[ Review ] Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick

Product Description
Fitted with SPF 50+ PA++++, Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick is a lightweight sun stick that fends off UV rays while soothing skin with natural herbs like lavender, rosemary and chamomile extracts. Balm-like texture leaves a non-sticky and refreshing finish with no white cast. The gentle formula is suitable for sensitive skin.

I received Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++ as part of a Stylekorean collaboration. This is my first foray into the brand.

Established in 2013, Korean brand MIGUHARA believes in the power of Mother Nature to enhance beauty. Through extensive research and development, MIGUHARA develops safe and efficacious skin care and make up products from natural, plant-based ingredients to promote skin regeneration and maintain healthy skin.

When it comes to sun protection, more really is more. While a good sunscreen is non-negotiable in any skincare routine, I’ve recently added a new step that’s made a noticeable difference—applying a sun stick as a primer before my regular sunscreen. At first, it might sound like overkill, but layering sun protection doesn’t just boost effectiveness; it also helps ensure better coverage, especially on days when I’m out and about.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick is a 20g product with a sleek compact packaging designed for portability and ease of use. Housed in a twist-up tube —similar to a deodorant stick or oversized lip balm—they fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and slide easily into any purse, pocket, or makeup bag. It has a snap-on cover, with a clear plastic lid for hygiene and accidental mess.

It has a soapy perfume-like fragrance which I rather do without, if given an option but thankfully, its not overpowering. The balm texture has a glowy finishing.

How To Use :
At the last stage of skincare, spin out a proper amount and directly apply onto the skin evenly.

Performance and Ingredients

Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick is infused with calming natural herbs like lavender, rosemary, and chamomile extracts to soothe and nourish, making it ideal even for sensitive skin. Its balm-like texture glides on effortlessly, leaving a non-sticky, non-white cast and glowy finishing that tends to make my skin looking slightly greasy in a humid climate.

I prefer to use it as a primer, before my regular sunscreen, as an additional sun protection as I don't like to reapply products on a dirty face.

The 5 UV filters are....

Octocrylene : It protects the skin against short UVA and long UVB rays, however from a research study, Octocrylene appears to be a strong allergen leading to contact dermatitis in children and mostly photoallergic contact dermatitis in adults with an often-associated history of photoallergy from ketoprofen

Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate : Often listed on sunscreen products as Octinoxate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (also called Octyl Methoxycinnamate) is used in products that are applied to the skin to absorb, reflect or scatter UV rays; it protects the skin from sunburn and other damaging effects of the sun. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate also protects cosmetics and personal care products from deterioration caused by UV rays and allows them to last longer in high UV conditions.

Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate : A new generation, chemical sunscreen agent with high UVA protection and high photostability. Also known as Uvinul A Plus.

Ethylhexyl Salicylate : Also known as Ethylhexyl Salicylate or Octisalate, this is an organic compound used as an ingredient in sunscreens and cosmetics to absorb UVB (ultraviolet) rays from the sun. Although the Cosmetics Ingredient Review notes that reproductive and developmental toxicity can occur in relation to Salicylic Acid, one of the two primary components of Ethylhexyl Salicylate, it has determined that the levels used in cosmetic and beauty products would not cause any adverse reaction. Importantly, the FDA has approved Ethylhexyl Salicylate for use in sunscreen with up to 5% concentration. Ethylhexyl Salicylate receives an EWG hazard rating of 4.

Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine : A broad-spectrum ( full UVA and UVB protection ) chemical sunscreen agent which is also known as Tinosorb S. Hardly deteriorates in the presence of UV.

Conclusion

To conclude, Miguhara Daily Herb Sun Stick is compact, travel-friendly, and easy to toss into a purse or pocket. The snap-on cap, paired with a clear plastic lid, keeps things hygienic and mess-free—perfect for on-the-go use.

While it carries a mild soapy, perfume-like fragrance that I personally could do without, it isn’t overpowering. The balm itself glides on smoothly and leaves a glowy, slightly dewy finish. Thanks to its herbal blend of lavender, rosemary, and chamomile extracts, it also offers a soothing touch, making it a great option for those with sensitive skin.

That said, in humid climates, the glow can verge on greasy, which is why I prefer using it as a primer underneath my regular sunscreen rather than reapplying it throughout the day. It’s a great way to layer on extra sun protection—without having to touch my face when I’m out and about.
