My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask has gone through a few rounds of "improvements" with the current version as the 3rd update, with a new name - My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Brightening Mask. I have used the first version way back in 2010 - My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Sheet Mask, followed by another version in 2015 - My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask and each time, the results were not as impressive as the first one while the ingredient list gets longer.

Naruko Apple Seed and Tranexamic Acid Cheek Spot Mask is great for fair-skinned people like myself, who is concerned about the pigmentation spot on the cheeks area, without the need to brighten up the whole face. 

It is made of a soft and comfortable material that is large in size and spread from the undereye area to the lower cheek area. Refreshing with a cooling sensation, it also left a tightening feeling after the 20 minute treatment is up, which seems to be typical of all Naruko masks I have used so far. However, I don't fancy the tightening sensation as it made me feel that all the moisture is being sucked up by the mask, instead of being replenished. 

Tranexamic Acid is the 2nd ingredient in the list and according to this researched article, the ingredient is famed for its whitening properties, helps to prevent pigmentation, improves skin roughness and restores damaged skin caused UVA/UVB, pollution and environmental factors. 

Unfortunately, despite using up all the 10 sheets within a month, I did not see a difference to the dark spots on my cheeks. Who knows, perhaps you may have better results than me?

Trip to Tasmania/Melbourne + My Awesome Purchases

Hobart in a nutshell

I visited Hobart and Launceston, Tasmania for 9 days and ended the trip with another 2 days in Melbourne.
