This is my first product from Anua, a Kbeauty brand which strives to make the most effective products with natural and active ingredients. Its mission is to eliminate skin concerns with gentle yet effective formulations. You can read more about the brand on their website.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum is a 30ml product, housed in a glass bottle with a dropper. The serum is beautiful in pink which comes from Niacinamide (Vitamin B). It does not have a fragrance and the texture has a slight oily-feel.
How To Use :
1) Apply a few drops to affected areas and gently pat in with your fingertips.
2) Gradually increase the usage as needed.
3) Use morning and night before applying oils or moisturizers. When used during the day, be sure to use with SPF 30 or higher.
Performance and Ingredients
Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum has been receiving rave reviews on social media, because of its beautiful colour, its promising ingredients and the effectiveness.
Lets delve down to see if this serum is A Hit or Miss for Combination Skin in Humid Weather?
The first thing I noticed about this serum was its texture – undeniably rich, with an oil-heavy formulation. Upon application, my T-zone began to oil up within an hour, leaving my skin looking shiny. If I used two drops, my face appeared greasy and felt slightly tacky, a combination that didn’t bode well in the sticky humidity.
Trying to make it work, I scaled down to just one drop. While this reduced the greasy appearance, the tackiness lingered, making my skin feel less than comfortable. Pairing it with my Biotherm Aquasource Gel didn’t help matters either; the combination left my face looking shiny and unrefined.
I discovered a small hack: warming a single drop between my palms and pressing it deeply into the skin. This method made the serum less greasy on application, and I did notice a subtle glow the following morning. However, despite this workaround, I couldn’t shake off the residual tackiness and shiny finish so I still prefer to use this on the decollete.
The key ingredients are....

Hyaluronic Acid + Polyglutamic Acid : Hydrates and soothes the skin

Conclusion
To conclude, while Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum might work better for drier skin types or in cooler climates, it didn’t perform well for my combination skin in a humid environment. If you have a similar skin type and climate, you might want to tread cautiously or try the press-and-pat method for better results.
For now, my search for the perfect serum continues! Have you tried Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments.
