L/Chemy Cleansing Milk Review

L/Chemy Ritual No. 1 is a gentle, non-drying cleansing milk which can be used as a cleanser on its own and also removes make-up (foundation) and sunscreen effectively without leaving a sticky residue. The soft, creamy 300ml lotion is comfortable to apply and massage onto skin.

It contains Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, a popular ingredient in many Japanese and Korean skincare formulations. Balance uneven skin tone, refine overall skin texture, reduce appearance of pore size and reveal your skin’s natural glow. Also a morning cleanser perfect for removing oil and grime without interfering with the skin’s natural microbiome.

How To Use :
Apply onto pre-moistened face, massage gently in circular motions, wipe with cotton or wash off with water. Not suitable for removing eye and lip make up. Follow with cleanser.

L/Chemy Ritual No. 1 Comfort Cleanser Review

Being a fan of cleansing milks, Ritual No. 1 was a lovely second cleanse for me, as a cleanser because the texture is lightweight creamy, gentle and nourishing, perfect for my finicky skin. At 300ml size, the pump dispenser is easy to use, as it dispenses just the right quantity of the white creamy milk for cleansing. It has a subtle naturally occurring scent.

L/Chemy Ritual No. 1 Comfort Cleanser Texture

Since it claimed to be able to remove sunscreens, I tried it twice on face sunscreens - managed to remove Solyph Face the Wild Sunscreen, but unfortunately, not on physical sunscreen such as Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen as it just doesn't budge, despite using the cleansing milk twice.

Not a major issue for me, since I use Ritual No. 1 primarily as a second cleanse on most days, and not as a makeup remover. My skin is always soft, clean and nourished.

The active ingredients are.....

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate : A nutrient-dense byproduct of the fermentation process, this star ingredient works at a cellular level to increase your skin’s absorption ability. Swiss Flower Complex : A unique composition of seven Alpine plant extracts organically cultivated at high altitude, these extracts improve skin tone, reduce age spots and increase skin luminosity.

Rice Bran Oil : contains a substantial amount of Vitamin E, Vitamin B, Omega-9 and a rich array of fatty acids and anti-oxidants. It promotes hydration, evens out skin tone and also helps to reduce pigmentation.

L/Chemy Amino Acid Cleanser Review

Due to my finicky skin type, I don't use other types of cleansers except for cleansing milks but I was still willing to give L/Chemy On Cloud Nine a try.

L/Chemy Amino Acid Daily Cleanser Texture

This Amino Acid Daily Cleanser has a clear gel texture that foams up slightly which tends to imply that it might be drying for my skin type.

Adding on, the pump dispenser doesn't work very well, the floral scent was strong, there was a subtle taut sensation on the face after cleansing and my palms were drying. Ufortunately, in short, Cloud Nine wasn't the perfect fit for my skin type.

The active ingredients are....

Swiss Flower Complex : A unique composition of seven Alpine plant extracts organically cultivated at high altitude, these extracts improve skin tone, reduce age spots and increase skin luminosity.

Amino-Acid Surfactants : Unlike commonly used surfactants such as sulphates, amino-acid surfactants are derived from amino-acids which have natural moisturising factors. It has the ability to hydrate and heal and increase structural support of the skin.

Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters : Derived from Olive Oil, this ingredient is a functional lipid that provides strong emollience and lubricant properties offering long-term moisturising effects and remarkable smoothness.

Where To Purchase : L/Chemy

L/Chemy Serenity Review

L/Chemy Serenity is a soothing cica B12 toner which is a naturally-pink Vitamin B12 toning lotion that provides daily soothing relief for dry, sensitive and reactive skin. Its calming pink hue is derived from Vitamin B12 with no artificial colorants added. The unique combination of actives accelerate skin repair, soothes redness and inflammation and improves skin elasticity and texture while maintaining optimal skin hydration.

How To Use :
Apply using cotton pad or directly onto cleansed face and neck, day and night. Pat dry and follow with serum.

L/Chemy Serenity comes in a 300ml bottle with a spritz dispenser that tends to spurt out the light pink runny contents out of my palms, making a mess from where I am. When I spritz it on cotton pads, I just have to be careful not to move the cotton pad too much, as the runny toner contents may just glide down from the pad to the floor.

That aside, I enjoyed using the toner for its soothing relief for my random redness on the right eyebrow and hydrating properties when my skin needed it ( combat the flakiness on skin after coming back from cruise ). It has a subtle floral scent.

