass bleaching of coral reefs, leading to some countries banning the use of these sunscreens to protect the oceanic habitat.
Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen has a semi-matte velvety finishing with a subtle dewy sheen yet can be drying, emphasizing dry patches/flakes on skin. The white cast was pretty obvious initially but spend some time massaging/blending it into skin and it will settle down to a minimal one, though I would not recommend it to those with a darker skin tone.
At SPF50 PA++++, this sunscreen helps to protect against UVA and UVB rays where an SPF 50 product protects you from 98% of the UVB “burning” rays that penetrate your skin and PA++++ offers extremely High UVA protection..
The letters “PA” followed by plus signs (PA+, PA++, PA+++, and PA++++) on a label are a rating system developed in Japan to represent how much UVA protection the product offers.
It uses Hypersion technology for a non-sticky finish and block UV rays further.
In terms of ingredients, CosDNA has given the product a good safety rating ( score 1 - 2 ) for most of the ingredients.

Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++ is a hybrid sunscreen, both inorganic and organic filters, with a powerful SPF50+ PA++++ to shield your skin against both UVA/UVB rays. Helps even skin tone while leaving the skin moisturized and soft. The water-based, lightweight formula is formulated for all skin types. Reef-safe - free from oxybenzone and octinoxate.
Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Acid Sunscreen comes in a 50ml slim plastic tube that dispenses the lightweight water-based texture effortlessly. It has a small area on the back of the tube for one to write the opened date of the product which was a sweet gesture that I appreciate, since I always do that anyway.
It has no fragrance, spreads out easily and absorbed well with a cooling sensation. Uni-fine technology was used to ensure smooth and even application, protecting the skin from UV rays while keeping a light texture.
A reef-safe sunscreen that is Oxybenzone free and Octinoxate free, the initial finish has a slight white cast that settled down to a minimal one after some massage and blending in. The white cast was manageable and much better than the Super Soothing Cica & Aloe Sunscreen.
I did experience flakiness on sides of nose which was easily rectified with a quick 5 minute mask and the addition of By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule prior to sunscreen application and those flakiness were gone.
The subtle dewy sheen gave rise to a beautiful glow under makeup which is almost comparable to my favourite Cosrx Aloe Sunscreen, except for the slight white cast.
However, without makeup, the dewy sheen gets oilier throughout the day till it looks greasy on my combination-dehydrated skin type.
At SPF50 PA++++, this sunscreen protects skin from harmful UV rays including UVB, UVA, indoor lighting and provide very high UV protection even under intense sun.

Titanium Dioxide : Physical UV blocking ingredient
Ethylhexyl Triazone : A new generation, chemical sunscreen that gives the highest photo-stable absorption of all available UVB filters today. Also known as Octyl Triazone.
Polysilicone-15 : A chemical sunscreen agent with UVB protection. It also help to stabilize the famously unstable UVA filter, avobenzone and works especially well with Ensulizole to achieve high SPF protection.
Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate : A new generation, chemical sunscreen agent with high UVA protection and high photostability. Also known as Uvinul A Plus.
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine : A broad-spectrum ( full UVA and UVB protection ) chemical sunscreen agent which is also known as Tinosorb S. Hardly deteriorates in the presence of UV light and is useful in stabilizing other less stable sunscreen agents, like the UVA protector, avobenzone.

Hyaluronic Acid : Also known as "Moisture tank" as it draws in moisture 1,000 times of its weight. It helps maintain the necessary moisture for skin by preventing evaporation of moisture.
