I received this soothing ampoule together with the I'm From Licorice Calming Cream as part of a Wishtrend collaboration sometime back. As required, I shared my first impressions on Instagram after two weeks of usage. However, I found myself reaching for it less often than expected, as it didn’t fully meet my initial expectations during the early phase.
That said, first impressions don’t always tell the full story. After consistently using and eventually emptying the entire bottle, it’s only fair to revisit this calming ampoule and share a more complete, long-term review covering its soothing performance, skin compatibility, and whether it truly delivers on its claims for sensitive and irritated skin.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
I'm From Licorice Soothing Ampoule comes in a 30ml glass bottle equipped with a dropper applicator, allowing for hygienic and precise dispensing where you simply twist the cap, press the popped-up lid, and you can use the dropper.
The ampoule carries a subtle herbal scent that feels calming and non-overpowering, making it suitable for sensitive skin users who prefer fragrance-light skincare.
In terms of texture, it has a lightweight ampoule consistency that spreads easily across the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky or greasy residue which is ideal for layering within both morning and evening skincare routines.
How To Use:
Apply to the face daily, morning and night.
Performance and Ingredients
I’m From Licorice Soothing Ampoule is formulated with licorice grown in Iksan, often referred to as the breadbasket of Korea, a region known for its nutrient-rich soil and high-quality botanical ingredients. The star ingredient, licorice extract, is paired with the brand’s licorice-derived soothing exosome technology, designed to calm sensitive skin while replenishing inner moisture. This helps support a healthier oil–water balance, making the ampoule suitable for easily irritated or dehydrated skin types.
Upon first application, I experienced a mild, temporary stinging sensation around my laugh lines, which was unexpected. Fortunately, this did not persist with subsequent uses and did not lead to redness or irritation. In terms of performance, the lightweight, clear ampoule texture absorbs quickly into the skin without heaviness, leaving my skin soft, smooth the following morning.
It also helped to calm and minimize the occasional red patches, particularly around my right eyebrow area where I tend to experience random redness.
Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Xanthan Gum, Erythritol, Beta-Sitosterol, Malt Extract, Cysteine HCl, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Phytosterols, Sclerotium Gum, Glycine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate
Conclusion
To conclude, I'm From Licorice Soothing Ampoule is a calming treatment designed primarily to soothe sensitive skin and reduce visible redness over time, rather than to deliver hydration. While consistent use may help minimise recurring red patches and calm irritation, the results are gradual and require patience, especially for persistent areas of redness.
On my combination skin with dehydrated surface, I feel that this ampoule does not provide noticeable hydration on its own and works better when paired with a hydrating serum or moisturizer.
