[ Review ] Sulmae Maskbook Sticker Mask Sheet ( Cherry Blossom, Watermelon, Strawberry, Aloe, Rose )

 

I first came across Sulmae Maskbook Sticker Mask Sheet in a closing down sale in one of the shops in Bugis Junction. They looked so pretty so I was tempted to get them, despite being on a no-buy single-use sheet mask mission last year. 

This was my last set of sheet masks purchase as I wanted to focus more on rinse-off masks to be more eco-friendly. But fret not, this won't be my last facial mask review post yet, as I still have more to deplete in my stash, which probably can last till end of the year. 

The range consists of 20 different variants but there were only 5 variants in the store so I purchased all of them. 

Hailing from Korea, Sulmae started back in 2017 with these pretty innovative sheet masks that act like pretty stickers on the face. You can check out the history of the brand on their website. 

Sulmae Cherry Blossom Maskbook Sticker Mask Sheet uses lovely cherry blossom extracts and mild vegetable essence to soothe skin by restoring moisture. 

In the package, there was a plastic sheet with 12 sweet and pretty flower petals stuck on them. Just peel them one by one and layer it on the face.

How Blue Light Can Affect Our Skin

 

With more screen time spent during the pandemic, it has become more than important to protect our skin from blue light emitted from computer monitors and phones. 

Most people are aware of how blue light might affect our eyes such as blurry vision and dry eyes, to headaches and neck pain so blue light blocking glasses are recommended to ease our digital eye strain, according to the American Optometric Association.

As screen time continues to rise, experts are now becoming concerned about the effects of blue light on skin, and whether our screens can damage our entire faces, not just our eyes.

All visible light we humans see contains the entire spectrum of the rainbow, from red to violet. Within that spectrum are blue light waves, which are said to help us stay alert and upbeat.

Any source of visible light gives off blue light waves, whether it's the sun, a touchscreen or a light bulb.

We get plenty of blue light waves each day from the sun, but after dark we're still exposed to it from many artificial sources.

I redeemed a 8ml sample with my Sephora points last year as water based creams are a favourite of mine. I have previously emptied Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist and Spotlight Brightening Mask from the Saturday Skin Holiday Dew set back in 2020 with the brightening mask being my Top 25 Beauty Empties I Loved in 2020!

Packaging, Scent and Texture

The full size of Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream is 50ml while the travel size I owned was 8ml which lasted for more than a week with twice a day usage. Light pink in colour, it has a refreshing gel texture with no scent.

How To Use :

1) Place moisturizer into the palm of your hand.

2) Using all four fingers, apply in an outward circular motion tapping the moisturizer into skin.

Performance and Ingredients

Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream is cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan friendly and does not contain artificial colors and fragrance.

As a fan of water creams, this didn't disappoint, with its refreshing gel texture and a burst of hydration

that is much welcomed in humid Singapore.

While the Waterfall Glacier Water Cream worked moderately well on optimal skin days, I wouldn't reach out for it, if I am battling with dehydration. It is a decent moisturiser for soft, smooth and hydrated skin. 

Adding on, due to the gel texture, it is best paired with a lightweight toner prior to application, to avoid tackiness and shine on skin.

Conclusion 

To conclude, Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream is a decent moisturiser for softer, smooth and hydrated skin, however, it may not be the best fit for those battling with dehydration.

If you are a fan of water creams, then I highly recommend Krave Beauty Oat So Simple Water Cream.

I was elated to redeem a 5ml sample size of Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream with my Sephora points last year as I have been eyeing it for awhile. Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser was the only DE product I have tried so far.

The 5ml sample size comes in a cute tub with a subtle sweet scent that probably stems from its ingredients. It has a soft whipped airy buttery texture with a velvety consistency.
