[ Review ] : Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub

I purchased Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub from Iherb recently but the product has since been discontinued. I am not sad about it since I didn't really like it but what don't work for me, may just work well for you. 

Love Beauty & Planet is one of the many brands under Unilever with the belief that the brand can make a little difference towards a happier, less wasteful planet with every shower, using ethically and sustainably sourced extracts. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub is housed in a 260g tub with pink floral illustrations. It has a feminine vibe and would make a perfect Christmas gift for your girlfriend. 

It has a distinct floral rose scent with a white lightweight creamy texture that contains tiny sugar beads. The formula is infused with ethically sourced rose absolute from Bulgaria and exudes a rich, warm, floral rose experience.

The natural vibrancy of rose is enhanced by the juicy freshness of red berries, delivering an intensely feminine and refreshing ambiance in your shower. 

 Unfortunately, I found the scent to be alittle too sweet and cloying for me. 

How To Use :

1) Scoop Love Beauty and Planet® Peace and Glow Body Scrub out of the jar.

2) Massage onto your skin with light pressure, rinse off. 

note : If you are new to exfoliation, first test on one part of your body. If you have sensitive skin, first talk to your dermatologist. 

Tip : Start off using once per week and then gradually increase to 3-4 times per week. 

Performance and Ingredients

Described as a delightful creamy body scrub that tickles your senses and delivers smooth, touchable skin every time while removing dullness from the skin, Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub comes across as a gentle creamy body scrub for smoother skin.

Formulated with sugar and rose absolute, the creamy body scrub glides well on the body but was drying since Day 1. It has that squeaky kind of dryness which I absolutely hate, making me disappointed with the formulation. 

The body scrub has tiny granules which are not abrasive ( and not gentle too ) but left my skin slightly smoother although not spectacularly so. It is not greasy and doesn't leave any moisturizing film behind. However, it is really drying and a body lotion is definitely recommended after every exfoliating session.

Not a product I would recommend for those with dry and sensitive skin.

Conclusion

To conclude, Love Beauty & Planet Peace and Rose Creamy Body Scrub has a cloying sweet rose scent with a squeaky kind of dryness which I detest. The tiny granules are neither harsh nor gentle. I wouldn't recommended it to those with sensitive or dry skin though. 

My all-time favourite body scrubs are Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub and Origins Smoothing Ginger Body Scrub.

[ Review ] : Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing and Brightening )

 

After major disappointments with Kao Biore Tegotae Eye Mask, Dr. Hu Collagen & Seaweed Eye Treatment Mask and Dr. Hu Bird Nest Peptides Collagen Eye Treatment Mask, I chanced upon Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing ) and Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Brightening ) in Guardian and promptly purchased 2 of each variant.

Part of the L'Oreal Group, Garnier is an international haircare and skincare brand reputed as a renowned beauty expert. Harnessing the bounty of nature, all ingredients used in the products are extracted using the brand's cutting-edge expertise and techniques offering customers worldwide uncomplicated care products formulated for radiantly alluring hair and skin.

Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing ) is a new generation of eye masks enriched with rejuvenating Coconut Water and hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Smooth lines and de-puff eyes with a bomb of hydration in just 15 minutes! For tired eyes showing first signs of ageing, this domino-shaped mask lifts skin around the eyes, revealing awake, fresh and younger looking eyes.

How To Use : 

1) Apply eye mask on cleansed skin

2) Smoothen the mask gently to ensure contact with skin

3) Adjust eye mask to cover full eye contour area

4) Leave for 15 minutes.

5) Remove mask and gently massage excess formula into skin.

Tip : For more cooling effect, keep in fridge 

Made in China, Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing ) is thin like a tissue mask and comes folded with a protective layer. It sits comfortably on the eye area, with a shape that looks like one of the superheroes. I enjoyed the generous size so that all areas around the eyes are covered. That said, there seems to be a subtle scent of alcohol but it wasn't listed on the ingredient list. 

Its been said that after use of the eye serum mask, the skin temperature is reduced by up to -4°C to provide a refreshing cooling temperature. Indeed the undereye areas felt comforted. 

Enriched with the goodness of coconut water and hyaluronic acid, the first eye serum mask has provided me with a pleasant surprising result as my undereye area looked calm and the eczema redness disappeared after 15 minutes. However, there was no difference to my skin with the second eye serum mask although it left my undereye areas refreshed like a mini-spa session.

Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Brightening ) is a new generation of eye masks enriched with Orange Extracts and hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum. It brightens dark circles and reduces eye bags, revealing awake, fresh and brighter looking eyes. 

How To Use : 

1) Apply on clean face with white protective film facing outwards. 

2) Remove the protective film, adjust the mask to cover full eye contour. 

3) Leave for 15 minutes. 

4) Remove mask, gently massage any excess serum or use a cotton pad to remove.

Tip : For more cooling effect, keep in fridge 

Similarly to Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing ), Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Brightening ) is also made in China, with a thin material shaped like a long crescent moon for the undereye area. 

It is wet with a hint of alcohol scent although its not listed in the ingredient list. The eye mask layers moderately well on the skin with a cooling and refreshing sensation, however, there was a subtle taut sensation immediately after removing the mask. 

Adding on, the longish shape doesn't really suit the undereye area as the eye mask edges ended up more to the face edge. A crescent moon shape is much preferred so that it can cover the crow feet area for a masking delight. 

Unfortunately, even after using 2 eye serum masks over 2 consecutive days, they did not yield much positive results. There were no differences before or after masking. This was a disappointment considering its not cheap as compared to other eye masks in the market.

