[ Review ] : IDS Pore Formula (PF) + Rejuvenating Complex (RC)

If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I depend on my trusty Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil 100% Multipurpose Liquid as a spot corrector for any new pimples since 2014. A little goes a long way and the product is affordable too.

IDS Pore Formula (PF) was given to me during my last collaboration with them. I am not obligated to review their products but as always, I like to share my thoughts after using a new product. I enjoyed quite a number of products from IDS namely IDS Recovery Serum and IDS Ultra Moisturizer and IDS C-Plus and now its time to review Pore Formula, another favourite product of mine.

Do note that the PAO ( period after opening ) for these products is 6 months.

IDS Pore Formula (PF) Review

IDS Pore Formula (PF) works to refine pores and reduce blackheads and whiteheads. It minimizes oil production without excessive drying. Formulated with IDS’ proprietary NEULASTIN transcutaneous delivery system, active ingredients are effectively delivered and absorbed into the skin.

Benefits
- Rapid clearance of blackheads, whiteheads and blemishes
- Easy to use
- Non-oily formula
- Gentle on the skin
- Improved skin texture

How To Use :
1) Shake bottle before use.
2) Pump once or twice, spread thinly on the t-zone, oily and blemish-prone areas or entire face.
3) Apply twice daily.

Ideal for oily and blemish-prone skin, and those susceptible to developing whiteheads and blackheads, IDS Pore Formula (PF) can be used on the oily area like the T-zone if you have combination skin like mine, or on areas where new zits occur.

IDS Pore Formula (PF) Texture

Manufactured in Singapore, IDS Pore Formula (PF) comes in a pump dispenser which tends to dispense too much, hence a light depression is highly recommended, if you just need a tiny amount of contents. It has a lightweight milky texture with a tea tree oil scent and applies with a minty cooling sensation. However, this tea tree oil scent smells differently from those that I am used to, so it may not be a hit for everyone.

Initially, I was overzealous and applied too much, due to the pump dispenser, causing my skin to be dry and flaky. After some trial and error, I realized the trick is to apply it sparingly for my combination-dehydrated skin type.

Unfortunately, applying it on the T-zone didn't seem to eliminate any shine, however, using it as a spot corrector for new emerging zits was an excellent choice. It was effective in reducing the zit, flattening the zit and ripening the zit by the following morning. It also work well on a new protruding blackhead on the cheek where it was flattened and disappeared in 5 days.

That said, it stings on dehydrated skin and cause redness occasionally so its best to use on well-hydrated skin.

Overall, I really like IDS Pore Formula (PF) as an effective spot corrector but since I only use a tiny amount each time, the product lasted me for a long time and even went beyond the 6 months PAO. The product started to be less effective ( but still works ) as it reaches nearer the PAO date, so its not a viable solution for those who don't use much.

IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) Review

IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) is a potent anti-aging cream designed to counter the ravages of time, environmental and sun damage on your skin. It contains unique ingredients to boost collagen and elastin production, dramatically reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines like never before. Skin appears firmer, smoother and revitalized. It is also developed with IDS’ patented and proprietary NEULASTIN formulation and delivery system to ensure effective absorption of active ingredients.

Benefits
- Immediate improvement in skin texture.
- Visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles with continued use.
- Youthful appearance.

Manufactured in Singapore, IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) is housed in a 30ml plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. White in colour, it has a lightweight creamy consistency with a silicone texture that gives rise to a smooth feel.

IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) Texture

During the initial usage, Rejuvenating Complex (RC) stung my skin and left the cheeks warm, red and flaky with a mesh-like sensation. My skin only improved on the 8th day after I stopped using it and followed up with twice a day masking session.

However, the moment I used back the product, I could feel the slight stinging effect and I stopped using it completely, even though it left my skin soft and smooth the following morning.

The product seems to be too potent for my skin type and since I was told that it can be used around the eyes so I have using it as an eye cream thereafter.

This product is said to be ideal for all mature individuals or anyone wishing to have finer, smoother skin, however I am not sure why my skin reacted to it that badly. The doctor at IDS advised me to use it after a moisturiser while the IDS consultant suggested me to use it before a moisturiser, however, I use it like a moisturiser as I think its too rich for other products to be layered on top of it.

IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) costs $262 so I was slightly disappointed to not able to see any results after using it for a couple of months on the eye area.

In terms of ingredients, IDS Rejuvenating Complex (RC) contains the following key ingredients...
