[ Review ] : Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner

Containing 45% hyaluronic acid and 5% hippophae rhamnoides fruit extract, this runny gel-type toner is quickly absorbed by skin and offers moisturizing and brightening benefits.

I purchased a couple of Iunik products in Korea and one of them was Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner. Check out my previous reviews on Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum, Beta-Glucan Daily Moisture Cream, Iunik Tea Tree Relief Serum, Iunik Black Snail Restore Serum and Iunik Centella Calming Gel. 

At 200ml size, it took me about 3.5 months to deplete it, with twice daily usage.

Benefits of Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner comes in a clear plastic bottle with a twist and turn cap. The toner is clear in colour with a gel texture that has a viscous consistency. It is scentless and easy to glide on skin with cotton pads or hands but left a rather sticky film behind which goes away after awhile.

Performance and Ingredients

I enjoyed using Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner for its moisturizing and brightening benefits. I started off with using cotton pads to apply them as its fuss-free, convenient and quicker and moved on to using hands when I have alittle bit more time as I would pat my skin all over ( after spreading the toner on my palms ) with light tapping motions.

According to L'oreal,

"Patting is a gentler way to apply your skin care products, which means it helps to minimize how much you’ll pull or drag on your skin. Since rubbing—which is the way many people tend to apply their skin care products—can create friction on your skin, it can cause irritation and inflammation, and even lead to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The truth is, it’s always better to treat your skin with a light hand as it can be more fragile than you’d think. Some proponents of the technique even suggest that patting can help skin care products to penetrate better."

The toner with its gel texture does left a slight tacky sensation behind but it goes away after a short while and doesn't really bother me as I would be following up with a serum and moisturizer. The texture may feel thick but it absorbs nicely into skin. You can also do a quick 2 to 3 layers on skin if you have super dry skin.

Initially, I was disappointed that there was no brightening effect but after using for about 60%, I started to see the brightening glow on skin. It was instantaneous, immediately after all the tapping motions and I was like WOW.

      

Needless to say, I was very pleased with Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner! I like that the product is affordable with great ingredients, hydrates well and plumps up the skin with a brightening glow! It is also one of ( Gothamista ) Renee's favourite products in 2018!

In terms of ingredients, this gel type toner offers powerful vitalizing and moisturizing care with 5% Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruits Extract and 45% Hyaluronic Acid. Nutritious Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruits Extract enriched with Vitamins provides ample nutrients and outstanding whitening effect in creating bright, clear skin while high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid supplies rich moisture with moisture loss block.

Conclusion

If you have been battling with dehydration, dry and dull skin, do consider adding Iunik Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner into your skincare routine but you must be patient to see the effects as it took me about 2.5 months of daily usage to see the brightening glow on my skin. This is also one of the reasons as to why I don't switch products unless I used it up, as I think its only fair to give each product time to work on the skin! Leave a comment if you love them too!

Since I have long hair, such hair masks are much welcomed for glossy and moisturising locks, especially since I seldom do hair treatments after each hair colouring job nowadays.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask comes in a bright and colourful packaging that would be sure to add a dose of colour and fun to your bathroom shelf.

I can't describe the scent too well, but it reminded me of those hair treatment scents in hair salons. Not overpowering but a nice-to-have scent that lingered on the hair for awhile.

I actually spent some time searching for the opening of the white plastic cap when in fact, one just need to "tear" open the cap and slip all the hair in. The white creamy contents ( which isn't alot ) are found within the cap to condition the hair through heat.

How To Use 
1. After shampooing, gently squeeze out excess water from your hair.
2. Remove the hair mask from the package and gently separate by tugging on the two flaps of the mask.
3. Place the mask over your hair, adjusting to your head by tightening the sticker link strap. Make sure the sticker comes to the front of your head.
4. Lightly massage your hair from the outside of the cap to make sure the nutrients are thoroughly absorbed into the hair.
5. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
Note: This hair mask has a slight steaming effect, so don’t be alarmed if it feels warm!

Performance and Ingredients

Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free and Animal Cruelty Free, FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask worked the same way as Yuchoo By Me Steam Hair Mask where the cap is said to retain both the heat and moisture of freshly washed hair to lock in the ingredients, so as to deliver nutrients to the hair to instantly strengthen and nourish damaged hair.

