I purchased Allies of Skin Multi Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum with Allies of Skin Peptides & Omegas Firming Eye Cream during the BOGO sale, which is usually in the November period. I had a good experience with Allies of Skin Retinal & Peptides Repair Night Cream but not Allies of Skin Peptides & Antioxidant Firming Daily Treatment and is on the fence with this serum. 

Hydration is key to healthy skin, as skin that lacks proper hydration can appear dull, dry, and rough. A hydrating product can help to improve the moisture content of the skin, resulting in a smoother, more plump, and supple complexion.

Adding on, when the skin is adequately hydrated, the barrier function is strengthened, helping to keep irritants out and moisture in.

I received complimentary L'Occitane Immortelle Reset Serum 5ml and L'Occitane Precious Overnight Mask 4ml from the L'occitane Big Little Things Recycling Campaign which I really appreciate. 

While I enjoyed using their shower gels ( L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Bath and Shower Gel and L'occitane Almond Shower Oil ), their shampoos ( L'occitane Aromachologie Gentle & Balance Micellar Shampoo and L'Occitane Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo ) weren't a good fit for me so I am glad to have a chance to try out their skincare products.

Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Wash was my first purchase from the brand last year. The scent was overpowering and I didn't fancy trying more of their products until I came across an Instagram post by an IG friend posting about their shampoos, doing wonders for her thick hair. 

I didn't manage to purchase what the content creator likes, as it was not available on Iherb so I chose Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo instead. It has been a long journey to getting shampoos that doesn't cause hair loss on my thick but flat hair crown since the pandemic. Every new purchase unnerves me, because of the unpredictable and dismaying hair loss, until Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo comes along....

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo is housed in a 384ml plastic bottle with a flick top cap. Lightweight runny milky texture with a lovely green colour, it has a natural green scent which is difficult to describe. 

How To Use :

1) Apply to wet hair and gently massage into a rich lather. 

2) Rinse thoroughly. 

3) Repeat if necessary.

Performance and Ingredients

Healthy hair equals beautiful hair. Gently cleanse hair with this nourish sulfate free shampoo to improve hair's overall appearance. Specially formulated with Fair Trade Shea Butter and a power blend of Moringa, Avocado, Kale, Matcha and Green Algae, this blend of trending natural superfood ingredients is said to be nourishing and revitalising dry, dull hair to leave it up to 7 times shinier.

Runny in texture with a milky consistency, this lathers pretty well on my long and thick hair, leaving my hair clean, soft, nourished and shiny and most importantly of all, there isn't too much of a hair fall issue. 

The shampoo doesn't contain sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, parabens, petrolatum and there is no animal testing. 

I enjoyed using Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo so much, that I quickly ordered another 2 bottles as backups when it was depleting.

[ Review ] Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk

 

Product Description

Cleanse make-up and impurities in one step, this fluid oil-free Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk goes further thanks to its antioxidant Lumiphenols and emollient, soothing Imperial Peony. It also contains vegetable glycerine which reinforces skin hydration and a sunflower and jojoba oil duo for comfort.

I have previously emptied the Jowae Stimulating Moisturizing Shower Gel which wasn't a good fit for me and hence, I didn't harbour any high expectations for the cleansing milk. So it was a surprise that I ended up liking it very much. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk is a 200ml product with a flick-top lid that dispenses the thin runny cleansing milk without much fuss. It has a subtle floral scent.

How To Use :

Soak a cotton pad or cloth with the Soothing Cleansing Milk and slide it over the skin without scrubbing, to remove make-up and impurities.

Performance and Ingredients

Antioxidant Lumiphenols & Imperial Peony cleanses and removes make-up from normal to dry skin even sensitive ones. This milk gently cleanses and removes make-up from face and eyes while preserving from skin dryness.

I use Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk as a second cleanse on most days, after removing makeup with a makeup remover. At my recent Desaru trip, where I have run out of my makeup remover, I used it as a makeup remover ( sunscreen, tinted sunscreen, sunscreen powder and blusher ) and as a cleanser, hence double cleansing was what I did. 

My skin is always left soft, comfortable, free of make-up and impurities. 

96% of the ingredients are of natural origin and the product is paraben free, phenoxyethanol free, mineral oil free, no ingredients of animal origin, silicone free, without synthetic dyes.

Conclusion

To conclude, Jowae Soothing Cleansing Milk is a gentle cleanser and makeup remover that cleanses well, leaving skin soft and comfortable, and never dry or irritated. I cannot attest to using it primarily as a makeup remover for heavy makeup as I use it as a second cleanse on most days. I will repurchase it as a gentle milk cleanser.

[ Review ] Nature Republic Real Nature Royal Jelly Mask Sheet + Aloe Mask Sheet + Orange Mask

 

During my last Desaru trip, I brought along some sheet masks for use. These were Christmas gifts from a university friend whom we would meet up once/twice a year for catching up. I no longer buy sheet masks because of eco-friendly reasons. 

It has been a while since I used Nature Republic products so I am glad to revisit the brand again. 

Nature Republic Real Nature Royal Jelly Mask Sheet are royal jelly extracts which provide nourishment and improve skin texture.

How To Use : 

1) Cleanse face and apply toner to refine the skin texture

2) Carefully remove mask from packaging, unfold, and place the sheet mask on your face

3) Apply mask evenly across face, gently smooth the mask to ensure good contact with skin

4) Leave mask on face for 10 ~ 20 minutes

5) Remove mask and discard. Pat skin lightly to absorb the remaining essence into the skin.

Nature Republic Real Nature Royal Jelly Mask Sheet uses natural-derived cellulose sheets obtained from eucalyptus wood and cotton which adhere closely to skin and transfer essence to skin. It has a subtle honey scent and the sheet mask is soaked fully in essence.
