[ Review ] Sabon Delicate Jasmine Body Scrub

 

Product Description

Boasting a unique blend of mineral-rich Dead Sea salts and 3 organic botanical oils (Sweet Almond, Argan, and Jojoba), Sabon exfoliating scrubs are expertly crafted to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote natural skin renewal with the proven power of gentle exfoliation and intense nourishment from the first use.

Our skin naturally sheds dead cells every day, but as we age or when skin turnover slows, buildup can leave the surface feeling rough, dull, and uneven. That’s where body scrubs come in. Designed as a form of physical exfoliation, body scrubs typically use particles such as sugar, salt, coffee grounds, or microcrystalline powders to buff away dead skin cells. 

Many modern formulations go beyond simple exfoliation, combining nourishing oils, humectants like glycerin, and soothing botanicals to leave the skin soft, hydrated, and radiant. Regular use not only helps to smooth skin texture but can also improve the absorption of subsequent body care products, such as lotions or serums.

After emptying Sabon Green Rose Body Scrub, it was time to try out the Delicate Jasmine variant, which I purchased during a sale. 

I didn't like the Delicate Jasmine hand cream when I tried it back in 2019 but was pleasantly surprised that the scent was subtle in the body scrub. 

Top notes: Bergamot | Middle notes: Ylang-ylang, Jasmine, Rose, Lily of the Valley | Base notes: Vanilla, Musk

Housed in a similar charming glass jar with a metal cap and rustic green paper detailing like Sabon Green Rose Body Scrub, the mixture of salt and oils makes it a lovely soft scrub with a hint of abrasion ( may not be ideal for sensitive skin types ) that left my body soft and smooth. 

The key ingredients are....

Magnesium : Soothing and healing, improves skin barrier function, boosts hydration levels, and enhances skin metabolism.

Potassium : Natural moisturizer with antibacterial powers.

Organic Sweet Almond Oil : Rice in Vitamin A and essential fatty acids. Soften and smooth effect on the skin.

Organic Argan Oil : Rich in Vitamin E and essential Fatty Acids. Nourishes, fortifies and repairs the skin

Organic Jojoba Oil : Promotes skin-soothing. Boost skin hydration.

I purchased a 60g of the Sabon Green Rose Body Scrub during a sale for a very good price as my previous experience with Sabon Patchouli Lavender Vanilla Body Scrub has been great. 

Housed in a charming glass jar with a metal cap and rustic brown paper detailing, the Sabon Green Rose Body Scrub makes a lovely first impression. The scent is uplifting yet calming which is ideal for winding down after a long, hectic day and carving out a little me-time.

Free from parabens and mineral oils, this scrub is more than just pretty packaging. It effectively smoothens and softens the skin, leaving it silky, supple, and refreshed.

The Dead Sea salt granules offer a satisfying exfoliation that buffs away dead skin cells, though the texture may feel a bit too abrasive for sensitive skin types. Personally, I found the grains fine enough not to be an issue, but it’s something to keep in mind if your skin leans delicate.

All in all, it's a sensory, spa-like treat that delivers both results and relaxation.

I purchased Natio Desert Lime + Salt Coffee Scrub from BHG (Junction 8) Closing Down Sale recently. Natio products like Rosewater Drench Mineral Face Mist and Ageless Hydrating Mask didn't work particularly well for me previously but I still couldn't resist the chance to when my eyes laid upon a coffee body scrub. 

How To Use : 

Gently massage onto clean, damp skin. Rinse clean with warm water.

The salt coffee body scrub, packaged in a generous 300g sturdy jar makes scooping out the product convenient. 

However, my first impression left me slightly disappointed—the scrub felt very dry right from the top, and I assumed the texture would improve as I dug deeper. Unfortunately, the dryness was consistent throughout the jar, which made application less enjoyable.

Despite the dry texture, I went ahead and used it on my body twice a week after exercise, like a post-workout exfoliation. The scrub was definitely abrasive, but that also meant it effectively sloughed off dead skin, leaving my body feeling noticeably softer and smoother after rinsing.

As for the scent, while it’s marketed as a coffee scrub, the fragrance was extremely subtle—you’d have to bring your nose close to the jar to detect it, which may be a letdown for those who enjoy aromatic body care products.

If you're looking for a gritty, no-frills exfoliator, this might work for you—especially if you like a bit of intensity in your scrubs. But if you prefer a more hydrating, sensorial experience, this one might fall short.

Conclusion

To conclude, while  Natio Desert Lime + Salt Coffee Scrub delivers on its promise of smoother skin through effective exfoliation, the overly dry texture and barely-there fragrance may not appeal to everyone—especially those who prefer a more luxurious or hydrating scrub experience. It’s a decent option if you’re after a budget-friendly, hard-working exfoliator, but I’d recommend using it gently and following up with a nourishing body lotion to replenish moisture. If scent and texture matter to your routine, you may want to explore other options.

