[ Review ] : Conscious Living Body Wash

 

Product Description

Conscious Living Body Wash is based on probiotic principles rather than the concept of anti-bacterial agents. Beneficial microflora, antioxidant fruit enzymes and naturally occurring saponin from soap nuts combine to form a synergistic “brew” which helps maintain the natural PH balance of the skin, enhances the protective layer on the surface of the skin, making it resistant and more impenetrable to harmful pathogens as well as killing body odors caused by bad bacteria.

I purchased Conscious Living Body Wash together with Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo from a zero-waste store where I can bring my own bottles to refill the contents, in order to do away with the packaging. Unfortunately, I am not sure if its cost-effective in the long run, as I can't remember the price which I purchased at. 

Made in Thailand, Conscious Living products combine ancient Thai herbal wisdom with the modern understanding of how beneficial micro-flora can bring healing to both body and environment. The presence of life promoting beneficial microbes reinforces enzyme activity, supporting and developing antioxidant and increasing natural cleansing and medicinal properties in their products. Packaging, Scent and Texture

I brought along empty Sachajuan 100ml bottles to refill Conscious Living Body Wash as it was the perfect size for me to try out new products, however it wasn't the best fit for it. The texture was pretty runny so there would be some wastage during dispensing it, as the contents would drip from the tiny gap. The natural scent smells lovely - not as fruity as I thought it would be, though. 

Performance and Ingredients

Conscious Living Body Wash lathers well, with a lovely natural scent. The contents are runny and cleans well. However, after about 40% used up, the body wash started to get drying for my skin type so thankfully, I didn't get a large bottle .

Conscious Living Body Wash uses naturally occurring saponin found in soapnuts as surfactant ( bubbles in soaps ). Extractions of beneficial elements from plant or fruits are fermented, eliminating the need for shelf life extension chemical preservatives like Paraben. Pineapple and citrus fruits possess anti-oxidant enzymes that function as a natural degreaser and deodorizer. Their natural medicinal properties gently cleanse without the need to use harmful chemicals.

Conclusion 

To conclude, Conscious Living Body Wash has a lovely scent with runny contents, lathers well but started to get drying after 40% used up hence it won't be a repurchase.

[ Review ] : By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream

After my holy grail BB Cream in VMV Hypoallergenics Skintangible SPF30 runs out, I was in search of another tinted product and chanced upon By Terry Moisturizing CC Cream during a sale and subsequently purchased it. 

I have only tried a couple of CC creams but most did not work out too well for me - poor oil control and very light shades even for my fair skin.

For the uninitiated, do you know the difference between BB cream and CC cream? While they are awesome picks for days you want to wear minimal makeup, they are not quite the same. 

Often short for “beauty balm” or “blemish balm,” BB cream is a skin-first product, meaning it’s meant to hydrate, illuminate, protect or mattify the skin. It offers sheerer coverage than foundation, which is great for everyday use or for anyone who embraces skinimalism or loves that skin first makeup look. 

Generally, CC cream stands for color correcting cream or complexion corrector cream. It neutralizes the appearance of imperfections by utilizing colors opposite each other on the color wheel (i.e. green cancels out red). A CC cream won't necessarily treat the skin conditions it covers, but it will neutralize them to make them less visible. It also provides SPF coverage, brighteners to help the skin look less dull, and hydrates the skin. Offering more coverage than BB creams, CC creams also serve multiple purposes—including disguising imperfections such as dark spots or redness—and they tend to have thicker, heavier formulas.

[ Review ] : The Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo

After a successful purchase of Acai and Maqui Berry Body Scrub from Scoop Wholefoods, I was keen to bring my own containers for other purchases. The Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo was recommended by the owner of Eco Le and I happily brought my 100ml empty bottle to fill up the shampoo contents. 

Made in Singapore, The Verdant Lab is a homegrown artisanal lifestyle brand that focuses on creating distinct products that are good for the body, perfect for the home and kind to the planet. Every ingredient in the products and luxurious scents are meticulously sourced and elegantly put together in thoughtful packaging. 

Packaging, Scent and Texture

I brought along empty Sachajuan 100ml bottles to refill the Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo as it was the perfect size for me to try out new products. It costs $26 for a 300ml size directly from the brand but since I can't remember the price at which I purchase at so I am unsure if its cheaper buying from Eco-Le without packaging. 

I was pleasantly surprised by its lovely amber scent with its sweet and floral notes. Clear in colour, the shampoo lathers well for a good shampoo-ing experience. 

How To Use :

1) Pump a small amount in your palm lather until desired foam is acquired. 

2) Gently massage onto damp hair and scalp and rinse off. 

If product gets into eyes, rinse with water immediately. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

Performance and Ingredients

Free from colourants, sulfates, parabens, and silicones. The Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo was love at first use initially as I enjoyed its uplifting scent, the lathering suds and how easy it was, to use the shampoo without any drying after-feel, even without any conditioner. 

Unfortunately, when the shampoo was about 50% used up, I noticed more hair fall than usual. Hair strands seem weaker as there was hair fall whenever I run my fingers through my hair after its air-dried.

Even though I have thick long tresses but I was still concerned when I noticed more hair strands on my palms whenever I run my fingers through. Definitely not a pleasant experience. That said, the shampoo left my hair clean, soft and fluffy. 

In terms of ingredients, The Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo contains the following....

Hydrolysed Rice Protein : Strengthens hair and prevent further damage

Vitamin B5 : Penetrates deep into hair strands to provide moisture that will give bounce and life to your hair

Conclusion

To conclude, while I enjoyed using The Verdant Lab Honeysuckle Amber Nourishing Shampoo initially, because of its scent and texture but there was more hair fall after its 50% used up, so it won't be a repurchase. However, it did left my hair feeling clean and fluffy-soft. 

That said, what don't work for me, may just work well for you.
