Product Description
Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is great for exfoliating, softening and freshening up your skin in a natural way. Its fine texture gently exfoliates your skin without drying out the skin like salt scrubs or has adverse impact like beaded scrubs. It does not leave any harmful residue on your skin to clog the pores. It is safe to use them even on sensitive skin, face or body.
I received Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish from a Wishtrend collaboration last year. My last facial scrub was Ole Henriksen Lemonade Smoothing Scrub which was slightly abrasive while 100% Pure Strawberry Lemonade Jelly Scrub was too runny for my likes.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is housed in a 110g tub with an enclosed clear plastic spatula. It has a delicious brown sugar-like scent with a thick creamy textured scrub.
How To Use :
1) After cleansing, mix an adequate amount of polish with 2-3 drops of water.
2) Using circular motions, gently massage scrub onto skin or chapped lips.
3) Rinse thoroughly with warm water and apply a toner and moisturizer.
Tips :
- For a refreshing finish, dual-cleanse with the foam cleanser.
- Mix the Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish with the cleansing oil to gently remove makeup, blackheads and oil.
Performance and Ingredients
Cruelty-free and formulated without alcohol, silicones or pigments, Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish is a sugar-based facial scrub which contains black sugar, shea butter and cranberry oil to gently exfoliate without stripping it of moisture or irritating sensitive skin. Vegan-friendly formulation helps remove blackheads and whiteheads on skin to brighten and prevent excess sebum build-up.
Black Sugar melts away pore-clogging debris and oil and removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin clean and soft. The scrub is also fortified with the rich nutrients of Shea Butter, Unsaturated Fatty Acid and vitamins A & E to moisturize and soften dry, sensitive skin.
I used this black sugar and shea butter exfoliator once a week on my face, and it made my skin super smooth and pores clean. Sebaceous filaments in the form of yellowish sebum on sides of nose can be cleaned up as well.
However, as it was slightly abrasive, one can massage gently and add more water during the exfoliation process. The broken capillaries on sides of nose were red though, so I tried to avoid this area during product usage.
Due to the abrasiveness and the broken red capillaries, I don't find myself reaching out for this product that much, hence I delegated to using for the body instead.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sucrose, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Microcrystalline Wax, Candelilla Cera, Polysorbate 20, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Aqua (Water), Cetyl Alcohol, Glucose, Fructose, Fragrance, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Rhizome/Root, Dextrin, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Carapa Guaianensis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Limonene
Conclusion
To conclude, Dear Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish smells good and the exfoliation made my skin super smooth and pores clean, however, it came across as slightly abrasive for my sensitive skin so I prefer to use it for the body instead.