After shampoo-ing the hair, I pushed in all the towel-dried hair to be within the cap, use the sticker to seal up the cap and followed the instruction to wait for 15 minutes. It is recommended to massage the hair with the cap but as the adhesive isn't too sticky so any movement may shift the whole cap position and loosen the sticker, so I refrained from doing it.

The heat cap emits warmth but isn't hot at all. I still have to touch the cap several times to ensure that its "working". :P

After 15 minutes, its time to rinse off the hair mask, however, I don't feel the difference on hair until it dried and I can instantly felt that my hair was soft, smooth and tangle-free. The following day, my hair still felt soft and smooth even during shampoo-ing.

In terms of ingredients, FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask contains Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Olive Oil to condition and soften unruly, tangled hair. Ginger Root Extract and Green Tea Extract helps to improve scalp health and moisturize dry hair.

Conclusion

To conclude, FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask is an effective hair treatment product for soft, smooth and tangle-free tresses. However, I do wish that the white creamy contents can be much more for long and thick tresses like mine!

The individual packs are so travel-friendly that you can bring them wherever you go, for softer hair immediately - on a staycation, on a cruise or overseas trip! I wouldn't mind repurchasing them!

Made in England, Neal's Yard Remedies Deliciously Ella Rose, Lime and Cucumber Body Wash is vegan and does not contain parabens, synthetic colours or fragrance and animal testing. I enjoyed using the body wash in the morning with the uplifting scent that makes one's day better.

It lathers well for a good cleansing experience but unfortunately, it left my skin feeling slightly drier at times so it won't be a repurchase for me.

In terms of ingredients, Neal's Yard Remedies Deliciously Ella Rose, Lime and Cucumber Body Wash contains the following,

[ Review ] : Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Aqua Solution + Firming Solution

Scinic stands for Science + Natural + Clinic, a skin care brand that helps skin clinics that meet your needs based on natural ingredients and correct scientific analysis. Established in 2009, Scinic fills the main principles of the brand science: natural, right self-treatment. The main feature of the brand is the use of extracts and oils from seeds with the maximum concentration of nutrients, as well as marine collagen, algae extracts, hyaluronic acid and, traditional for Korean brands, snail mucus. The cosmetics contain a maximum of natural ingredients and the composition of the brand does not contain ingredients such as alcohol, artificial fragrances and dyes.

Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Aqua Solution makes skin tone look bright and clear and provides moisture to dry skin. The dual sheet for the T-zone and V-zone makes skin feel elastic and helps skin absorb effective substances as it closely adheres to skin.

This mask comes in 2 parts - upper face and lower face portions where each portion is kept separated in the packaging. Unfortunately, there is no instruction to inform if we should tear the left or the right portion to retrieve the different face mask portions yet its recommended to use the upper part of the mask first, followed by the lower part of the mask.

Since its usual to tear the one on the left first, it turned out my choice was incorrect as that contain the lower part of the mask. Personally, I don't think it matters much, so long you aligned them properly.

Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Aqua Solution has a subtle perfumy scent with a medium thin material texture that adhered well to skin, with a neck flap as a bonus. The cutting is good which fits my cherubic face shape.

Said to make your skin moist and smooth by improving it's vitality and elasticity with the help of Niacinamide and Jania Rubens Extract, my skin felt very comfortable as though my dehydrated skin was enveloped with moisture.

After a 20 minute masking session, my skin was indeed hydrated ( with all the rough areas on my nose gone ) and looked brighter.

In terms of ingredients, it contains the following :

Niacinamide : Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, Niacinamide is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface. It also reduces the impact of environmental damage because of its ability to improve skin’s barrier (its first line of defense), plus it also plays a role in helping skin to repair signs of past damage.

Jania Rubens Extract : Prized for its ultramoisturizing and protective properties due to the high concentration of minerals and trace elements present in its tissue, Jania Rubens is characterized by a concentration of minerals and trace elements 20,000 to 40,000 times greater than that of seawater, thus giving it remineralizing properties. It is also used in skin brightening and hydrating products.

Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Firming Solution is an elasticity care mask that improves skin's radiance and elasticity by reducing wrinkles. The dual sheet for the T-zone and V-zone makes skin feel elastic and helps skin absorb effective substances as it closely adheres to skin.

