- Brightens complexion

- Improves skin texture
- Firms and increase skin elasticity
- Reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Sigi Skin is a local skincare brand which I have been eyeing for awhile and after purchasing its popular sunscreen (which I have yet to open), I purchased its Acne Rescue Kit where Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Vitamin C Brightening Serum comes free. It was given free, as the serum was expiring in 3 months time but it wasn't mentioned during the product listing (which was such a shame).

According to its website, Sigi Skin is a local award-winning skincare brand dedicated to delivering superfood infused with clinically proven actives skincare products that are both effective and free of toxins. Powered by a combination of carefully curated superfood and scientifically proven ingredients, the products are multi-purpose, protecting skin and repairing damage caused by pollution and environmental stressors. Vegan, cruelty-free and made in Korea.

I loved supporting local brands and if you are curious about other Singaporean brands, here are some brands which I have reviewed before - Allies of Skin, L/chemy, Solyph, Pine & Co, PHS Hairscience, Yours, Skin Inc, Dr. GL, Estetica, Handmade Heroes, The Verdant Lab and more.

Packaging, Scent and Texture

Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Texture

The Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Vitamin C Brightening Serum comes in a 30ml bottle, thoughtfully packaged with an additional pump dispenser. This clever inclusion explains the slightly larger outer paper box, which might otherwise seem excessive for the compact-sized product.

One detail I genuinely appreciate is the UV-protective bottle, designed to shield the Vitamin C from light exposure and help maintain its potency. To further preserve its effectiveness, I stored it in the fridge immediately after receiving it—a small step that makes a big difference in product longevity.

The serum itself has a watery, runny texture, which can make dispensing a little tricky. I recommend pumping slowly and carefully to avoid unnecessary wastage. It features 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, and with that comes a slight metallic orange scent—a signature aroma common to potent vitamin C formulas.

I also like that it isn't sticky or greasy.

How To Use :
Use 2-3 pumps for the entire face every morning after cleansing and follow up with a moisturiser and sunscreen.

Tip :
For new users, apply 1-2 pumps on freshly cleansed face twice a week

Performance and Ingredients

100% fragrance free, cruelty free, and pregnancy, nursing safe, Daylight Oasis is recommended to be used in the day by the brand, as it contains Vitamin E which provides 4 times more UV protection when used with sunscreens. I prefer to use it at night, as I noticed Vitamin C serums tend to make my skin more sun-sensitive in the day.

I was genuinely excited to try the Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis Vitamin C Brightening Serum, largely due to its stellar ingredient list and the glowing reviews across social media. With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, this serum promised brightening results—but I knew it might be a gamble with my sensitive skin.

As expected, my skin reacted during the initial usage phase. I experienced occasional stinging on my cheeks and the edges of my nose, followed by dryness, flaking, and red patches when used nightly.

After some trial and error, I found a routine that helped me enjoy the brightening benefits without triggering irritation:
  • Limit usage to twice a week instead of daily
  • Avoid applying on damp skin, which can increase product penetration and cause more irritation.
  • Always layer with a hydrating moisturiser to buffer the active ingredients and support the skin barrier.
The runny serum worked exceptionally well when paired with Neogence HA Hydrating Cream, leaving my skin smooth, plump, and radiant. Unfortunately, when I emptied that cream, I struggled to find a replacement that gave similar results.

Pairing the serum with the with Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream (2024 formulation) caused some itchiness, possibly due to ingredient interaction. On the other hand, the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream helped reduce redness and dry patches, though it lacked the hydration my skin needs to fully recover after using strong actives.

The Jumiso Snail Mucin 88 + Peptide Facial Cream, while moisturising in theory, also lacked the deep hydration needed to properly support the Vitamin C serum. My skin still felt tight and borderline flaky.

Do note that from March 2025, the serum texture has been improved to a unique jelly-like lightweight texture.

The key ingredients are....

15% L-Ascorbic Acid : Optimal amount that is clinically proven which protects against signs of ageing like wrinkles and fine lines

Exosomes : A medical-grade ingredient which helps with a myriad of skin conditions such as wrinkles, acne, scarring, eczema, and wound healing

Resveratrol : Gives skin a healthier, smoother appearance by reducing redness and improves overall skin texture

Fucoidan : Improves skin elasticity and regenerates cells while inhibiting melanin production, hence lightening overall skin complexion.

Turmeric : Helps control sebum production and combats acne due to antibacterial properties

Copper Tripeptide Growth Factor : Stimulates collagen production for elastic skin and increases speed of wound healing

Vitamin E : Provides four times the protection of sunblock alone when used together with Vitamin C and sunscreen.

WATER, PROPANEDIOL, ASCORBIC ACID, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, FICUS CARICA (FIG) FRUIT EXTRACT, CENTELLA ASIATICA EXTRACT, UNDARIA PINNATIFIDA EXTRACT, CURCUMA LONGA (TURMERIC) ROOT EXTRACT, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SODIUM CITRATE, GLYCERIN, COCETH-7, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ADENOSINE, CETYL ALCOHOL, CERAMIDE NP, TOCOPHEROL, COPPER TRIPEPTIDE-1, RESVERATROL, FERULIC ACID, MANNITOL, LACTOBACILLUS EXTRACELLULAR VESICLES, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PPG-1-PEG-9 LAURYL GLYCOL ETHER, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN

Conclusion

To conclude, Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis left my skin smooth, plump, and radiant. If you're looking to try a high-strength Vitamin C serum for sensitive skin, the Sigi Skin Daylight Oasis can deliver results—but only with the right supporting products and usage routine. Focus on hydration, barrier support, and moderation. Always patch test, listen to your skin, and don't be afraid to scale back if irritation occurs.

Some of my recent favourite brightening serums were Rovectin Vita Dark Spot Serum and Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum
