100% Pure Vitamin C Boost Review

Product Description
100% Pure Vitamin C Boost is a water-activated powder treatment with stable vitamin C and hyaluronic acid designed to brighten, lighten dark spots and promote firmer, more supple skin.

This water-activated powder treatment offers a potent dose of stable Vitamin C, designed to dramatically increase luminosity while lessening the appearance of dark spots. Ph balanced formula promotes a brighter complexion, while supporting collagen and elastin production for firm, supple skin. Hyaluronic Acid deeply hydrates and replenishes thirsty skin for a rejuvenated glow.

100% Pure is one of my favourite brands and my last purchase was the 100% Pure Vitamin C Triple Boost set which consists of 100% Pure Vitamin C Serum100% Pure Vitamin C Mask and this 100% Pure Vitamin C Boost.

Using Vitamin C can brighten and firm the skin, protect it from sun and environmental damage, diminish dark spots and even reduce the signs of aging.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

100% Pure Vitamin C Boost Texture

100% Pure Vitamin C Boost is a 10g sized powder housed in an amber-glass bottle with a screw-on cap. White in colour, the powder can be slightly nitty gritty so it is best to dissolve them with droplets of warm water before use. It has no scent.

I kept it in the fridge to maintain freshness but do note that the PAO is 6 months hence you need to use it up within 6 months after opening it.

Like all water-free formulas, skin treatment powders don’t normally need preservatives because they’re stable on their own. Bacteria thrive in watery environments; similar to us, they need water to function properly and multiply.

While you’ll be exposing this powder to water when you use it, you won’t be storing the serum for a long period of time. Instead, you’ll be using just enough (a pea-sized amount) for a one-time use. Be careful not to accidentally expose the entire product to H2O!

How To Use :
1) Use nightly after cleansing and toning.
2) Pour pea-sized amount into hands, then mix in a few drops of warm water until you reach a serum-like consistency.
3) Gently pat onto skin, evenly distributing around the face, eyes, and neck.
4) Continue to moisten skin with water until treatment is fully absorbed.

Performance and Ingredients

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that works to defend the skin from environmental aggressors like UV rays and pollutants. It also helps improve collagen production, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation and brighten skin.

However it also can be “irritating” to sensitive skin hence it is recommended to use a low-concentration formula in the 8-10% range in certain cases and a gentle reminder to avoid using vitamin C and retinol together.

Unfortunately, the percentage of the Vitamin C in 100% Pure Vitamin C Boost wasn't made known hence I can only advise to proceed with caution.

This formula has three versions of vitamin C: sodium ascorbate, ascorbic acid, and calcium ascorbate.

Since these antioxidants are in powder form, there is less risk of them degrading in sunlight or oxygen. That means you don’t have to worry about your powder going rancid. Every time you create your serum from home, it’s fresh. No sitting on the shelves for ages.

I use this like a serum and apply after cleansing and toning. The white powder tends to pool around the dispenser hole which can be messy and wasteful.

Pouring the powder on my palms or the similar silicone bowl which I used for 100% Pure Vitamin C Mask and then mix with warm water doesn't make much difference to how well it dissolve.

While it left my skin very smooth and soft with the right ratio of water-powder but sadly the white powder does not dissolve well on most days to reach the serum-like consistency for optimum performance, leaving the nitty gritty powdery formula on my face.

The key ingredients are....

Vitamin C : Brightens, boosts collagen and elastin production.

Hyaluronic Acid : Encourages collagen production and improves skin hydration.

Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Calcium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Hyaluronic Acid

Conclusion

To conclude, 100% Pure Vitamin C Boost isn't the easiest product to use. While it left skin very smooth and soft with the right ratio of water-powder but it doesn't dissolve well on most days. It also itches when paired with some products so it is not easy to layer with.