Since I have the last experience of tearing Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Aqua Solution on the left side, I tore the right portion for this sheet mask first which stored the upper face portion. It is recommended ( on the instructions ) to layer the upper face portion, followed by the lower face portion. There is a neck flap which is a pretty good bonus to mask the commonly neglected part.

It has a similar sturdy material texture and contains a subtle scent with a good cutting that fits my cherubic face shape. After a 20 minute masking session, my skin felt slightly smoother, however I am unable to attest to its wrinkle reduction capability as I don't have wrinkles for now.

In terms of ingredients, it contains the following :

Adenosine : Decreases the appearance of wrinkles by energizing the skin's surface. Studies have shown skincare containing Adenosine led to significant improvements in skin smoothness, decreased appearance of crow's feet and reduce the depth of brow wrinkles. The result is a smoother more youthful complexion.

Dipotassium glycyrrhizate : A skin-conditioning agent that has the ability to improve the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness. It has a soothing effect and also calms inflammation

Conclusion

To conclude, if I must choose one between both facial masks, my vote goes to Scinic Intensive Dual Mask Aqua Solution as its more effective on me.

I first came across Acwell Dermild Airy Sun Control Stick SPF 50 PA++++ when I was shopping in one of the beauty stores in Korea. The promoter highly recommended it to me, as there was a 1 for 1 promotional price. Prior to this, I have only tried Acwell facial sheet masks and was initially hesitant in trying out a sun stick as I was worried about the hygienic factor and the difficulty of it gliding on my skin.

However, I was won over by the promoter's sales pitch and with the 1 for 1 promotion, it was hard to resist so off the bundle goes, into my basket.

Made in Korea, Acwell is a Korean herbal skincare brand that focuses on helping sensitive and troubled skin.

While out shopping with my girlfriends, we chanced upon a 1 for 1 special deal for the Mummy Mud Mask at Guardian and subsequently purchased 2 pieces for $7 (instead of the original $7 for 1 piece).

April Skin is a South Korean cosmetics brand established in October 2014. Known for its cosmetics which are made from natural ingredients, their first products launched were the Natural Soap and Magic Stone.

According to Forbes, the duo launched their natural cosmetics brand, AprilSkin and claiming to be the first company to use social media influencer marketing in South Korea which attracted 10 million followers. Some of the videos the company created featured teen bloggers experimenting with its signature Magic Stone soap went viral, leading to massive sales in a country obsessed with beauty products.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

April Skin Mummy Mud Mask comes in 2 parts - one for the upper face and one for the lower face. Both parts are protected within a clear hard plastic layer and each of the upper/lower face piece is protected within a plastic protective layer and a white matte film.

Ash-grey in colour, the mud mask has a subtle kaolin scent with a cooling sensation. The cutting is just right for my cherubic face shape, except for a slightly longer nose flap. The thin material felt like a hydrogel with mud-like contents on the mask.

How To Use :
1. Clean your face thoroughly and smooth the skin using a facial toner.
2. Remove the transparent film of the upper mask first, and apply the mask on the face and peel off the white matte film.
3. Apply the lower mask in the same way.
4. When the mask becomes completely dry ( 30 minutes ), peel it off from the chin.
5. Wash up remains on the face and moisturizes with a facial toner.

Hailing from Korea, Tipio is a lifestyle beauty brand launched by L & P Cosmetics, which Mediheal belongs to. They provide customized TPO products tailored to the various needs of consumers, focusing on the needs of customers depending on time, place and situation.

TPO released two multi-patches that care for a part of the face. It is a 'lip and eye twin patch' and a '4 piece multi patch'.

Lip and Eye Twin Patch can be used to care for the skin around the eyes and lips. Honey extract and royal jelly extract are added to the hydrogel patch to provide moisture and nutrients to dry skin.

4 Piece Multi Patch consists of 4 pieces of long patch, so you can freely care where you want. It can be used mainly under the eyes, eyelids, and wrinkles of the arms. It is made of hydrogel and contains collagen and hyaluronic acid.

I purchased both types during my Korea trip as they looked interesting and caught my attention!

T.P.O Lip and Eye Twin Patch comes in a clear plastic round clamp shell with 3 pieces - 2 pieces for the undereye area and 1 piece for the lips area. The gold jelly-like material is very thin and sheer to the point of being crumbly and tear easily. The patches are sticky so they adhere well on my undereye area.