The active ingredients are....

Salicyloyl Phytosphingosine : A novel ingredient that is created by combining Salicylic Acid and Ceramides. This unique combination delivers synergistic anti-inflammatory, anti-acne and lipid-repair benefits. The anti-wrinkle activity and skin-smoothening effect on the skin help to improve skin texture in photo-aged skin. It also has anti-aging benefits with increased ECM proteins revealing smoother, firmer and more rejuvenated skin overall.

Madecassic Acid : The Super Cica is a highly titrated powder extract of Centella Asiatica (Centella Asiatica Extract, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid and Asiaticoside) in nano-lipid encapsulation. Due to the poor solubility of Super Cica, the concentrated powder is first converted into nano-sized particles and then encapsulated in a phospholipids matrix which creates better adhesion to the skin and enhances the penetration of actives into the deeper layers of the skin. Super Cica provides superior soothing efficacy, accelerates skin repair and reconstructs skin by increasing cell turnover and inhibiting inflammatory cytokines. It also offers UV cell protection and antioxidant properties which prevent skin pigmentation and aging.

Cyanocobalamin : Vitamin B12 has the ability to reduce inflammation and relieve itchy, irritated, red and cracked skin. It is effective as a nitric oxide scavenger where nitric oxide in excessive amounts is known to cause itching and redness in eczema. Vitamin B12 helps to increase cellular regeneration and encourage wound healing. It can also improve photo-damaged skin in need of hydration by increasing the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. It diminishes the appearance of dark spots and improves uneven skin tone.

Calendula : Derived from Marigold Flowers, Calendula extract provides anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, skin soothing and wound healing effects.

Where To Purchase : L/Chemy

L/Chemy Breathe Review

L/Chemy Breathe is a high performance exfoliant and clarifying serum where the unique blend of AHA and BHA acids provide a comprehensive exfoliating effect on the skin while retaining moisture. This serum cleans pores and clears build up from excess sebum and pollutants and even has hydrating actives incorporated to cater to those with drier skin. Mandelic Acid, the main acid used is the mildest form of AHA which makes it suitable even for those with sensitive skin. Pores are more refined and skin is brighter, revealing a healthy glow.

How To Use :
1) Apply onto cleansed and freshly-toned skin at night.
2) Follow with moisturiser.
3) Use on entire face once a week and spot treatment when required.

Tip : Perfect on days when your skin starts to feel congested and overwhelmed.

L/Chemy Exfoliant and Clarifying Serum Review

I fell in love with L/Chemy Breathe upon first use. As a 30ml serum, I use this on a weekly basis or when my skin feels congested. Clear in colour, runny in texture with a subtle oily consistency and a subtle natural-occurring scent, I tend to use this exfoliant sparingly when I poured it in my palms but more generous when I use it with cotton pads and noted that my skin stung when it was alittle too much.

L/Chemy Breathe Texture

My skin is left feeling so soft, silky smooth and supple for the next 2-3 days. This product is a winner in my heart so long I remember to use this exfoliant sparingly.

The active ingredients are....

QUADRUPLE ACID COMPLEX : Due to its large molecular size, Mandelic Acid gently exfoliates dead skin cells, accelerates cell turnover and regulates sebum production. Glycolic Acid exfoliates away the tough, dull, dead layer of skin and penetrate through that layer to rejuvenate and regenerate cells. Lactic Acid is used in combination with Glycolic to reduce irritability to the skin. Salicylic treats acne by dissolving keratin plugs that clog pores, allowing improved penetration of other ingredients into the skin.

MULTI-MOLECULAR HYALURONIC ACIDS : Comprising 7 hyaluronic acid molecular sizes, this HA complex penetrates deeper and provides significant hydration to the different layers of the skin, preventing trans-epidermal water loss for holistic hydration while encouraging collagen synthesis

SACCHARIDE ISOMERATE : Derived from vegetable maize kernels, this natural carbohydrate complex binds to keratin to boost NMF, hyaluron and ceramides to strengthen and protect the skin barrier. It also reverses 5 major symptoms of dehydrated skin: roughness, dullness, flakiness, tightness, redness. Increases skin microflora as it acts as a prebiotic which is a natural food source for probiotics. Significantly boosts hydration in dry skin within 3 hours and up to 72 hours long-lasting deep hydration after a single application.
