Rovectin Conditioning Cleanser is a gentle, low-pH, hydrating cleanser. It safely washes away daily grime without stripping your skin of its protective moisture barrier. Hypoallergenic, toxin-free and cruelty-free. 100% free from paraben, artificial colorants, artificial fragrances, mineral oil, and steroids.
After hearing so much about the brand on Instagram, I was elated to redeem a 20ml sample from their website some time back.
Rovectin comes from the Latin word reverti, meaning “to go back to where it was.” Their products feature restorative ingredients that go deep beyond the surface to gently repair damage and calm your complexion.
Rovectin was originally created for cancer patients suffering from dermatologic side effects caused by anticancer treatment and radiation therapy. Recommended by doctors and dermatologists, Rovectin offers the most advanced skincare formula developed by global cosmetic producer, HCT Group, upheld at the highest level of efficacy and safety standards, even on the most vulnerable and sensitive skin.
The brand strive to successfully address skin-related tolerability issues for individuals with irritated skin conditions and eventually enable them to become their full self by enhancing their confidence. In addition to contributing a portion of profit to cancer related NGOs, Rovectin has closely worked with patient groups and has held educational sessions at specialty care centers for cancer survivors.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Rovectin Conditioning Cleanser is clear in colour with slight coconut scent. It is watery yet able to provide some light suds for lathering on face. The sample I owned comes in a tube but the full retail size comes in a pump bottle.
How To Use :
1) Dampen hands with warm water and pump the cleanser two to three times onto palms.
2) Massage into the skin in a gentle circular motion, then splash warm water over the skin to rinse thoroughly.
Performance and Ingredients
Said to be a non-drying gentle cleanser that left skin clean, fresh and soothed while respecting the skin barrier, it is also low-pH, helping to balance the skin at its healthy pH range of 4.5—6.5 where the natural, plant-based micro-foam formula cleanses away impurities without irritation.
After reading how gentle their products were, I had high hopes that their cleanser would be gentle too. At first use, it really does look gentle with its clear watery texture that made me feel like I'm not even cleansing my face.
However, unfortunately, after 3 days of usage, my skin started to feel parched, tight and unpleasant which lasted for days.
In terms of key ingredients, the cleanser contains the following....
Glycerin : A natural hypoallergenic agent that absorbs and retains moisture from the air to keep the skin toned and hydrated.
Sodium Cocoamphoacetate : An organic compound derived from coconut oil that maintains pH levels and serves as an alkaline pH buffer agent. This ingredient is suitable for individuals with sensitive skin, including children and babies because of its mild and non-irritating properties.
Water, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, decyl glucoside, glycerin, sodium chloride, citric acid, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica extract, propanediol, butylene glycol, hexylene glycol, disodium edta, glycine, 1,2-hexanediol, serine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, protease, leucine, alanine, lysine, arginine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, threonine, proline, valine, isoleucine, vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, histidine, cysteine, methionine, ethylhexylglycerin, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, potassium benzoate, peg-120 methyl glucose trioleate
Conclusion
To conclude, Rovectin Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser wasn't a good fit for my skin type. It left my skin tight, parched and unpleasant which lasted for several days.
My favourite type of cleansers are milk cleansers!