To conclude, Palmer Cocoa Body Scrub is a creamy and gentle cocoa body scrub which is never abrasive on the body yet left my skin slightly smoother and softer. It is perfect for those with sensitive skin but may not be the one for those who prefer a more abrasive type of body scrub.

1) Apply a layer of the scrub to damp skin in a circular scrubbing motion. 

2) If desired, use a body brush to increase the scrubbing effects and to increase stimulation

3) Rinse off completely, then apply moisturizer. Can be used on face and body.

Despite the name "coconut milk", don't expect dead sea salt being soaked in coconut milk, they are moist dead sea salt ( with coconut milk ) to provide just enough exfoliation without being too dry and coarse for the skin. They might be too harsh for my face, so I am just using it for the body.

The body scrub made my body felt soft, clean and smooth and there's isn't an additional layer of film on skin unlike some other body scrubs.

Made in USA, EO products use safe, natural, organic and sustainably-farmed ingredients 

After using up 2 tubs of Fizzy Fern Espresso Body Scrub, it is time to look out for another body scrub, and EO French Lavender Body Polish caught my attention. Unfortunately, it is no longer available on Iherb. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

EO French Lavender Body Polish is a 177ml tube product. It has a lovely and soothing french lavender scent which I adore and the creamy exfoliator is never abrasive on skin.

How To Use : 

1) Gently massage onto body in the shower

2) Leave on for 1-2 minutes as you inhale the aroma of pure essential oils. 

3) Rinse thoroughly. 

Tip : Use 3x per week for optimal results. 

Performance and Ingredients

This luxurious cream exfoliator gently polishes away dull, dry skin with skin-refining blueberry seed powder and exfoliating pineapple enzymes. Coconut oil and mango seed butter lock in moisture, revealing velvety smooth, nourished skin that is soft to the touch and radiant. 

I enjoyed using EO French Lavender Body Polish with its soothing lavender scent and non-abrasive creamy contents that left my body soft and smooth, however strangely, when contents are nearing to the end, I noticed ants milling around the cap. The product was placed in my bathroom then.

[ Review ] Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub

 

Product Description

Made using Australia pink clay and organic oils, Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub is highly moisturising and helps to remove dead skin cells while replenishing nutrients to the new cells below. 

I have previously tried out Acai and Maqui Berry Body Scrub and subsequently purchased this and Organic Matcha Body Scrub using my own jars. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub looks so lovely in pink and would make a great gift for your friends. And if you are rose scented fan, then Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub might make you fall in love. 

Unfortunately, this salt and sugar scrub's texture was slightly coarse and may not be the best fit for those with delicate skin. 

How To Use :

On wet skin, use a small handful and rub all over body then rinse off. 

Tip : for extra moisture, leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off. 

Performance and Ingredients

Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub looks alluring in pink and provides a good exfoliating action with its salt and sugar contents, leaving skin soft and smooth. However, it came across as abrasive so it might not sit well for those with sensitive skin. 

Despite the number of oils in the scrub, it was not as moisturising or wet as I expected it to be, but only slightly moist. 

Conclusion

To conclude, Scoop Wholefoods Rose Body Scrub smells great, looks lovely, provides smooth and soft skin but can be abrasive for the skin.

[ Review ] Scoop Wholefoods Organic Matcha Body Scrub

Scoop Wholefoods Organic Matcha Body Scrub is an invigorating body scrub with matcha to awaken your cells. Matcha contains antioxidants  that helps detox the effects of UV radiation and free radicals. It reduces inflammation and keeps skin looking youthful as it slows down the ageing process. 

I brought an empty tub to Scoop Wholefoods so that I could try a new body scrub, and decided to get Organic Matcha Body Scrub after using Acai and Maqui Berry Body Scrub 2 years ago. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

The matcha scent was subtle while the mixture of salt and sugar in the scrub comes across as fine texture, yet was abrasive for my skin. 

How To Use :

On wet skin, use a small handful and rub in circular motions all over your body then rinse off. 

Performance and Ingredients

Scoop Wholefoods Organic Matcha Body Scrub provides a good body exfoliation leaving my skin soft and smooth but was abrasive. So while I am happy with its 9 simple ingredients, I do hope the zero-waste store can bring in less abrasive body scrubs so that all skin types can enjoy a good exfoliation.

In terms of ingredients, organic Matcha Green Tea Powder is packed with powerful antioxidants that help trap and neutralize free-radicals to counteract oxidative stress and works well with sea salt as they both help clear the pores of sebum. 

