After a positive experience with Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, I had great expectations for Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream which I paired it after the Glow Serum and used it for the last 3 months.
Made in Korea, Axis-y uses 6 + 1 + 1 Advanced Formula for skincare which is made for people with oily, acne-prone skin living in humid climates. The Duo Cream is created to "customize" skincare routine based on how the skin looks and feels so that it would be a unique "my type" routine for healthy and happy skin.
6 + 1 + 1 in Axis-y simply refer to 6 Natural Ingredients ( Centella Asiatica, Purslane, Sorghum, Sage, Allantoin and Rice ), 1 Core Ingredient ( Heartleaf ) and 1 Revolutionary Technology ( Pure Medi ). You can read more about it on their website.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream comes in a 60ml plastic tub with 2 types of textured moisturiser - each at 30ml. The gel type which is blue in colour is formulated for the T-zone as the texture is more lightweight and the cream type which is white in colour is meant for the U-zone as the texture is more moisturising. No scent/fragrance was detected.
How To Use :
1) Use the provided spatula to scoop the desired cream and apply onto the appropriate areas.
2) T Zone cream for oiler areas, U Zone cream for drier areas, mix both for areas needing moisture and hydration.
Performance and Ingredients
Made in Korea, the Duo Cream features two completely unique cream formulation to tend to your skin's moisturising needs. The T-zone is a lightweight Heartleaf based cream that hydrates oily skin while the U-Zone Cream is a rich Ceramide based cream that nourishes dry skin.
Both sides are filled with beneficial ingredients such as : Glasswort (strengthening), Sage (fungi fighting), Reed (prevent sunspots), Licorice (brightening), Allantoin (healing), Rice (oil balancing), and Centella (calming).
The product does not contain Parabens, Mineral Oil, Artificial Color, Triethanolamine, Additives, Alcohol, Silicone, Artificial Fragrance, Irritant Essential Oils and Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
The duo cream concept sounds promising as they seem to be able to fit well to a variety of skin types, especially combination skin and you can "customize" it according to your skin needs on that day hence it was rather unfortunate that my skin does not like them.
The T-Zone Gel-Cream formulation provides that burst of hydration with a cooling sensation and left a smooth after-feel. It is blue in colour due to Guaiazulene.
White in colour, the U-Zone Cream formulation has a richer and more emollient texture as compared to the T-Zone Gel-Cream.
Unfortunately, both cream formulation were alittle too rich for my skin type, in humid weather like in Singapore. My skin would look oily and shiny when used on its own or if paired with the wrong products which include its own Axis-y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, Iunik Black Snail Restore Serum or 5erenity2Renew Mask.
I also get the occasional zit from using this Duo Cream paired with other products which could be too rich for my skin. On dehydrated skin, the moisturizer does not hydrate my skin sufficiently.
That said, I do like how Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream pairs beautifully with 5erenity2 Renew Serum as it moisturizes my skin sufficiently. Unfortunately, I have used up the 5erenity2 Renew Serum now so I am still looking for other serums that can pair well with this Duo Cream.
Upon stumbling on one of the reviewers' suggestion on Axis-y website, I tried using the Duo Cream as a rinse-off mask and it worked perfectly! I use the U-zone cream as a thick moisturizing mask on dehydrated skin days and the T-zone cream as a thick mask on other days. Both worked so well in replenishing moisture back to my skin, leaving it softer, smoother, supple and hydrated which lasted till the following day.
This was my first experience in using a moisturizer as a rinse-off mask and I am stoked on this new repurpose for moisturizers that do not work well on my skin. Yeah!

Centella Asiatica ( T & U Zone ) : Improves skin’s amount of moisture. Fights premature aging. Rich in natural anti-oxidants
Purslane ( U Zone ) : Gentle for sensitive skin. Stimulates the production of collagen. Defends against free-radicals.

Houttuynia Cordata Extract ( T Zone ) : Contains a good amount of polyphenolic flavonoids, four common ones being quercetin, quercitrin, hyperoside, and rutin. All of these exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. Quercitrin has also been shown to decrease damage from UVB rays, which is an added bonus.
Sage ( T Zone ) : Soothes irritation. Defends against bacteria and fungi. Regulates sebum production.
Allantoin : Aids in the healing of skin. Increase skin smoothness. Fights premature aging.

Conclusion
To conclude, Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream was not a good fit for my skin type. However, what does not work for me may just work well for you as skincare is very personal. The cream is too rich and makes my skin looked oily and shiny.
However, I was delighted that it worked beautifully as a rinse-off mask, giving rise to smooth, soft, supple and hydrated skin which lasted till the following day!
