I purchased Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum, together with Hyggee Vegan Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++, Herbloom Calming Days Vegan Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ and more. 

I am always obsessed with buying sunscreens which is not a good sign, but emptied every one of them, so I didn't waste it at all. If it doesn't work for your face, just slather on your body. Everyone can make an effort to use up their products. By using up products completely, we are reducing waste and making the most of the resources and packaging. This aligns with the idea of conscious consumption and minimizing environmental impact. 

[ Review ] Heimish Marine Care Retinol For Face Serum

 

Product Description

Suitable for retinol beginners, Heimish Marine Care Retinol For Face Serum contains low retinol content (0.01%) for mild retinol care. Retinol fades wrinkles, increases skin elasticity and improves the appearance of pores. The serum is also enriched with 5% niacinamide to brighten skin. It’s formulated with 58% marine water and fermented seaweed extract for moisturizing effects.

I received Heimish Marine Care Retinol For Face Serum from one of Stylekorean birthday boxes and has been using it for twice a week at night. 

My recent Heimish empties were Heimish Matcha Biome Hydrogel Eye Patch, Heimish Matcha Biome Redness Relief Hydrating Toner and Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Heimish Marine Care Retinol For Face Serum comes in a 50ml pump dispenser container with a lovely shimmery green colour. The yellow texture looks heavy in consistency and vaguely reminded me of By Wishtrend Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream. I didn't detect any fragrance.

How To Use :

1) After toning, apply a grain-sized amount on the concerned areas with wrinkles.

2) Depending on your skin condition, apply a pea-sized amount on your entire face.

3) If applied in the morning, apply sufficient sunscreen afterwards.

Performance and Ingredients

Said to be a gentle product with retinol content suitable for beginners, and is suitable for day and night use, it is marketed as a watery finishing with no greasiness and no stickiness, however I found this product to be heavy and greasy yet slightly drying on my combination skin in humid weather. A hydrating moisturizer is highly recommended. 

I didn't experience irritation but haven't use this enough to notice any difference on the face. I prefer to use this at night due to the retinol. And because of the greasiness and heaviness yet drying effects, I don't reach out for this product as often as I should, but instead, I use it for the decollete area to improve elasticity.

The key ingredients are....

Miracle Marine Water 58% : fermented seaweed extract which increase hydration to plump the skin and minimize dryness

Niacinamide 5% : intensive brightening care for skin as it reduces the amount of pigment in the skin by decreasing melanin production

Retinol 0.01% : visibly improving the appearance of wrinkles and enlarged pores

Conclusion

To conclude, Heimish Marine Care Retinol For Face Serum isn't the perfect fit for my combination skin in humid weather as it felt heavy and looked greasy on my face yet drying so I prefer to use it on the decollete area for elasticity.

Some of the retinol products that I have tried were Somethinc 1% Pure Retinol + Squalane, Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 10 and Allies of Skin Retinal & Peptides Repair Night Cream.

I chanced upon Caudalie VinoHydra Moisturizing Mask on sale in Sephora and couldn't resist adding to my cart. I have been opting for rinse-off masks for the past 2 years due to sustainability reasons, and my last few masks were Evolve Bio Retinol Gold Mask, Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilence Soothing Face Mask and 100% Pure Cocoa Butter Moisture Mask which worked out great.

Caudalie VinoHydra Moisturizing Mask is a 75ml size, housed in a pretty pink tube and a pinewood cap. It has a subtle sweet fruity fragrance and a creamy texture which I adored.

I received Mixsoon Bean Eye Cream as part of a Stylekorean birthday collaboration with no obligation to review it, however I am always interested in trying out new brands and Mixsoon caught my eye as their products have been gaining traction on social media.

Aiming for optimal results, mixsoon carefully selects its ingredients to include only the essentials. The brand later reached out to me, upon reading my Instagram empties post that the body washes were drying for me and offered to send their Tacet Hair and Body Wash meant for sensitive skin.

Pine & Co Body Wash is free from paraben, silicone, alcohol, triclosan, and colourant. 

All ingredients including surfactants used are 100% plant-based, gentler, and safer alternatives.

Tacet Hair & Body Wash is a tear-free prebiotic formulation that is vitamin-rich, unscented and free from fragrance, paraben, silicone, alcohol, phenoxyethanol and triclosan.

Both types come in a 500ml clear soft plastic bottle with a pump dispenser which appeared to be the same for the 4 different variants I purchased as well as the gifted unscented version. 

Pine & Co Summer Body Wash, Pine & Co Autumn Body Wash and Pine & Co Spring Body Wash are from their Season body wash collection, and infused with black oats, olive extract, and soothing chamomile. Pine & Co Elizabeth Body Wash is from the Idylls body wash collection and infused with black oats, olive extract, soothing chamomile, pomegranate extract and lactic acid. 

The Summer Body Wash has a sweet, zesty and soothing fragrance, with a gel texture and the aroma is composed from a delightful fusion of sweet mandarin oranges and vibrant citrus flowers which breathes new life into your shower routine, while the calming essence of chamomile and nourishing touch of olive extract gently soothe your skin.

The Autumn Body Wash has a warm, woody and gentle aroma infused with Sandalwood and Cedar. It has a subtle powdery fragrance which isn't something I like. 

The Spring Body Wash has a Bergamot, Lotus, Lily and Patchouli subtle aroma which I enjoyed using every morning, for a calming perk-me-up. 

Elizabeth Body Wash has a refreshing Jasmine and Vanilla scent which I enjoyed using at the end of a work day, to lather all the worries away. 

Tacet Hair & Body Wash is unscented and has no fragrance as it is created for children and individuals with troubled skin. 

How To Use :

Rinse your body before lathering and wash off while avoiding unnecessary scrubbing. 

Performance and Ingredients

Pine & Co Body Wash is said to protect you from harmful germs while providing best hydration and nourishment benefits to your skin as it uses effective plant-based and non-toxic antibacterial ingredients that does not damage your skin.

With a gel texture, Pine & Co Summer Body Wash lathered well but was slightly drying since Day 1, so it isn't the perfect fit for me. Similarly, Pine & Co Autumn, Spring Body Wash and Elizabeth Body Wash were also drying since Day 1. 

The fragrance is pretty high up in the ingredient list so take note if you are sensitive to fragrance. 

Tacet Hair & Body Wash contains Portulaca Oleracea extract, Olive extract and Chamomile extract and is not drying on my skin which is much appreciated.

Conclusion

To conclude, Pine & Co Summer Body Wash has a sweet, zesty and soothing fragrance, with a gel texture that lathers well but has been drying since Day 1. The Autumn Body Wash has a powdery fragrance which I do not like, however I enjoyed using Spring Body Wash for its gentle and uplifting fragrance and Elizabeth Body Wash for its refreshing fragrance. They had a similar gel texture that lathers well but are also drying since the day I started using it. 

Tacet Hair & Body Wash is unscented and has no fragrance with a similar gel texture that lathers well like the regular ones but is never drying.