Conclusion

To conclude, Scoop Wholefoods Organic Matcha Body Scrub can be a nice simple body scrub for those who likes deep hard exfoliation, but it came across as abrasive for me and is definitely not recommended for those with sensitive or broken skin.

I love shopping for new body scrubs and chanced upon Nubian Raw Shea Butter Hand & Body Scrub on Iherb. My favourite body scrub would still be Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Nubian Raw Shea Butter Hand & Body Scrub comes in a 340g tub of yellow scrub goodness. It smells sweet and is lovely. The sugar granules are large enough to provide a good exfoliation for the body.

How To Use :

1) Mix contents well. 

2) Apply a small amount to palm, massaging gently into skin using a circular motion, concentrating on rough, dry areas. 

3) As a hand treatment, rub palms together to create gentle warmth, massage gently into top of hands and cuticles. 

4) Rinse skin thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

Performance and Ingredients

Nubian Heritage Shea Butter Hand and Body Scrub is a fragrant ultra-moisturizing sugar scrub with nourishing Frankincense and Myrrh and organic Shea Butter to hydrate and exfoliate to reveal healthier looking, smoother skin. 

Shea Butter is rich in essential fatty acids, which moisturize and soften skin. Frankincense, known for its toning and anti-aging properties, also has aromatherapy benefits. Hydrates and exfoliates to reveal healthier looking, smoother skin. Gives skin a more youthful appearance fragrant, ultra-moisturizing sugar scrub.

The sugar granules are large but can be slightly abrasive which I don't fancy, however it left my skin super smooth and soft with a layer of moisturising veil. 

I prefer using Nubian Raw Shea Butter Hand & Body Scrub after a good workout to slough off all the dead skin cells for softer smoother skin. That said, do take note if your skin is sensitive.

To conclude, Nubian Raw Shea Butter Hand & Body Scrub has a lovely scent and made skin soft, smooth and moisturised, however the sugar granules can be slightly abrasive so take note if you have sensitive skin.

I chanced upon M3 Naturals Himalayan Scrub on Iherb which looked so pretty in pink with plenty of positive reviews.

[ Review ] Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus )

 

Product Description

Wonderfully fragrant and leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh! Includes eucalyptus essential oil, soy bean oil and crunchy, natural sea salt for effective exfoliation of dead skin.

I purchased Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) together with Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub on Singsale last year. 

To me, body exfoliation is much needed in a shower routine for smoother skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, brighten skin and make it look firmer. Are you incorporating body scrubs into your routine too? 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Made in Melbourne, Australia, Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) is housed in a 500g tub with a subtle musty scent that hardly smells like Eucalyptus. 

Being a salt-based scrub, the granules can be slightly abrasive for some. 

Directions for Use : 

1) Lightly dampen your skin prior to applying the scrub.

2) Massage firmly all over body paying particular attention to elbows, knees and feet. 

Tip : This can be quite messy so best done in the shower.

Performance and Ingredients

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this sea salt body scrub at all. The oils are concentrated more at the bottom and the top is drier than the bottom, leading to the initial exfoliation being "rough" and abrasive. A stir is much recommended for such scrubs to infuse both wet and dry contents. 

Once you reached the bottom of the tub, the sea salt scrub would be slightly wetter and much sticky, leading to my body being sticky as well. Definitely not an experience I enjoyed.

And when the sticky granules rolled onto the bathroom floor and you happened to step on them, like I did, my soles would become extremely sticky like adhesive. 

Overall, while the exfoliation left my skin soft and smooth but the latter part of the scrub left me with  sticky skin as well. 

INGREDIENTS: SEA SALT, SODIUM CHLORIDE, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS (EUCALYPTUS) OIL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, CITRAL.

Conclusion

To conclude, Empire Australia Soothing Sea Salt Body Scrub ( Eucalyptus ) gave rise to smoother skin but its either abrasive or sticky, depending on which part of the tub you are using. Not something I would repurchase.

[ Review ] Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub

Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub has incredible skin softening properties, smells amazing and leaves skin smoother and cleaner than before. Organic sea salt does most of the hard work to remove rough, dead skin while essential oils of coconut and orange not only smell divine but do lovely nourishing things for the skin too. 

I chanced upon Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub while shopping online in Singsale and promptly purchased it. Prior to my purchase, I have never heard of the brand. 

Empire Australia started eight years ago, by 2 people with a long history in the Australian cosmetic, bath and body industry. Their products are formulated in a Melbourne laboratory and sold at realistic prices where everyone can enjoy the everyday luxury that Empire Australia represents.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub comes in a resealable package of 500g contents. There was a subtle scent of a mixture of coconut and orange essential oils which smells lovely. The nitty-gritty salt granules are not really for the delicate skin, if I may say so. 

How To Use :

1) Wet skin and massage all over the body in a circular motion.

