If you colour your hair regularly, using a shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for colour-treated hair can help keep your hair looking vibrant for longer while maintaining its health.
Colour-safe hair care is designed to cleanse gently, reduce colour fading, and keep hair soft and manageable. I recently tested this colour shampoo and conditioner during my 11-day trip to Hokkaido after colouring my hair, and here's how they performed.
I received complimentary 50ml travel-sized bottles of the colour shampoo and conditioner with my hair salon package, which I brought along on my recent trip to Hokkaido. Having coloured my hair just three days before my departure, it was the perfect opportunity to see how well they would protect my freshly coloured hair under different climates.
During my stay in Asahikawa, Noboribetsu, and Lake Toya in Hokkaido, the shampoo and conditioner performed impressively. I experienced virtually no hair fall while washing or blow-drying my hair, and my hair felt healthy and easy to manage throughout the trip.
The shampoo produces only a light lather, which is common with gentler, colour-safe formulas, and has a pleasant fragrance that makes washing enjoyable. The white creamy conditioner smells good and left my hair feeling soft, smooth, and noticeably more manageable without weighing it down.
However, the results became less impressive after arriving in Sapporo, where I noticed a slight increase in hair fall during washing and blow-drying. Once I returned to Singapore's hot and humid climate, the hair fall became even more noticeable. While this may have been influenced by environmental changes rather than the products alone, it was a difference worth mentioning.
One benefit I consistently noticed was that my hair colour stayed vibrant for longer than usual. The shampoo and conditioner appeared to help minimise colour fading, making them a good option for anyone looking to extend the life of freshly coloured hair while keeping it soft and manageable.
Overall, this colour shampoo and conditioner are worth considering if your priority is maintaining vibrant hair colour and keeping your hair soft and manageable. While the anti-hair fall performance varied depending on the environment and hair condition, I was pleased with how well they preserved my hair colour throughout my trip.
