The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum Review

Product Description
The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum is a lightweight, power-packed serum containing 10% Niacinamide to effectively reduce excess oil, blemishes and redness.

The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum together with Peptide Moisturizer and Vitamin C Serum were Christmas gifts from a good friend.

The ingredient, Niacinamide is popular for several reasons:
- Improves Skin Texture: Helps to smooth out rough skin and improve overall texture.
- Reduces Redness and Inflammation: Calms irritated skin and reduces redness, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
- Minimizes Pores: Tightens pores and reduces their appearance over time.
- Regulates Oil Production: Balances oil production, making it beneficial for oily and combination skin types.
- Brightens Skin: Reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation, leading to a more even skin tone.

It is a versatile ingredient that can benefit a variety of skin types and concerns, howevver, Niacinamide is an ingredient which may be a hit or miss for me, depending on the formulation.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum Texture

The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum is a 30ml product, housed in a white bottle with a black flick top cap. The serum is almost clear in colour and has a lightweight texture with a subtle oily base and a tackiness that never goes away. I didn't fancy the odd scent though.

It also has a tendency to crystallize and forms a crust on the hole at the flick top cap which can be annoying, although not a major issue.

How To Use :
Use both AM and PM. After cleansing and hydrating with Hyaluronic Acid, gently pat a pea-sized amount into face and neck. If using alongside other serums, layer in any order.

Performance and Ingredients

The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum

The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum contains a naturally occurring Vitamin B3, Niacinamide, which is a great choice for blemish-prone skin as it helps to reduce excess oil and redness. Formulated with 1% Hyaluronic Acid, it also helps to soothe and hydrate the skin whilst improve the look of blemish-prone skin.

Before incorporating The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum into my routine, my T-zone was excessively oily, and my overall skin tone appeared greasy and dull, with occasional zits on my chin. Initially, even after I started using the serum, my skin condition remained unchanged for a considerable period, leaving me uncertain about continuing its use due to the lack of visible results.

However, I've found that consistency is crucial with this serum, and it takes time to see noticeable improvements. I began by applying it once daily for a month before transitioning to using it both morning and night.

After using it once a day for a month, I observed a subtle reduction in sebum production and breakouts whilst balancing the oil production. My skin felt smoother and looked clearer and fresher. Given that it can be slightly drying, I prefer to pair it with a hydrating moisturizer.

With extended use, applying the serum twice daily, I noticed that the dark spots on my cheeks began to lighten and my overall skin tone was more even after just two weeks so I was happy.

Both Dr. Althea Resveratrol 345NA Repair Cream and Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream pair well with this serum to provide the required hydration to my combination skin with surface dehydration. Biotherm Aquasource Gel isn't a good fit as it wasn't as hydrating as what my skin needs.

The key ingredients are....

10% Niacinamide : Helps to control excess oil, target blemishes and tackle redness
1% Hyaluronic Acid solution : Helps to hydrate and plump skin

Conclusion

To conclude, The Inkey List Niacinamide Serum provides a gradual improvement with consistency.

With regular usage, I noticed a subtle reduction of sebum and breakouts. My skin felt smooth, and looked clear and fresh. With longer term usage, the dark spots on my cheeks appeared to be lightened slightly.

I am pretty happy with the results produced by this serum for now.
