[ Review ] Pai Skincare Light Work Rosehip Fruit Extract Cleansing Oil

Korean women use the double cleanse method to keep their skin clear. It entails washing your face twice, first with an oil-based cleanser and then with a water-based cleanser. The first step removes oil-based impurities such as sebum, sunblock, and pollutants, while the second removes water-based debris such as sweat and dirt so lets delve into Pai Skincare Light Work Rosehip Fruit Extract Cleansing Oil. 

Formulated using Rosehip Fruit Extract, the cleanser leaves your skin with a radiant, natural-looking glow. It’s full of nourishing Omegas 3, 6 and 9, which come together to support normal repair cycles while Carotenoids offer protection against external damage with their antioxidant properties.

It has been 7 years since I last tried Pai Skincare. You can read my past reviews on Pai Skincare Camellia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, Pai Skincare Lotus and Orange Blossom BioAffinity Skin Tonic and Pai Skincare Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream which didn't wow me, until Pai Skincare Light Work Rosehip Fruit Extract Cleansing Oil comes along. The brand is cruelty-free and vegan. 

I purchased Naturisimo Glow Starter Kit which comes with Pai Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil at 28ml, together with other products. 

Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream

Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream is formulated to soothe and maintain extremely sensitive skin using only the cleanest natural ingredients. Formulated to quickly calm flare-ups of visible redness and irritation. Packed full of antioxidants and Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, this light silky cream leaves skin hydrated and looking beautifully healthy.

Superior CO2 extracts of German Chamomile and Rosehip deliver the plants' calming and restorative properties in their most concentrated and 'complete' form.

As the last remaining product in the travel pack, Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream is the final step to seal in all the goodness. Pai Skincare products do not include artificial fragrances, alcohol ( denat ), parabens ( including japanese honeysuckle ), phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, formaldehyde ( including sodium hydroxymethylglychinate ), sodium lauryl sulfate or other irritants.

The day cream is dispensed from a nozzle which works perfectly well, to dispense it in small amounts that are just right for the face. White in colour, Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream has a buttery smooth texture and applies well on skin. It is neither greasy nor too heavy for the skin. I usually used it directly after misting my face with the Lotus and Orange Blossom BioAffinity Tonic.

It is slightly emollient and hydrates the rough and dehydrated areas lightly. On red and irritated skin, it helps to minimize the redness which disappears after a short while.

That said, I am not a fan of cream based products as I usually prefer gel texture. Hence, with this day cream, I will prefer to use it directly after the Lotus and Orange Blossom BioAffinity Tonic, which meant on damp skin.

I have purchased the Instant Calm Collection Set from Lovelula previously, which was an excellent way for me to try the highly raved brand. It contains a 25ml cleanser, 12ml tonic toner and a 10ml day cream.

I started off with using the cleanser for the initial several days before moving on to the tonic and day cream.

Recommended for sensitive, dry and mature skin, the lotus and orange blossom bioaffinity skin tonic comes in a portable spritz plastic bottle that dispenses the tonic in bursts which requires some hands-on work for me to spread the tonic thinly on my skin, before the application of the day cream.

The scent wasn't as awesome as I expected it to be. It isn't overpowering, just not a scent which I would prefer. Thankfully, the scent was pretty light and is hardly discerning.

Whenever I mist my face after cleansing, it calms and refreshes my skin. Even though the direction is to let it dry naturally, I never feel the urge to do so, as I feel that it will dry out my skin with the evaporation in the air. Instead, I just spread the tonic thinly on my skin, pat gently for blood circulation, before applying Pai Skincare Chamomile and Rosehip Day Cream.

The tonic experience made my skin feel slightly hydrated, calm and nourished but is not a wow factor for me to stock up on the full retail size. I would prefer it to be a fine mist ( perhaps the nozzle on the retail size bottle may be better equipped ) so that I can feel the full effects of the whole tonic experience.

Pai Skincare Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

After hearing so much about Pai Skincare, I was elated to lay my hands on Pai Skincare Instant Calm Kit. I started off with using the 25ml sized cleanser, which I usually use it in the morning. The organic cleanser is detergent-free ( Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Decyl Glucoside ) and does not contain synthetic chemicals, alcohol ( ehtyl alcohols and alcohol denat ) or beeswax.

White with a souffle-like creamy texture, I fell in love with the hydrating cleanser upon my first contact with it. It certainly feels good, gentle, comforting and slightly hydrating, plus the calming yet uplifting rose scent is another bonus point. It is recommended to use on dry skin, followed by a warm muslin cloth to cleanse and exfoliate the face.

Pai Skincare Camellia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser does not foam but glides on the skin easily without any greasy after-feel or tight feeling. I didn't use the muslin cloth that comes with it because it looks like it may be too abrasive for my sensitive skin, hence I skip that.

Although it claims to be able to remove make-up and eye make-up, it feels too mild to be effective so I never attempt to use it as a make-up remover.

In terms of its calming effectiveness, I did try it on irritated and itchy skin. I can't say it soothe my redness immediately but my redness and itchiness were minimized and gradually disappeared after 3 days. It could be because my skin has calmed down after awhile or that the cleanser really did help in speeding up the recovery process.

That said, as much as I fell in love at first sight with the product, but subsequent usage does not impress me further. It was mild and gentle, too gentle for my likes, as time goes. Hence, the initial thoughts of running to get the full retail size have started to diminish with time.
