Ever since I noticed my hair crown being slightly flatter, I have been on the lookout for hair loss products. A good friend recommended PHS Hairscience FEM Daily Regime Starter Kit to me which worked pretty well for her post-natal hair loss.

Step 1: Double Cleanse
Wet hair and apply ADV Nutrition Shampoo. Gently massage into scalp, working up a creamy lather. Rinse thoroughly.
Repeat with FEM Fortify Shampoo
Step 2: Moisturise
Apply Conditioner onto damp hair, avoiding the scalp. Leave on for 1-2 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Step 3: Treat
Shake FEM Fortify Tonic well before use. Section hair and apply on towel-dried scalp. Massage scalp with fingertips. Leave in. Use daily.

PHS Hairscience ADV Nutrition Shampoo is an essential daily shampoo and scalp cleanser that removes unhealthy build-up from sweat, dirt and excess sebum in the hair follicles, while strengthening the scalp’s natural protective barrier. It does not contain Parabens, Benzophenone, Mineral Oil and Artificial Colourants.
To be honest, this is the first time I am using 2 shampoos in a hair routine so I was curious to find out if double cleanse is really necessary to keep my hair woes at bay.
The ADV Nutrition Shampoo with its dark orange contents has a herbal scent with a medium-thick consistency that left a slight minty tingly sensation which was refreshing. Strangely, the minty sensation became more apparent after rinsing off so some may actually like using this in our humid weather.
The shampoo lathers well with moderate suds but can be slightly drying for my frequently-coloured hair, as it made my hair straw-like during shampoo-ing.
This first cleanse is said to remove unhealthy build-up to unclog hair follicles and restore scalp moisture balance and improve barrier functions.
As the first shampoo, it really does its job in deep cleansing by helping to remove unhealthy build-up and prep the hair and scalp for the second shampoo use. However, because of its deep cleansing properties, it can be drying so a conditioner is definitely needed.
Overall, PHS Hairscience ADV Nutrition Shampoo won't be a repurchase but what doesn't work well for me may just work for you.

After rinsing off PHS Hairscience ADV Nutrition Shampoo in Step 1, its time to move on to the second step of the double cleanse regime with FEM Fortify Shampoo.
This shampoo has a herbal scent that smells almost similar to ADV Nutrition Shampoo but with a more minty and tingly sensation that was instantly apparent once its applied on the hair. The medium-thick consistency made it a nice lathering experience.
Being the 2nd cleanse, it foams much more with more suds that almost got into my eyes several times.
As a double cleansing regime, they left my hair cleaner for longer periods and I can wash my hair on alternate day instead of daily.
If I use FEM Fortify Shampoo alone and not part of a double cleanse regime, the foaming suds would be much lesser and my hair started to get a subtle oiliness on the 3rd day when its due for wash.
Overall, while I did not notice any improvement to my hair thinning issues, my scalp did felt less oily and when used as part of a double cleanse regime, I was able to keep my hair cleaner for longer periods.

For my long and thick tresses, the 50ml travel sized FEM Fortify Conditioner was hardly sufficient to pair with the two shampoos as I only manage to use 5 times before it depleted while I still have a significant remaining amount of the shampoos and hair tonic. A 75ml size may be more appropriate, since we always use way more conditioner than shampoo in 1 sitting.
The white creamy contents were a pleasure to coat the hair ends for a good conditioning before rinsing off, leaving my hair soft and smooth with its fresh and fruity scent. I like that this conditioner just require a short 2 minutes to weave its magic but I like to leave it for slightly longer periods for a deeper moisturising effect.
That said, I didn't notice a spectacular difference in the hair fall, but then again, 5 times were insufficient to make a judgement call on the efficacy.
Overall, this conditioner left my hair soft and smooth but I may need a larger size for me to assess its effectiveness.

A good hair tonic is so important for hair strengthening properties and I regretted not starting it earlier, instead only when I started to lose more hair. I had a good experience with NaturVital Hairloss Tonic Treatment but it was sold out the last time I was searching for it.
I like that PHS Hairscience FEM Fortify Tonic comes in a spray form, even in its 15ml travel size. Just section the towel-dried hair, spray and massage in.
The texture is light and watery, with a subtle herbal scent and no alcohol scent which I appreciate. It is minty in application, which provides an invigorating boost. I am on the fence whether adding in this hair tonic with the 4 products hair regime makes a difference as the result isn't consistent.
A 100ml does not come cheap and with the inconsistent result, its not something I will repurchase.

Conclusion
Overall, the PHS Hairscience FEM Daily Regime Starter Kit wasn't a good fit for me. PHS Hairscience ADV Nutrition Shampoo was slightly drying while FEM Fortify Shampoo kept my scalp and hair less oily but there was no improvement to hair fall. Instead, I still experience much hair fall during the period of using the starter kit.
FEM Fortify Conditioner left my hair soft and smooth which most conditioners can do. The star product is FEM Fortify Tonic which reduced my hair fall but the result isn't consistent.
Glad that this starter kit worked well for my good friend to combat her post-natal hair loss but it just isn't for me.
