Review : One Love Organics Skin Savior

Product Description
A multi-talented, 100 percent natural with organic ingredients, multi-purpose balm that cleans, moisturizes and conditions the skin.
Pure, cold-pressed plant oils, rich mango butter, and three super-critical extracts break down dirt and makeup, cleansing your skin, without stripping its natural protective layer. And you can use the very same balm for moisturizing, illuminizing, hair taming and creating your own custom treatment foundation

The last product from the trial pack is a tiny size but packs a punch and it seems to last forever, because you only need a tiny amount of the balm for the whole face, else you may risk looking like an oily pan.

A multi-purpose product, it can be used as a cleanser, hair tamer, illuminizer, make up remover, moisturizer, pomade, primer for mineral powder and as skin soother. I have tried using it as a make-up remover on its own ( without their Skin Shammy, a microfiber cloth ) but I didn't like it one bit. Its too waxy, clumpy yet stiff to cleanse off my make-up and it leaves a residue on the skin which I dislike.

As a moisturizer, I prefer to layer it after its oil-based serum, Love Springs Eternal or Morning Glory as it provides a good base for the Skin Savior to glide on. Without the facial oils, the Skin Savior on its own, does not get absorbed into the skin that easily.

I love the scent and also how well it glides on the skin easily, giving it ample moisture and making my skin smooth and supple. Dabbing on dehydrated areas on my face is great too.
Apply with a light hand as you may look shiny with the oil-based serum and this waxy balm. Sometimes I use a tissue to just dab gently all over my face to reduce the shine.

Their essential sample pack is a great way for those wanting to get a feel of their products first, before investing in the full size. Check it out here.
Previously, I ordered it via a friend who was travelling to the States for a business trip but if you are residing in Singapore, you can get their products from Lovelula and Naturisimo but the range is limited and you can't get the sample pack from both sites.

Review : One Love Organics Love Springs Eternal

Product Description
An anti-aging serum unlike any other, this miraculous serum boasts some of Mother Earth’s most effective gifts: watermelon seed oil to smooth, dissolve build-up and provide a rich composition of essential fatty acids, Bulgarian Rose Oil to tone and moisturize, and clinically proven D’Orientine S  to help protect skin from environmental sources of aging and wrinkling.

This anti-aging serum is pretty rich so I prefer to use it in the night, followed by OLO Skin Savior. I really like the scent which smells divine. Note that you need some time for the serum to get absorbed into the skin and you will reap the benefits like I did.
After application in the night, my skin usually feels hydrated and looks smooth and glowing the following morning. After a month of usage, I do feel that my skin looks more even-toned.

But the shiny look is something I dislike and I have tried with a light hand but on my combination skin, it still looks slightly greasy. At times, there were tiny bumps on the skin and when I overdose on it, I get zits on my chin. Just need to remember that a little goes a long way.

What is great is that this serum does not contain Petrochemicals, Parabens, Sodium lauryl sulphate, Harsh surfactants, Chemical additives, Preservatives, Synthetics dyes, Synthetic fragrances, Phthalates, Silicones, Synthetic vitamin E and Propylene glycol.

Ingredients :
citrullus vulgaris (watermelon) seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride (and) phoenix dactylifera (date) seed extract, organic rosa damascena (rose) oil, citrus aurantium (neroli) oil, organic boswellia carteri (frankincense) oil, organic cymbopogon martini (palmarosa) Oil, tocopherol (natural vitamin e)

Review : One Love Organics Morning Glory

Product Description
Be it morning, midday, or date night, this luscious lightweight serum will wake up your skin’s natural radiance.
Raspberry Leaf—a rich source of polypeptides, flavonoids, tannins and niacin—works to stimulate, tighten and tone. Peppermint and lemon balm deliver a refreshing zing of anti-inflammatory antioxidants to help brighten, enliven and de-puff. And vegan-sourced Omega 3 fatty acids smooth the appearance of fine lines and help shield skin from everyday environmental damage. Just a little Morning Glory and your complexion will be coming up rosy.

This brightening serum is part of a trial kit which I purchased last year where I have previously reviewed its cleanser and exfoliant. Every morning, I use this serum in conjunction with its moisturizer, Skin Saviour Waterless Balm which I will review at a later date, once I used it all up. I love the scent of this product as it smells really uplifting and lovely.