2) Relax for 5-10 minutes while it dries then rinse off completely.

note : skin might appear red at first but thats normal. 

Performance and Ingredients

Empire Australia Organic Sea Salt & Coconut Oil Body Scrub is recommended to be used 1 to 3 times a week where you just need a few handfuls of the salt scrub from the package. 

As with such packaging, the essential oils or any runny contents would be soaked at the bottom while the salt granules would be quite dry at the top. You basically have to dig deep into the pile, just to get a mixture of the dry and wet contents, before scooping them up for body use.

Unfortunately, I do feel that most of the contents are dry and hence, abrasive for the sensitive skin. Probably only 15% of the contents are slightly wetter and found at the bottom. After massaging them and rinsing off, my skin is definitely softer and smoother since salt is a natural exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin and has minerals to soften skin and restore hydration.

I first started using their cleansing milk when I was still a student which unfortunately, is no longer available. Back then, the line was basic but fast forward to today, Freeman has a wide range of products. 

Being a fan of coffee body scrubs, it was a no-brainer to choose this, when I was looking for some body scrubs for use. 

[ Review ] : Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub

I purchased Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub from Iherb recently but the product has since been discontinued. I am not sad about it since I didn't really like it but what don't work for me, may just work well for you. 

Love Beauty & Planet is one of the many brands under Unilever with the belief that the brand can make a little difference towards a happier, less wasteful planet with every shower, using ethically and sustainably sourced extracts. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub is housed in a 260g tub with pink floral illustrations. It has a feminine vibe and would make a perfect Christmas gift for your girlfriend. 

It has a distinct floral rose scent with a white lightweight creamy texture that contains tiny sugar beads. The formula is infused with ethically sourced rose absolute from Bulgaria and exudes a rich, warm, floral rose experience.

The natural vibrancy of rose is enhanced by the juicy freshness of red berries, delivering an intensely feminine and refreshing ambiance in your shower. 

 Unfortunately, I found the scent to be alittle too sweet and cloying for me. 

How To Use :

1) Scoop Love Beauty and Planet® Peace and Glow Body Scrub out of the jar.

2) Massage onto your skin with light pressure, rinse off. 

note : If you are new to exfoliation, first test on one part of your body. If you have sensitive skin, first talk to your dermatologist. 

Tip : Start off using once per week and then gradually increase to 3-4 times per week. 

Performance and Ingredients

Described as a delightful creamy body scrub that tickles your senses and delivers smooth, touchable skin every time while removing dullness from the skin, Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub comes across as a gentle creamy body scrub for smoother skin.

Formulated with sugar and rose absolute, the creamy body scrub glides well on the body but was drying since Day 1. It has that squeaky kind of dryness which I absolutely hate, making me disappointed with the formulation. 

The body scrub has tiny granules which are not abrasive ( and not gentle too ) but left my skin slightly smoother although not spectacularly so. It is not greasy and doesn't leave any moisturizing film behind. However, it is really drying and a body lotion is definitely recommended after every exfoliating session.

Not a product I would recommend for those with dry and sensitive skin.

To conclude, Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub has a cloying sweet rose scent with a squeaky kind of dryness which I detest. The tiny granules are neither harsh nor gentle. I wouldn't recommended it to those with sensitive or dry skin though. 

My all-time favourite body scrubs are Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub and Origins Smoothing Ginger Body Scrub.

White and soaked with coconut milk and sea salt, the contents are not as creamy as I expected - initially, I thought it would be a creamy milky salt scrub but in reality, it looked like the usual sea salt scrub. 

How To Use :

1) Massage onto wet skin using your hands or damp washcloth. 

2) Smooth away dead skin cells using gentle, circular motions. 

3) Rinse off with warm water. 

4) Repeat as necessary for best results.

Performance and Ingredients

Pure Body Naturals Coconut Milk Body Scrub is said to be the ultimate in hydrating exfoliation. Dead Sea Salts work as a natural exfoliator, while soothing properties of Coconut Milk provide high amounts of healthy fats and Vitamin E to give your skin a healthy glow. Natural oils like Almond and Safflower are added to boost nourishment and improve the texture of your skin. 

I love body scrubs and use them 1-2 times per week. One can always massage the scrub into skin by using hands, textured sponge, washcloth, or loofah, let it sit for 2-3 minutes to allow the ingredients to activate and absorb into the skin before rinsing the residue off. Pure Body Naturals Coconut Milk Body Scrub contains sea salt and is pretty fine, hence it is not coarse and is non-abrasive. Because of its fine contents, it is easy to massage and scrub on the body, without too much wastage.

It makes my skin soft, smooth and clean without leaving any oily film behind. The ingredients are simple and natural - no nasty ingredients which you can't pronounce.
