Product Description
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner is formulated with 50% Hyaluronic Acid , Birch Sap and Phyto Oligo to create a moisture barrier that deeply moisturizes your dehydrated skin and prevents from moisture loss for a long time. The toner is a clear gel type liquid without much stickiness or greasiness. It is a refreshing toner that is suitable for all skin types, ideal for dry and sensitive skin types.
After trying out Isntree Ceramide Deep Moisture Cream Mask, Isntree Sensitive Balancing Sun Protection SPF 50+ and Isntree Real Rose Calming Mask, here is another review for the toner! I still have several Isntree products in my stash yet to open, so please be patient as I usually take a considerably long time to use each product before reviewing them as I think its only fair to review a product after its almost used up.
At the time of writing, Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner has since been updated with triple Hyaluronic Acids, nevertheless I hope my review would still be useful for you as some online sites still sell the original version. You can check out the differences between first and second generation on Isntree website.
Products containing Hyaluronic Acid work very well for my skin type ( combination with surface dehydration ) so I was looking forward to using it. Lets delve down to the details....
Packaging, Scent and Texture
The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner comes in a 200ml clear plastic bottle with a twist and turn cap, revealing a small gap to dispense the clear runny contents. With a high content of Hyaluronic Acid, it has a smooth and slippery texture. There is no scent and the toner feels gentle to skin and absorbed well.
How To Use :
1) After washing face, take moderate amount of product on cotton pad and wipe skin.
2) Tap skin slightly to product to be absorbed.
Performance and Ingredients
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner contains 50% of highly concentrated Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which delivers moisture to dry skin instantly where HA is well known for its skin benefits, especially alleviating dry skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and speeding up wound healing.
Initially, the toner feels mild, gentle and does not seem to do anything to skin, however I have learnt to appreciate its hydration capability on dehydrated, irritated skin days. When I developed dermatitis on the forehead after a facial at IDS, I use the toner generously as a DIY lotion mask where I pour the toner onto a cotton pad, peel it to 2 pieces and layer on the forehead.
Redness and warmth were reduced significantly during application but once the cotton pads were removed, the redness and warmth came back shortly. It was a temporary solution for hydrating dermatitis-affected skin but I still appreciate having the product in my arsenal.
Because it is watery with a slight hint of viscosity, I prefer to use it on cotton pads and swipe all over my face on most days and use it as a lotion mask or applying the toner thrice ( like the 7-Skin Method ) on days when my skin needs more hydration. It took me about 2 months to deplete the toner, mainly as a DIY lotion mask.
I also paired it with Reverie Touch Rubber Mask for a dose of hydration, which works better than using water alone.
I love how this basic toner left my skin moderately hydrated without any greasiness, stickiness or heaviness, unlike some thick toner. For someone staying in a humid country all year round, lightweight products are important for me and Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner is just that.
You would also be happy to know that Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner was crowned the #1 Toner of 2016 on Hwahae previously so it certainly tells alot of how the public perceives this toner.
Do note that this Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner was the original version with only a single type of Hyaluronic Acid, however the latest formulation contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acids so I believe the performance should be much better. The shelf life after opening is 6 months.
In terms of ingredients, it contains the following...

Conclusion
To conclude, Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner is a basic no-frills toner which is gentle and hydrating. While I appreciate using it on sensitive and dehydrated skin days, this was not a hero product for me, unlike Real Essence Extreme Essence Toner. Hence, for now, it won't be a repurchase for me, however, I may just try the updated version.
