[ Review ] : Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist + Spotlight Brightening Mask

I purchased Saturday Skin Holiday Dew set from Sephora some time back, which comes with a 130ml Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist and 1 x Spotlight Brightening Mask - both of which are products I have been meaning to try.

The branding for Saturday Skin is so on-point from their colour, cool packaging to their core message that they are bringing across - fun, effective and feminine.

"We live for Saturdays. Sleeping in, staying up. Daydreaming and adventure-seeking. All play, no work. We believe your skin should feel as good as you do when you wake up refreshed: happy, healthy and bright. Developed to reveal your clearest, dewiest complexion, Saturday Skin is a weekend in a bottle."

Made in Korea and developed by scientists at Chaum, an iconic wellness center in Seoul known for it’s effective and innovative skin-care treatments, Saturday Skin's key secret is the Cha-7 es complex™, an exclusive peptide formula that promotes skin’s natural renewal process.

Rooted in science and derived from natural ingredients, the cutting-edge complex increases skin activity while reducing the look of excess melanin production which results in hyperpigmentation for a flawless, stress-free complexion. The complete collection helps hit pause on the look of lackluster skin so you can embrace your bare beauty.

Free of added color and fragrance, the no-fuss, effortless regimen balances and revitalizes all skin types, leaving you free to soak up your Saturdays and keep on glowing all week long.

Product Description
This refreshing and hydrating face mist is a toner and essence in one. Formulated with concentrated kiwi and grape extracts for instant vitality, Its anti-oxidant formula helps block free radicals, and delivers moisture and nourishment over and under makeup.

Dermatologist-tested, Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist does not contain parabens, sulfates, artificial color, artificial fragrance and is cruelty-free. It is housed in a lovely pink bottle with 130ml contents. I can't deny that it looks so pretty on the dressing table and is so instagrammable.

A strong alcohol scent is apparent the moment the mist came out from the bottle and probably due to that, it evaporates pretty fast on the skin too. The fine mist works well without drenching the face with splotches of water.

I usually use Saturday Skin Daily Dew Hydrating Essence Mist inbetween my skincare routine, like a toner and mist again after serum, prior to moisturiser application.

I also tried using it as a lotion mask but it made my skin spotchy red after the application. What I did, is to mist on cotton pads and layered on my skin in 5 areas - both cheeks, nose, chin and forehead but all 5 areas were red thereafter. Thankfully, the red patches subsided after a short while.

I can't say that I really like the mist because I dislike the alcohol scent ( and how high the concentration is, being the 3rd ingredient on the list ) and I don't see it making much difference to my skin. Its not particularly hydrating especially when it evaporates so fast and I found myself to be misting more than the usual. It is an average refreshing facial mist for me, however, its pretty refreshing on a hot and humid day.

In terms of ingredients, the Essence Mist contains concentrated extracts of kiwi and grape to nourish skin in a veil of moisture, while Cha-7 ES Complex™, an exclusive peptide formula, supports the skin's natural regeneration process. Rooted in science and derived from natural ingredients, the complex supports collagen and elasticity while reducing the appearance of melanin for a flawless-looking complexion. The formula also contains antioxidants to help block free radicals for visible vitality.

Review of Saturday Skin Spotlight Brightening Mask
Product Description
Spotlight Brightening Mask is made with a soft and cooling biocellulose sheet that conforms to the contours of your face comfortably, allowing optimal absorption. Bilberry, liquorice and lotus extracts help diminish dark spots to uncover natural radiance, leaving your skin refreshed and glowing.

Texture of Saturday Skin Spotlight Brightening Mask

Saturday Skin Spotlight Brightening Mask is enveloped within 2 mesh layers, peel them off to reveal a biocellulose sheet that is soft and glooey. There is no dripping mess and the scent dissipates after a short while.

The cutting fits well on my cherubic face shape, with some cuts along the edges for a smoother fit. I love how comfortable, soothing and refreshing the mask sheet is.

After a 25 minute masking session, my skin is literally clear, fresh and glowing. The remaining essence was absorbed fully into the skin, without any stickiness, unlike most of the masks in the market and you can feel that your skin is becoming softer, smoother and redness minimized.

In terms of ingredients, Saccharomyces Ferment is the key ingredient in the mask, with the highest concentration, which contains nutrients such as amino acids, vitamins, minerals, sugars, that will help to properly nourish skin and its growth as well as preventing depletion of anti-oxidants in the skin.

Loving this mask so much! You would also be glad to know that the mask is dermatologist tested, vegan and does not contain parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance or synthetic color. It is also one of the top 15 brightening masks recommended by dermatologists in Women Health Magazine.

Quick go grab one and let me know how it works for you! This is also one of my Top 25 beauty Empties I Loved in 2020!
