Nowadays, I am so into Vitamin C in skincare that anything that screams "Vitamin C" will make me take a second look! Its just an effective marketing gimmick that draws me in. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

Beauty Buffet Scentio Milk Plus Q10 Vitamin C Mask Sheet comes in a box of 10 individually packed sheets. The fragrance made me think of fragranced soap which smells nice but unnecessary since there's no added benefits to skin. The material is thin and sheer with a smooth touch. 

How To Use :

1) Clean and pat dry your face

2) Remove the white plastic sheet 

3) Spread the mask evenly over the face.

4) Remove the blue fabric sheet.

5) Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes

6) Take off the mask and slightly massage with fingers to let it absorb.

Tip : Use 2 - 3 times per week for best result.

Being a mask lover, I was excited to try out Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask and Axis-y Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask. Both of them are great for use on irritated skin days - choose between sheet mask or rinse-off mask!

Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask is formulated to brighten and soothe your skin as it is packed full of powerful ingredients to moisturize and reinforce the skin’s natural barrier function. Heartleaf repairs and soothes dull and irritated skin while 2% Niacinamide noticeably brightens and evens skin tone.

How To Use :

1) After cleansing the face, apply an even layer onto dry skin while avoiding the immediate eye area and the mouth
2) Gently rinse off with lukewarm water after leaving on for 10 - 15 minutes. 

Tips : Use 2 - 3 times per week. Leave on for 10-15 minutes for best results. 

Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask is a runny green gel mask filled with tiny heartleaf leaves in its contents. A tiny spatula is included but due to the runny and soft texture contents, the tiny spatula is not the easiest to use for scooping up the gel mask, as you need to scoop up several times ( for the whole face ) while trying not to drop the spatula back into the jar.

After hearing much raves about Axis-y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen on Instagram, I was elated to receive it from Axis-y as part of a paid partnership. Being in a humid country like Singapore with summer weather all year round, non-greasy and effective sunscreens are very important to me.

I redeemed a 5ml sample size of Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment with my Sephora points last year. After hearing so much raves about their products, I was looking forward to trying this even though some of the glowing reviews may be fake ( read more below ). This came in just in time, as I just depleted IDS Facial Scrub recently. 

Made in USA, Sunday Riley combines active scientific ingredients with efficacious plant-based botanicals where each carefully researched product is said to deliver immediate results and long-term payoff thanks to its high-tech formulations.

Back in 2019, Sunday Riley was accused of posting fake reviews of their products on Sephora's website for two years after a Reddit user leaked an email that showed employees being asked by the company to create fake Sephora accounts and post "glowing" reviews of products.

Definitely not very ethical but at the same time, it also made me more intrigued to try out their products.

All of Axis-y's products are 100% made in Korea and are free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colors and fragrances as well as being alcohol-free, vegan and cruelty-free. 

In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts on their hydrating skincare range. 

Stress, hormones, diets, and climates can cause our skin to be dehydrated, which leads to sensitivity and other problems. For this reason, Axis-y set out to create new products that can hydrate and moisturize our skin according to our unique needs.

Hydrating skincare is the core of my skincare routine due to my skin type - combination skin with surface dehydration. Skin that is not hydrated enough will become dry, tight and flaky where lines, uneven skin, wrinkles, dark spots and texture are prone to look deeper and more pronounced.

Our skin is made up of three layers : the outer layer (epidermis), the underlying skin (dermis), and the subcutaneous tissue. When the outermost layer of your skin does not contain enough moisture, the skin will lose its elasticity and feel rough. 

Dehydrated skin appears weak, dull, and uneven and, when combined with signs of ageing, it can make everything look worse, so make sure to keep your skin hydration levels up as a hydrated complexion will look plumped, healthy and youthful looking and feel soft and smooth. 

This is due to the fact that the outermost layer of the skin has the moisture it needs to flush away toxins and carry nutrients to the skin’s cells. Having an adequately hydrated face will help to improve skin elasticity which will reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

[ Review ] Grown Alchemist Body Cleanser

I have a soft spot for Grown Alchemist although not every product suits me, with my holy grail being the cream cleanser. Grown Alchemist Body Cleanser was my latest purchase and it looked so luxe in my bathroom. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

The Body Cleanser is housed in a 300ml pump bottle with its signature apothecary vibe. A larger size of 500ml is also available for purchase. I love the uplifting scent which is like a mixture of Neroli and Rosemary essential oils while the slippery gel contents felt lightweight on the skin.

How To Use : 

1) Dispense directly onto your hands or a damp sea sponge and massage over wet skin whilst under the shower. 

2) Rinse thoroughly. 

3) For a relaxing bath, pump a teaspoon of product into running water, soak and enjoy. 

Note : Caution avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse well with warm water.

Performance and Ingredients

Grown Alchemist Body Cleanser is said to cleanse and condition skin without stripping, help prevent the appearance of blemishes, drying and flaking and visibly improves skin elasticity. It is Vegan, Cruelty-free & Gluten-free.

The uplifting scent was a joy while the gel-like body cleanser lathers moderately well with very light suds for a gentle cleansing. That said, this isn't for those who likes loads of foaming action as there's not much foam. 

Unfortunately, there was a subtle drying feel and although it isn't a major issue but for the price paid, I would expect it to be more moisturising.

Conclusion

To conclude, Grown Alchemist Body Cleanser is a nice-to-have body wash which is beautiful in looks and uplifting in scent. Unfortunately, it was slightly drying and although its not a major issue, with body lotion added as part of a body care routine, it isn't something I prefer, especially for the price paid. Not a repurchase!

My all-time favourite body washes are Dr. Seed Honey & Bomb Moisture Body Wash and Moo Goo Milk Wash.
