Packaging, Scent and Texture
Benton Mineral Sun Stick SPF50 PA++++ is a tiny 15g product in a rounded stick format where you can just twist the dial at the bottom in order to push up the sun stick balm for use. White in colour, the sun stick has no scent, and the smooth silicone texture glides well on skin.
How To Use :
1) At the final step of basic skin care, 20 to 30 minutes before going out, put an appropriate amount of Benton Mineral Sun Stick on the area exposed to UV rays and apply gently.
2) Reapply as needed when exposed to strong sunlight.
*There may be temporary white cast due to a unique characteristic of mineral ingredient, please tap lightly for absorption. After a certain period of time, it returns to its original skin color.
*Since it is a solid type, please use it little by little rather than putting it a lot on the skin from the beginning.
Performance and Ingredients
Benton Mineral Sun Stick SPF50 PA++++ is a physical/mineral sun stick formulated with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and tocopherol to nourish skin while protecting it from free radicals.
Hyaluronic acid helps hydrate the outer layers of skin, increasing skin moisture and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Tocopherol or a Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which helps fight free radical damage and promote skin healing to diminish signs of aging.
There was pilling upon first use but thankfully, it never happen again. The velvety, balm-like texture was stiff but blurs pores upon first use and takes awhile before it glides smoothly onto skin. There was no tackiness but has a subtle white cast that settles down after some light massaging.
I enjoyed using this during work from home days, and as additional sun protection on regular work days. It can also be used as re-application but it is not my preferred method as I don't really like using products on a dirty face.
I have been looking for a mineral sun stick and I found it in Benton Mineral Sun Stick SPF50 PA++++ with its elegant texture and soft non-sticky and non-oily formula. I tend to stroke it upwards during usage, akin to doing a face massage.
On work from home days : I use 3 layers after my regular moisturiser
On regular work days : I use 3 layers after my regular moisturiser, followed by a regular sunscreen, tinted sunscreen and regular loose powder.
In terms of protection, Benton Mineral Sun Stick contains SPF50 with PA++++ protection.
The UV filter is Titanium Dioxide which protects against UVB rays and partial UVA rays. You can refer to the list of ingredients on CosDNA.
Benton Mineral Sun Stick has also been tested for irritation and is evaluated to be low-irritating with an irritation index 0.04.

To conclude, Benton Mineral Sun Stick SPF50 PA++++ has exceeded my expectations with its elegant texture and soft non-sticky and non-oily formula. It glides well on skin and makes a good base for makeup. Simply loves this so much that I have repurchased a second one.
That said, I wouldn't use this as a singular sun protection product when I am outside, as it does not provide full protection against UVA rays.