Conclusion

To conclude, I preferred Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Lines-Smoothing ) over Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Serum Mask ( Brightening ) as its more comfortable and provided a rested and refreshing experience after the eye masking session. 

I wouldn't repurchase both of them though. My search for the perfect eye mask continues.

I received Inward Agas Acue Herbal Mask after applying for a campaign on 0.8liter as I was keen in trying more rinse-off masks. 

Hailing from Korea, products from Inward combine traditional Korean herbal with modern high-function cosmetics science. You can read more about its brand story on their website. 

Agas Acue Herbal Mask is an abbreviation for "Agastache Rugosa ( Korean Mint ) ACne Cure. 

According to 0.8 liter, 10 000 tubs of Inward Agas Acue Herbal Mask were sold in 3 months and it is said to be more popular than sheet masks in Korea as the product contains 4 multi-functional effects namely Acne Trouble Care, Skin Cooling, Skin Moisturization and Skin Tone-Up. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture 

Inward Agas Acue Herbal Mask is housed in a 100ml plastic tub with a free spatula included. It has a earthy green tea scent which reminded me vaguely of I'm From Vitamin Tree Mask although both textures were widely different like chalk and cheese.

I purchased Son & Park Beauty Water from Korea and took a while to use it up. At 340ml, it lasts a long time and is reasonable for the price paid. 

This multi-tasking toner and cleansing water has quickly become a cult favorite in the beauty world which caught my attention and off it goes, into my basket. 

Hailing from Korea, Son & Park is founded by celebrity makeup artists Son Dae Sik and Park Tae Yun in a bid to create korean look of glowing, dewy skin where natural makeup has become a global trend. The product line focuses on enhancing the complexion for youthful radiance and luminous finish.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Son & Park Beauty Water comes in a white minimalistic plastic bottle with a black cap that exudes chic on all fronts. Clear in colour, it has a light floral scent with a lightweight texture. 

How To Use :

Moisten a cotton pad and gently sweep across the face.

Beauty Water is ideal for:

- When you want to cleanse your face during a long flight

- As a toner before application of the rest of your skin care products

- When wiping off residue after the use of a sheet mask or massage cream

- As a way to freshen up your face during the day

Performance and Ingredients

Son & Park Beauty Water is a versatile product. It acts as a cleansing water, toner and exfoliator on top of its skin-loving ingredients that gently brighten the skin too.

The Beauty Water mildly exfoliates with papaya extract to help sweep away dead skin cells, and with witch hazel water's calming benefit, it helps to reveal brighter skin tone and smoother texture. Lavender water, rose water, and orange fruit extract impart a subtle hydration so your skin can be prepped to absorb the next skin care steps, while adding in a bit of moisture.

I love its multipurpose usage and appreciate how useful it would be, during travels.

How I usually use the product :

1) As a toner ( with hands or cotton pads ) to swipe excess dirt off the skin before serum and moisturiser.

- Using the beauty water on cotton pads or patting into the skin directly makes my skin so soft and smooth after every use. That said, it can occasionally irritate the skin, leaving redness around the nose and chin with slight stinging effect, while using with cotton pads. 

2) As a mist toner to prep skin before serum and moisturiser. 

- As a mist toner, the effects weren't that pronounced but I still appreciate how refreshing, lightweight, cooling and gentle it is. 

3) As a refresher during mid day where I mist on the face and dab with tissue to soak up the oil from my combination skin and reapply my sunscreen. 

- I use this method with most toners. 

4) As a cleansing water ( with cotton pads ) to cleanse the remnants from my masking session such as I'm From Vitamin Tree Mask and Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask.

- I need to use the Beauty Water a couple of times in order to clear all the mask remnants on face, but truth to be told, I don't really fancy using an exfoliating product on the skin so many times within 10 minutes. 

- I appreciate it keeping my skin clean and clear but its not for the long term.

Conclusion

To conclude, Son & Park Beauty Water worked great as a a cleansing water ( to clear mask remnants ), toner and exfoliator for smoother and softer skin. You also get to save money since its a multipurpose product. However, its not a repurchase for me, as I have many products which worked better on its own. 

Other alternatives like a cleansing water would be Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Soution, toner would be Skylake Oriental Herb Relax Toner and exfoliating toner would be Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner.

Son & Park Beauty Water is not bad but not WOW for me.

Its been 5 years since I last reviewed any nail polishes as I have been using the old ones but when most of them dried up, it was time for me to look out for new ones to add to my humble collection. 

Withshyan caught my eye because it was made in Korea and selling at a reasonable price without the nasties. You can check out their products on Withshyan. In Singapore, I purchased them from Hebeloft. 

I love shimmers and glitters in my nail polishes so I chose the above 2 colours from their Diamonds series - D02 Kiera and D04 Belina.

The diamond series have glitters because they contain diamond pearls of various sizes and shapes.

Both Withshyan D02 Kiera and D04 Belina Nail Polish dry in 60 seconds so that you have more time for other things in life. Withshyan uses a self-developed formula to dry quickly and minimizes the inconvenience of using nail polish in a rush. 

Unfortunately, the application for both nail polishes differ drastically like chalk and cheese. Kiera has 

a thick and almost "lumpy" texture so it does not apply easily while Belina has a runnier and more fluid texture which makes it slightly easier to apply than Kiera. 

How To Apply :

1) Apply base coat

2) Apply color, in one smooth motion, move the brush across the center of the nail, from cuticle to tip. Then, swipe it along the left and right side. 

3) Apply one or two more coats to even it out and increase the richness of the color.

4) Apply top coat for more glossy finish.   

How To Remove :

1) Soak some polish remover with cotton pad

2) Wrap around your nails for about 1 to 2 mins
