I received a complimentary 30ml size of Be Plain Cicaful Ampoule from 0.8liter in return for an honest review. 0.8liter is a platform opened to any one to apply for a chance to try products and review them timely. There is also an app available which is more convenient for one to check it periodically. You can also follow me on 0.8 liter to get updates on the products I reviewed for them.
Be Plain Cicaful Ampoule has an aesthetic-pleasing minimalistic vibe that looks gorgeous on the dressing table. It comes in a frosted glass bottle with a dropper dispenser. Accompanying the bottle is a Be Planner that is supposed to guide you to use the ampoule effectively by following their different guidance tips for each week up to the 4th week. I thought this was quite a thoughtful gesture which the brand tries to ensure that you are using the ampoule correctly.
The guidance tips would be useful for those new to skincare or new to using ampoule while I personally really appreciate the key tips as illustrated below. They are useful to people like me who want to maximize the usage of the product in different ways in order to feel the impact and effectiveness. I like that a product can be used in different ways especially if my skin acts up and I can't use it in the usual way.
Week 1 Focus : Make your skin ready to absorb the ampoule 100%
Week 2 Focus : Build up healthy skin care habits to boost up the ampoule's effect
Week 3 Focus : To lighten acne scars, avoid any causes that would irritate your skin
Week 4 Focus : Maintain your skincare habits for better skin conditions

Week 1 : Apply less items for skincare to maximize the ampoule's effect ( toner - ampoule - cream )
Week 2 : Put cicaful ampoule-soaked cotton pad for 5 minutes on your troubled spot. It diminishes irritation
Week 3 : Apply extra ampoule to troubled spots for lightening acne scars
Week 4 : End of 4 weeks home care
Containing 84% Centella Asiatica extract for skin recovery, Be Plain Cicaful Ampoule is colourless and scentless with a watery texture that applies effortlessly on skin. There is a very slight stickiness which goes away after a short while.
I have broken capillaries on the sides of my nose which turns red easily, so I tend to prefer nourishing and gentle products in my skincare regime. The Cicaful Ampoule comes in handy after cleansing to soothe and minimize the redness. The effect is not immediate but takes some time before my redness subsided, which is understandable since strong products with immediate improvement may upset the skin further.
Unfortunately, my skin broke out whenever I am using the Ampoule. Zits formed on my chin area, one after another. During the 10 day usage, there was a total of 3 zits on my chin area. So long that I don't use the Ampoule on the chin, it worked fine on my skin.
Nearing the end of the contents, the dropper was not able to pick up the remaining ampoule contents, so I have to pour them out for usage which is pretty fuss-free.
In terms of ingredients, I have pulled the ingredient list from its website as all the description on the packaging is in Korean. However, judging from the list below, it may be difficult to understand the percentage of each ingredient or which has the highest and lowest concentration. However, you can be sure that most of the ingredients are potentially safe.
The key ingredient, Centella Asiatica, has been gaining traction of late, which is found in several Korean beauty products. According to skincare guru, Paula Begoun, it contains active compounds, including madecassoside, which serves as an antioxidant. Centella Asiatica itself also has been shown to have potent antioxidant properties and to be a rich source of amino acids, and there’s additional research showing that it is a good hydrating ingredient to soothe upset or compromised skin. It also helps to mitigate some of the visible effects of sun damage, plus there’s evidence that it can help revitalize skin’s protective barrier.
According to research study here, Centella Asiatica (Gotu kola) is effective in improving treatment of small wounds, hypertrophic wounds as well as burns, psoriasis and scleroderma. The mechanism of action involves promoting fibroblast proliferation and increasing the synthesis of collagen and intracellular fibronectin content and also improvement of the tensile strength of newly formed skin as well as inhibiting the inflammatory phase of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Research results indicate that it can be used in the treatment of photoaging skin, cellulite and striae.
