I received IDS products from my visit to IDS Clinic earlier this year, however, I am not obligated to review the products.
You can check out my First Visit To IDS Clinic, Facial Treatment At IDS Aesthetics, IDS Moisturizer and Recovery Serum reviews and IDS Delicate Cleanser, C-Plus and Dermashield Serum reviews.
How To Use :
1) Pump twice onto your palm and gently rub hands together to form a soft foam.
2) Massage onto damp skin, avoiding the eye area before rinsing well.
Manufactured in Singapore, IDS Refreshing Cleanser (C1) is housed in tall and slim 100ml bottle that makes one think that it has more than 100ml contents. The pump dispenser is hard and doesn't seem to be able to be depressed fully down, which I am unsure if its by default or has malfunctioned although the contents can still be dispensed.
The gel contents has a lovely citrus scent and I was advised by the IDS consultant to add water to the contents in order to produce light suds before massaging it on face.
I was wary of using this cleanser as cleansing milk has always been my top choice due to my sensitive and finicky skin type, however, salons and skin analyzer machines tend to categorize my skin type as blemish-prone and oily, due to my combination skin ( forgetting that the surface is dehydrated ), as such, I am always being prescribed with cleansers that were too drying for me.
I was proven right again, with IDS Refreshing Cleanser (C1). When I first started using the cleanser, my palms felt drying although my face wasn't - that was a warning sign for me. After 2 weeks of usage, my face started to feel dry and irritated with redness occurring between my brows.
That said, pores were cleaner, smaller and skin was soft. Also helped to control newly formed zits without causing it to grow larger.
Ideal for normal to oily/blemish-prone skin, IDS Refreshing Cleanser is said to deep cleanse without stripping skin’s natural protective layer, support natural skin cell regeneration and soothe irritated skin and reduce redness.
However, it wasn't the case for me so it won't be a repurchase.
Do note that the PAO ( period after opening ) is 6 months. This refers to the tiny “open-jar” symbol typically found behind or underneath the product. The number on the symbol indicates the number of months it will remain good for use, starting from the point you break open the product.
IDS Refreshing Cleanser (C1) contains the following active ingredients....
Portulaca Oleracea, Centella Asiatica and Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extracts : Botanical extracts with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Dimethyl Sulfone : Sulfur-based ingredient to control blemishes.
Water, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Peg-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Bis-peg-12 Dimethicone, Lauryl Polyglucose, Sodium Cocyl Isethionate, Ppg-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide, Peg-6 Capric/Caprylic Glycerides, Sodium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil, Saccharide Isomerate, Niacinamide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben
How To Use :
1) After cleansing, pat dry and spray mist onto face and neck from a distance of about 10 – 15 cm, avoiding directly spraying the eyes, nostrils, lips and earlobes.
2) Alternatively, spray onto cotton pad and gently wipe all over the face.
2) Alternatively, spray onto cotton pad and gently wipe all over the face.
note : Do not use on broken or irritated skin.
Manufactured in Korea, the 100ml mist toner is tall, sturdy and portable and looks larger than its 100ml size. The misting isn't as fine as I preferred, instead it dispenses in strong bursts which I need to spread the contents out with my palms and does get uncomfortable if it gets into the eyes.
IDS Refreshing Toner (T1) contains alcohol which I am not a fan of, as I believe with long term use, it might dry out the skin. It has a subtle alcohol scent so if you are allergic to it, do take note. With misting, comes with more contents, hence my skin has a taut sensation as compared to using cotton pads which may have diluted the toner.
And because of the strong burst via misting as well as the taut sensation, I prefer to spray the toner on cotton pads and swipe all over the face.
With regular use, it helps to inhibit the formation of blemishes, however since its slightly drying on my skin so I don't use the toner often. This product is ideal for normal to oily/blemish-prone skin
This product also has the same 6 months PAO symbol.
It contains the following active ingredients....
Portulaca Oleracea Extract : Botanical extract with anti-inflammatory properties
Centella Asiatica Extract : Also known as "gotu kola", it has anti--bacterial, antipsoriatic and wound-healing properties
Hammamelis Virginiana ( Witch Hazel ) Leaf Extract : Has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties
Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Alcohol Dimethyl Sulfone, 1-2 Hexanediol, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Niacinamide, Betaine, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-8 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Triethanolamine
IDS Intensive Moisturizer (IM) is a creamy formulation that works efficiently against dry skin. It contains a synergistic combination of botanical extracts and Hyaluronic Acid to boost its hydrating properties. With continued usage, skin feels more plump and supple, and appears more radiant.
How To Use :
Apply a small amount evenly onto entire face twice daily.
Manufactured in Korea, the 30ml intensive moisturizer is housed in a opaque bottle with a pump dispenser that dispenses just the right amount of usage. However, it does not pump well once the bottle is almost emptied hence I usually use a cotton bud to scoop up the remaining contents.
It has a lovely subtle scent and the lightweight silicon-y texture glides well on skin to provide a smooth finishing. As much as I enjoyed using the moisturizer, the efficacy also largely depends on how you pair the products.
IDS Refreshing Cleanser (C1) + Refreshing Toner (T1) via mist + Intensive Moisturizer (IM)
- Insufficient moisture on skin as the cleanser and toner were drying for my skin type.
IDS Refreshing Cleanser (C1) + Refreshing Toner (T1) via cotton pads + Intensive Moisturizer (IM)
- Sufficient moisture with no tautness.
Said to prevent oxidative damage, reduce appearance of fine lines, boost skin moisture content, improve skin emollient effect and minimizes skin irritation, IDS Intensive Moisturizer (IM) is a reliable product for my skin type.
Skin felt smooth and supple without any stickiness or greasiness after application and pairs well with most products. It has garnered Women's Weekly Best Day Moisturizer for Dry Skin in 2018 and is also featured in my Top 21 Beauty Empties I Loved in 2021.
However, if you need more hydration, I highly recommend IDS Ultra Moisturizer.
Do note that this product also has the same 6 months PAO symbol.