Lilac green in colour, this oil-based serum needs a light hand on combination skin like mine, as it shines after application. However, the skin feels luxuriously pampered with a smooth soft touch. It glides on smoothly onto the skin and when I use it together with its Skin Saviour Waterless Balm, it makes an excellent base for make-up application as well as to hydrate the skin.

It perks up my skin and gives it a little boost to tired skin though I dislike the shiny look which I need to dab with a tissue paper. My skin has several tiny bumps on the skin which tend to spring out whenever I experiment with oils. Its such a pity because I like their wholesome ingredients.

The product contains peppermint oil as a natural sunscreen to protect against sun-induced pigmentation and you will be pleased to know that this product does not contain Petrochemicals, Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Harsh Surfactants, Chemical Additives, Preservatives, Synthetic Dyes and Fragrances, Phthalates, Silicones, Synthetic Vitamin E Or Propylene Glycol.
Ingredients :

Review : One Love Organics Brand New Day

Product Description
Brand New Day lets your skin start fresh every morning. Soothing organic sweet pea flour and fresh pineapple enzymes polish off dead skin cells while helping to protect the new ones. Brand New Day is an exfoliation treat that’s gentle enough for every day, every skin type and every inch of your bod. Tomorrow never looked so good.

FOR A SCRUB:
Mix 1/2–1 teaspoon of Brand New Day with warm water to form a creamy paste. Massage onto damp face and throat using gentle, circular motions. Remove with warm water.
FOR A MASQUE:
In your hand or a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of Brand New Day with 2 teaspoons of water for a luxurious, tightening masque. For an extra treat, mix with 2 teaspoons of plain Greek yogurt for a clarifying masque OR fresh, raw honey for a hydrating masque. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Remove with warm water.

Prior to using this, Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant has been my regular facial scrub. Brand New Day is something similar to that, as both use powder to exfoliate the skin. As my age creeps up, Daily Microfoliant proved to be a tad too drying and I turned my attention to this little 4ml pot which was part of a trial kit I purchased from The States.

Brand New Day can be used as either a scrub or as a mask, but I tend to use it as a scrub because its just so convenient. Even though its recommended to use warm water to form a creamy paste but based on my own experience, cold water works as well.

Once the water touches the powder, it turns into a thin milky white paste that works as an exfoliant for the face. Sometimes it makes my skin just a little drying although it did not happen that frequently. The scrub left my skin feeling fresh, clean and smooth. Blackheads were minimized and the pores on my nose were cleaner for up to 3 days.

Ingredients :
Organic Zea Mays (Corn) Starch,Organic Pisum Sativum (Sweet Pea) Flour, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Organic Ananas Comosus (pineapple) fruit extract, Sodium Myristoyl Glutamate, proprietary natural and organic fragrance compounds

Review : One Love Easy Does It Cleanser

Product Description
It turns out a little cleansing goes a lot farther than you think. Often times, our best efforts at clear pores clear out our skin’s natural defenses, too. With a unique combination of organic Chilean soap bark, cold-pressed apple oil and vegetable glycerin, Easy Does It lathers into a soothing, non-drying foam that cleans, softens and helps to protect face, body and hair.

When I first came across the brand online, I was immediately drawn to its simple, chic and feminine packaging. After I found out that One Love Organics specializes in 100% pure, waterless and preservative-free organic skin care products, it prompted me to order the trial kit via a colleague who was travelling to the States on a business trip.

This multi-purpose cleanser claimed to be gentle enough for sensitive skin yet powerful enough for oily skin and can be used for the face and body as well. Sounds intriguing?
The cleanser in the trial kit is packaged in a cute tiny bottle that is good enough for a week's usage as a little goes a long way due to its foaming texture.

As mentioned before, my skin does not take well to most types of foaming cleansers but since this product claimed to be gentle enough, I took a gamble and tried it for 5 days. The runny texture foams slightly with light suds and was alittle drying during my first usage and pose no problems during subsequent usage but the broken capillaries on the wings of my nose were redder than normal, which isn't such a good sign.
From the first day of usage, my skin turns softer and smoother, clean and fresh. I like the hint of natural citrus scent too. I just wish the foaming suds can be removed, to reduce the drying effect, if any.

I stopped using it for the face and change it for the body instead. It is a mild "shower gel" for the body, without much suds but with a slight hint of dryness though.
