Lierac Double Cleansing Balm in Oil Review

Product Description
Lierac Double Cleansing Balm-in-Oil is a new generation double cleanser that helps to remove impurities at all levels: it cleanses on the surface to remove the impurities that accumulate throughout the day, including all signs of pollution, and uses an innovative method based on ionic cabinet cleansing that acts like a magnet to deeply cleanse the skin.

This double cleanser action removes all makeup, pollution, dead cells, sebum and sweat that usually lead to the formation of free radicals, which in turn are responsible for making the skin dull and wrinkled. This balm turns into a nourishing cleansing oil when it’s applied to the skin and, after being emulsified with water, it is easily removed from the skin. With emollient camellia oil, it’s suitable for dry skin.

Benefits :
- Double cleansing action based on ionic cleansing: the ingredients act like a magnet in order to remove impurities on a deeper level;
- Anti-pollution action;
- Balm texture that turns into oil when in contact with the skin and then into a milky liquid when in contact with water;
- Suitable for dry skin;
- Non-comedogenic formula;
- Tested under dermatological control.

It had been a decade since I last used products from Lierac and I purchased this balm in oil in Robinsons when my makeup removers were depleting. Unfortunately, it stung pretty badly on my skin and I just couldn't use it after the 4th time.

Made in France, Doctor Cariel, a specialist in aesthetic medicine created Lierac in 1975 with a revolutionary approach: offer real “beauty medicine” to provide women with a targeted and effective solution to the physiological concerns that they experience throughout their lives.

Performance and Ingredients

Lierac Double Cleansing Balm in Oil is a 2-in-1 product that removes makeup from the face, as an anti-pollution make-up removal and cleanses the face by smoothing the skin. Its formula contains several active ingredients: a micro-magnet cleanser, an enzymatic micro-exfoliator and an anti-aging hyaluronic acid.

It boasts a unique balm-to-oil texture that transforms upon application. Initially, it feels like a rich balm, but as you massage it into your skin, it melts into a silky oil. This transformation ensures that the cleanser effortlessly dissolves makeup, sunscreen, and daily grime.

Unfortunately, this cleansing balm is extremely oily, so much so that my eyes stung badly with blurry vision. The oiliest cleansing balm I have ever tried. I tried to avoid the eyes area but it is difficult, with its oily consistency that glides into the eyes during rinsing.

I persisted in using the balm since I am never one to give up on my skincare products. I tried to rinse off my face makeup area by area with the cleansing balm to avoid it going into my eyes, before following up with my regular cleanser. It didn't get into my eyes but it stung my face. Ouch. After rinsing off, it left a layer of oily film on the skin which I disliked as it felt unclean.

On my 3rd use, it burns on the pigmentation area on my cheeks. Ouch Ouch! Highly recommended not to use on sensitive skin days.

I returned to using it after a 1 week break from the product where it no longer burn the skin but it still stung the eyes making it uncomfortable, as I desperately tried to rinse it off my eyes.

Finally, I decided to give up using this product as it is not worth the additional time and effort.

Conclusion

To conclude, Lierac Double Cleansing Balm in Oil isn't the best fit for my skin type, as it was oilier than expected, stung my face and eyes and left a layer of oily film on skin.
