Review for Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum
Product Description
Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum is an all-around serum enriched with beta-glucan to moisturize and strengthen skin’s barrier, while also providing brightening and wrinkle care.

If you have dry and sensitive skin and is looking for a moisturizing serum, then check out my review to see if Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum is the right one for you! Beta-Glucan is widely known as the 3rd generation of moisturizing technology ( 1st is Glycerin and 2nd is Hyaluronic Acid ) where it is said to retain moisture 20% better than Hyaluronic Acid and improves skin elasticity and recovery.

You would be glad to know that Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum contains pure Beta-Glucan to help rebalance skin oil levels. You can check out more about the product on Iunik website.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper that dispenses the serum with just the right amount. I usually use about 1 ~ 2 drops and the 50ml bottle lasted me for about 3.5 months.

Consistency of Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum
Spreading out the serum texture

Clear in colour, the serum has a light natural scent while the texture has a viscous consistency with a light tacky sensation. Even though it feels lightweight, the subtle tackiness does take some time for it to be absorbed into the skin, leaving a slight smooth feel behind. That said, I usually don't wait and apply Iunik moisturiser directly after the serum.

Description for Iunik Beta-Glucan Power Moisture Serum
Beta-Glucan Fermentation Solution 100%

In terms of ingredients, the words printed on my bottle were stated as "Beta-Glucan Fermentation Solution 100%" so I am presuming that it contains 100% Beta-Glucan. On some websites, I have read that theirs contain 98% Beta-Glucan and 2% PCA while the latest version is said to contain 6 ingredients. Even with 6 ingredients, EWG has rated it with a low hazard score of 1.

So what is Beta-Glucan? Î²-Glucans (beta-glucans) are polysaccharides, a more complex type of carbohydrate like starch, cellulose and glycogens, and can be found in oats, yeast, algae and various fungi. Naturally rich in antioxidants, beta-glucan is known to effectively block harmful UV rays as well as promote healing and immune-enhancing benefits, making it a powerful anti-aging ingredient.

                                             Iunik Power Moisture Serum

Studies had shown that Beta Glucan is 20% more hydrating than hyaluronic acid at the same concentration. It is a humectant, which means it not only provides intense hydration for the skin but also helps to prevent moisture loss!

Naturally extracted from fungi that have toning properties that improve the elasticity of the skin, Beta-Glucan can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles, help tissues to regenerate while strengthening the skin barrier.

According to Incidecoder, Beta-Glucan is a mild antioxidant, a great skin soother and moisturizer, and even shows promising anti-aging benefits.

The manufacturer of the ingredient did a published study with 27 people and examined the effect of 0.5% beta-glucan. They found that despite the large molecular size beta-glucan does penetrate into the skin, even into the dermis (the middle layer of the skin where wrinkles form). After 8 weeks there was a significant reduction of wrinkle depth and height and skin roughness has also improved greatly.

Hi,
The Beta Glucan serum which I used contains 100% Beta Glucan, while the newer version contains 6 ingredients and according to Cosmily ( https://cosmily.com/products/iunik-beta-glucan-power-moisture-serum ), it's free of harmful alcohols, allergens, gluten, sulfates, fungal acne feeding components, parabens, silicones, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and synthetic fragrances with some comedogenic components. Hope that helps.
