Manyo Galactomy Niacin 2.0 Essence was a Yesstyle influencer redemption and I was glad to have the chance to try it. Fermented ingredients tend to have a positive effect on my skin so I was optimistic about this product. My recent favourites were E Nature Rice Essential Tone-Starter and E Nature Bio-Zeup Sheet Mask.
Fermentation is a term we are all familiar with and in the skincare world, fermentation breaks down natural molecules and makes them smaller, so it’s easier for them to absorb deeper into your skin’s surface.
In skincare, these smaller molecules become more potent and precise for optimal bioavailability, which allows ingredients to penetrate the skin deeper and absorb readily. With an increase in bioavailability and smaller molecule size, it is said that all the skincare ingredients used in fermented skincare and their benefits are significantly amplified.
Made in Korea, skin care brand Manyo (an abbreviation of Manyo Factory) is widely beloved for their gentle yet ultra-effective formulas. The brand dubs itself the "sorceress of nature" because of their transformative formulas that harness time-tested, natural ingredients like heartleaf and cica.
Packaging, Scent and Texture
Manyo Galactomy Niacin 2.0 Essence is housed in a 30ml clear glass bottle with a dropper dispenser. Light and runny, the essence is clear in colour with a subtle oily base. It has no scent.
How To Use :
1) Apply after cleansing and toning.
2) Massage gently until fully absorbed.
Performance and Ingredients
Galactomyces Niacin is a liquid formula containing a pure concentration of 97% niacinamide (B3) that helps your skin’s uppermost layers appear renewed, clarified, and more even. Niacinamide also reduces enlarged, congested pores.
This essence improves stubborn signs of aging such as dull, uneven skin tone, helps hasten the fading of post-breakout marks, and minimizes the appearance of skin discolorations and wrinkles. And it does this while also helping to preserve skin’s critical moisture barrier for a more supple feel and healthier look.
Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence also contains skin-enhancing vitamin C, ultra-light moisturizing ingredients and antioxidants to help improve skin texture, hydration, and help skin defend its surface from free-radical damage that, left unchecked, can lead to further signs of aging.
If you have enlarged pores, Niacinamide helps to "tighten" them back up by helping strengthen skin’s elasticity as well as helping in improving the texture of skin (including reducing the appearance of fine lines). As for red marks, Niacinamide at 2% or more can be effective at helping fade those marks faster (so long as you’re wearing SPF every day).

I tend to avoid greasy products due to my combination skin in humid weather, so when I first started using Manyo Galactomy Niacin 2.0 Essence, I was dismayed with its subtle oily base. It made my skin look greasy and shiny upon application which I don't fancy, however, the shine lessened with time and I was pleased to see a glow after a week of usage.
My skin looked more even-toned with a healthy glow throughout the 3- 4 weeks I was using it. I noticed the difference the moment I switched out the product as my skin was so dull that the dense hubby made a remark too.
That said, there was random itches at times and after 3 weeks of regular usage, I don't see more difference to skin, in terms of sebum reduction, pores or discolouration so hopefully I will see more results once I emptied it.
With a pH of 7.40±1.00, Manyo Galactomy Niacin 2.0 Essence is vegan and cruelty free and formulated without artificial fragrances and colors, parabens, sulfates, animal products, alcohol, mineral oils, essential oils, and silicone.

Galactomyces : This is the extract of yeast fungus obtained by the fermentation process. Yeast fungus contain large amounts of vitamins B and P, as well as elements such as calcium, iron, zinc, iodine, folic acid. Galactomyces extract intensively moisturizes skin, increases its immunity and protects skin cells from harmful exposure to UV rays, accelerates the synthesis of collagen and glycoproteins, thereby improving the protective mechanisms of the skin. The skin becomes elastic and tight.
Niacinamide : Also known as vitamin B3, niacinamide is a well-researched, proven multi-tasking ingredient that addresses a surprising range of skin care concerns, no matter your age or skin type! If you have more stubborn or lingering concerns like large pores, wrinkles, post-breakout marks, and uneven skin tone, then an increased percentage of niacinamide might just be the solution you’ve been looking for! Conclusion
To conclude, Manyo Galactomy Niacin 2.0 Essence was a lovely essence for even toned, glowing skin, however, I am not a fan of its subtle oily base for my combination skin type in humid weather. The results were gradual and subtle but I noticed the difference to skin, once I switched out the product.
While I enjoyed using the essence, I hope to see more results once I emptied it, in terms of sebum reduction, pores or discolouration as claimed.
