I received Axis-Y Spot The Difference Blemish Treatment together with a bunch of goodies from a Stylekorean collaboration some time back. With good experiences in their past products like Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask, Axis-y Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask, Axis-y Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, Axis-y Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream and Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, I was excited to try out Axis-Y Spot The Difference Blemish Treatment.

When it comes to blemish treatments, many of us have a love-hate relationship. Traditional spot gels often work fast but leave the skin around the breakout feeling dry, tight, and sometimes even flaky. 

That’s why I prefer one that balances effectiveness with gentleness. A formula that can target blemishes quickly, without stripping or dehydrating the skin, so you get clearer skin and maintain a healthy complexion. The best ones soothe, calm, and reduce redness while keeping the skin comfortable with no harsh dryness, no peeling.

I used to struggle with hormonal pimples that popped up around that time of the month, but as I’ve grown older, they’ve shifted into the occasional random breakout on my chin. That’s why having an effective spot corrector for pimples has become an essential part of my skincare routine. I used to rely h on the Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil 100% Pure Multipurpose Liquid, but over time I found that it’s not as effective on my skin anymore which led me to explore gentler yet more targeted blemish treatments.

Being a mask lover, I was excited to try out Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask and Axis-y Green Vital Energy Complex Sheet Mask. Both of them are great for use on irritated skin days - choose between sheet mask or rinse-off mask!

Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask is formulated to brighten and soothe your skin as it is packed full of powerful ingredients to moisturize and reinforce the skin’s natural barrier function. Heartleaf repairs and soothes dull and irritated skin while 2% Niacinamide noticeably brightens and evens skin tone.

How To Use :

1) After cleansing the face, apply an even layer onto dry skin while avoiding the immediate eye area and the mouth
2) Gently rinse off with lukewarm water after leaving on for 10 - 15 minutes. 

Tips : Use 2 - 3 times per week. Leave on for 10-15 minutes for best results. 

Axis-y New Skin Resolution Gel Mask is a runny green gel mask filled with tiny heartleaf leaves in its contents. A tiny spatula is included but due to the runny and soft texture contents, the tiny spatula is not the easiest to use for scooping up the gel mask, as you need to scoop up several times ( for the whole face ) while trying not to drop the spatula back into the jar.

Axis-y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen is a mugwort based sunscreen featuring 2% Niacinamide and Squalane that protects skin from UVA and UVB damage while providing the healing properties of skin-loving ingredients for an every day, no-stress life. It contains no artificial fragrance and is allergen-free.

After hearing much raves about Axis-y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen on Instagram, I was elated to receive it from Axis-y as part of a paid partnership. Being in a humid country like Singapore with summer weather all year round, non-greasy and effective sunscreens are very important to me. 

This is a cruelty-free physical sunscreen that uses Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide as UV blockers. It is free from artificial colorants, mineral oils, fragrances and parabens. Infused green tea extract and plant-derived squalene help soothe skin.

In this post, I will be sharing my thoughts on their hydrating skincare range. 

Stress, hormones, diets, and climates can cause our skin to be dehydrated, which leads to sensitivity and other problems. For this reason, Axis-y set out to create new products that can hydrate and moisturize our skin according to our unique needs.

Hydrating skincare is the core of my skincare routine due to my skin type - combination skin with surface dehydration. Skin that is not hydrated enough will become dry, tight and flaky where lines, uneven skin, wrinkles, dark spots and texture are prone to look deeper and more pronounced.

Our skin is made up of three layers : the outer layer (epidermis), the underlying skin (dermis), and the subcutaneous tissue. When the outermost layer of your skin does not contain enough moisture, the skin will lose its elasticity and feel rough. 

Dehydrated skin appears weak, dull, and uneven and, when combined with signs of ageing, it can make everything look worse, so make sure to keep your skin hydration levels up as a hydrated complexion will look plumped, healthy and youthful looking and feel soft and smooth. 

This is due to the fact that the outermost layer of the skin has the moisture it needs to flush away toxins and carry nutrients to the skin’s cells. Having an adequately hydrated face will help to improve skin elasticity which will reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Axis-Y reached out to me for a collaboration some time back and I received Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum and Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream from Byoutsig ( Singapore authorized distributor ) for my usage and review. I have been using them for the past 3 months consistently so that I can provide a full proper review.

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum comes in a white and green 50ml plastic tube with an airless pump and a clear plastic cap. Cloudy in colour, it has a slight medicated scent with a cooling sensation. Lightweight and cooling, it glides well and absorbed quickly into skin. 

How To Use : 

1) Apply a small amount to entire face or problem areas.

2) Pat until completely absorbed. 

note : It can also be used as a sleeping mask

Performance and Ingredients

Cruelty free, vegan friendly and free from artificial colours, mineral oil, fragrances and parabens, Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum uses only EWG certified Green Grade ingredients to refresh and nourish skin with extracts from Calendula, Papaya and Sea Buckthorn, while also offering brightening effects with Rice Bran Extract.

With 5% Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, this serum clears common pigmentation concerns including dark spots and uneven skin tones. Packed with powerful botanical extracts such as Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit, Rice Bran and Papaya to better correct marks for clear, radiant skin and topped off with phytosqualane to keep skin glowing throughout the day.

I am happy to share that I love this serum so much! The lightweight gel texture is much welcomed in humid weather like Singapore without being sticky and leaving a greasy finishing. With just 1 - 2 pumps and regular usage over the past 3 months, it has given me a beautiful glow making my skin look brighter and healthier. 

That said, the serum does not pair well with Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream as my skin always looked so oily and shiny. I didn't like the combination. Yet I do not have such an issue if I pair the serum with Krave Beauty Oat So Simple Water Cream or Iunik Centella Calming Gel Cream which are lighter in textures. The issue lies with the Duo Cream which may be too heavy for my skin type. 

Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum uses a patented skincare technology where there is fermentation of natural ingredients with Lactobacillus to boost antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties with a soothing application. 

In terms of ingredients, it contains the following...

Niacinamide : A water soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances of the skin to help improve uneven skin tone, dullness and weakened skin barrier. 

Squalane : Keeps skin young by fighting off free radicals. Promotes the formation of collagen for firmer, plumper skin. Balances oil production for moisturized skin.

Papaya : Brightens sun damaged skin and dark eye circles. Softens the appearance of acne scars and uneven pigmentation.

Sea Buckthorn : Brighten skin and reduces spots. Supports the recovery of burns and wounds. Keeps skin hydrated by reducing water loss

Conclusion 

To conclude, Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum is a great lightweight serum for brighter glowing skin! That said, it may not be hydrating enough in colder countries but you can always layer another hydrating serum on top! 

Highly recommended for all skin types, those who have post-acne hyperpigmentation and those who suffer from hyperpigmentation.
